So no mouse means no Jezzball, right? :(
Other games in wishlist:
Chip's Challenge (unless the DOS one is TASed instead)
Jezzball (probably needs mouse)
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Any Mario fangames (ex: Mario Forever, Super Mario XP)
Skifree (getting past the yeti :D)
Rodent's Revenge

Another example is this movie where the publication text has a link to an encode that has loading screens removed.
Anyway, it looks like it took a lot of work to finish this, so good job! I agree that this version should obsolete the DS version (this one looks better and is the original). Yes vote.

That kind of screenshot doesn't make me interested enough to watch the run. The movie you linked to didn't seem interesting enough for me to watch it (until the new one was submitted and I wanted to be surprised by the improvements). I might have watched it earlier if the screenshot was of something more interesting, like Goron Bomb-jumping over the fence to enter Great Bay early.

Great job! Temple of Droplets and Palace of Winds were awesome! I loved every use of the Ocarina glitch too. It reminds me of the glitched A Link to the Past TASes.
YES vote!

Too bad it's too big to be one of your avatars.
Also, I think Mario is the cooler title character (he's not an animal), especially because of his design, voice, and jumping ability.

I'm kind of disappointed by the screenshot. I think one showing the 4 or 5 Sub-zeros fighting the 2 or 3 Kung Laos would make for a much more WTF image.

I haven't tried, perhaps I should...
I checked now, the SNES Taz mania is a completely different game about running on a road and eating birds.
Ah, okay, didn't know that. I figured when funnyhair said "I remember this game! I have it for the SNES!" that they would be the same.
There's a Game Boy version too, which is a platformer like this one, but still is a different game (different levels, no color, etc.).

Here are some alternate screenshot ideas, instead of the one that is in the submission text
I like the first one, the one in the Bowser 2 battle, and the one of the BLJ to the pipe. I agree, the new screenshot spoils the new route for those who want to be surprised.

I think you should state what BLJ stands for in the description.
While most Mario 64 enthusiasts know it means, anyone else who reads the video description will be confused.
I agree. Since the run will be starred (recommended for new visitors), maybe the publication text should say something like:
"For those who don't know, the game-breaking glitch used in this video is called the Backwards Long Jump (BLJ), and it allows Mario to build up enough backwards speed to pass through walls and star doors, and skip most of the game."
I'm not the best at wording publication texts, but you get the idea.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!
Through splicing the improved oven-knob areas from this run into jlun2's latest submission (the 6:15.47 one), I found that the new route we used saved 237 frames (3.95 seconds)! I'll add this to the submission text.
Not sure if jlun2 will actually comment on this run...
EDIT: OK, if jlun2 wants to comment in the submission text, he can tell NitroGenesis or me. Deleting the "jlun2's comments" section for now.

Nice work. I'm sure you'll save a lot of time throughout the game.
In the published run, there are rooms that make you wait for platforms to appear to get across a floor of spikes. Would it be faster to jump across the levels with the platform-making weapon and then manipulate a weapon refill from an enemy?

Thanks for the encode, antd.
I've never played this game and I didn't watch the published movie, but this is very fast and a good improvement. Voting Yes.

When playing back a recording in the new vba24-alpha svn392, I keep hearing this static sound about every 1400 frames. I'm not sure if this was something caused by the savestate fix, but it would be nice if you could look into it.
EDIT: Never mind, this isn't an emulator problem, just a problem with my computer. Sorry...

Some GBx games like Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (GBC) require the motion sensors, but motion doesn't seem to work for these games. (There's a TAS on YouTube of this game using an old VBA, so I know motion worked at one time.)

I would think that if a movie doesn't sync on the console, it would be a problem with NESBot (which is still in its early stages), and not the movie. Therefore, I would prefer the "fastest file in FCEUX".
