Thanks for sharing that, Fishaman P. The only thing is, we don't post new information every day, or even every week, so most days you'll be disappointed to see nothing new here. If it's any easier for you, you can "Watch this topic for replies", which should've been activated as soon as you posted, and you'll get an e-mail whenever someone posts in this topic. That way, you won't have to come all the way here to see no new posts.

Go to Tools > Memcard Manager (GC). Load a memory card file (*.raw), click Import GCI and choose the GCI you want to load. That's all you have to do.

Masterjun's right; all you have to do is make a savestate where you leave off. Then when you wake up in the morning and open up VBA and the game, just press Shift+8 (or whatever combination you set), load your savestate, and resume working. You don't even have to turbo. As for the audio issue, try setting the audio frequency in Options>Audio to 44 KHz. That'll give you the best quality audio.

Cool hack. The run looks like it could be optimized more though. You should be able to manipulate those jumping robots to stall their jump until you're passing under them, for instance. It looks like lag can be reduced by shooting enemies so there aren't as many on screen (like the section with three giant gears on the same line). You should also try to not miss shots like you did in the Heatman battle; it doesn't look good in a TAS.

Thanks for posting the information on the glitches! I thought it was a solid run with several nice tricks. I didn't find it too entertaining though, due to it being somewhat repetitive and slow-paced and the minigames just being uninteresting to watch. I have to vote No, but I will watch it again sometime!

level 6 (glitched too) with resetting
Oh, my bad.

In any case, it seems like something pulled off in [2047] SNES Chrono Trigger "save glitch" by turska & inichi in 03:28.06 should be possible, and therefore the TAS is suboptimal.
Perhaps it can be achieved through hard resetting on a certain frame?

If it really is possible to start from the Level 6 memory bank as MESHUGGAH mentioned, and still beat the final boss and complete the game as in the video AnS posted, shouldn't these improvements be implemented in this run through further manipulation of the PRG register?

Shouldn't the time listed on the site (for this and other NES runs) be recalculated based on the correct frame rate of ~60.1 FPS?

What's the correct hash and filename for the TI-83 BIOS? Neither the hash nor accepted filename is listed in BIOS_Info.txt, and I've tried setting several different ROMs manually with Set Customization but haven't found anything that's worked.

Oh, wow! This new release is a huge improvement in performance on my machine. Max throttle speed in GBCHawk went from 77 fps in 1.5.1 to 400 fps in this! Thanks, BizHawk team!

It's a nice run, but there are some unoptimized parts, as others have said. At 31:34 in the encode, can't you jump on the Koopaling's head any sooner the second time? It looks like you can save at least two seconds there.

Good point, feos. I also agree with AnS' idea.

I think this is publish-worthy, but I'm on the fence about how entertaining I found it. Glad I have the option to vote Meh (which I just utilized).

Very nice run! Not sure about whether "Peach only" is a publishable goal, but I thought this was entertaining. Yes vote!

You're welcome. Congratulations on the Star! And I think you might have to be the one to ask to get the movie file replaced, since you're the author.

I don't know if someone was planning to set the rerecord count through the site instead (or if that's even possible), but here is the movie file with the rerecord count set to 0. Someone with the necessary privileges can replace the current submission with this file to have the submission page display the rerecord count as Unknown. I also took the liberty of adding the author's name in the designated space in the dtm (to help protect his work).

I like the fourth one the best. I think it really shows how fast-paced the action is in this run.

I don't know what the fastest speed run is, but this is the fastest TAS of it I found.

I know it uses hard reset, but I think it was mentioned somewhere that it could be resynched to work with an ingame soft reset.
All it takes to replace the hard reset with a soft one is 13 extra frames and some different input at the very beginning. Hopefully it's not a problem that the input time would have to be changed like that. I would love to see our movie played back at the marathon though.

Alt + the number keys toggle autofire for each individual button. You should be able to set custom keys for those toggles using Options>Input>Customize All Commands.

Is there a 64-bit version, by any chance? It doesn't look like this will work with the 64-bit A/V sync build I have.

I was wondering about that too. Why was this published to the Vault instead of Moons? All of the comments were positive and the majority of the votes were Yes.
