Lately, staying motivated has been tough for me too. It definitely helps to have other TAS projects to work on, especially of different game genres since they require a different main focus (movement optimization, luck manipulation, entertainment, etc.). If you're not motivated to do your current project, even TASing a little bit of another potential project is better than not starting that one at all. Small accomplishments can make you feel like you're being productive, and encourage motivation. If nothing else works, I also tend to play console games in a different room until I get motivated again. It's a bonus if the game I play is an N64 or Wii game I might want to TAS someday, then I'll type up notes on speedy strats or potential glitches, and happily imagine what the finished product could look like.

The blindfolded runs are always quite interesting, and this year wasn't an exception. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjID52exQys
Seconding this one, it was awesome! I found the RTA route for glitching to the end to be pretty surprising and cool too.

Enjoyed the plum bouncing once again, and the rest of it was good too!

This stage sure is fickle with its collision. And good idea switching to the European version, it should be more impressive with less lag and even better record-breaking times.

That was pretty fast, and I liked your strategy. You could probably really help out the eventual full A-Button Challenge TAS by optimizing star times like this. Try out different bounces off the floating platform (you should be able to make it to the log a couple seconds earlier), and then try jumping toward the star from a different part of the log. You might find a better angle or slightly faster strategy this way.

Funny seeing all these characters again after so long. The denture-throwing guy and the kids with shades especially. The rest of Episode 2 was good, and it was funny to see you push enemies into the lava in 2-4. In 3-1, can you manipulate all three football guys to stay on the left so you can attack them all at once? That one guy who goes right really seems to slow down the fight (rhyme not intended).

That's awesome! I'm glad the Robot SpongeBob trick works for more bosses in the game. Do you have a Google Spreadsheet that shows all these new spatula times? The one for the 1:05 TAS doesn't seem to have changed in a while, and it's exciting to see the time getting pushed down.

Good run, guys. It seems like saving time spent scrolling the screen would be an important thing to optimize, so I'm glad you were able to do that some. It's a Yes from me!

Good entertainment throughout, and that screenshot really summarizes it. Yes vote! Also enjoyed your submission text, as always.

I thought it was entertaining. I hadn't seen this level set before, but 2-4 looked like a SMB hack, and they tore through it just as quickly as the other levels. Voting Yes!

Thanks Fog, glad this issue should be fixed soon. (It's pretty frustrating.)

Looks pretty good. The gameplay reminds me of the SpongeBob GBA games Supersponge and Lights, Camera, Pants.

Definitely looks better than the old run! I like the minor skip at 1:17, don't remember seeing that before.

Well done, great new applications of those tricks. How did you get the Connect the Towers spatula in the new route? Did you hit the robot with one of those bubble bowls? If we could eliminate the cruise bubble entirely from Goo Lagoon, it might save a little time from not having to come back there later.

Also, I just realized that I should make a movie for 100% as well, considering I speedrun that category, but there isn't a TAS of it yet. It's only about 3 minutes longer than the 8 minute Any% TAS, so it might be a good place for me to learn some TASing from scratch. :D
Go for it! It'll be a fun learning experience for you, and a nice TAS to watch for the rest of us.

I tested it out and I was able to get a different roll by both waiting 30 frames and by going back (using B) and returning to that Dice Block. It should be pretty straightforward, though it takes longer than in older Mario Party games. Note that unlike all the previous games, MP9 seems to somewhat simulate an actual die slowly spinning around and landing on one of six numbers, depending on when you hit it. Also, you can manipulate CPU rolls while keeping your roll the same by hitting the block a frame earlier or later. You could probably set up a chain of three CPU six-rolls if you manipulate well enough. It should be fun to test!

The plane part was awesome! The published movie seems to have the same nice slashing to the music, but there's more of it here and the jumping off the very tips of the spinning plane makes this run a lot funnier and more surprising. Overall, the entertainment is better so far, and it looks "cleaner" technically too.

Uhh... My encode is uploading... But there is av desync... Could someone help me encode an av sync video?
How much desync is there? If you trim off one second from the beginning of the audio file, and then merge it with the video, is there still A/V desync?
