I have to wonder if the thread wasn't originally about musical instrument playing skills, rather than talent at composing music... (Because in the latter case I would have quite a bunch of songs I could post.)
I believe you can post music you've composed as well. That should fall under "musical skills".

Also cool idea with the music moves. We are going to need a redesign of the publication page to keep all flags it may need.
We could stack the flags vertically instead, in the empty space on the outside of the description or the screenshot, and in descending order of importance (star would be at the top). Regarding the frame war flag, what difference is the level of optimization between a highly optimized run that an author knows is unimprovable (like Super Mario Bros "warps") and a run that happened to have a frame war to get to the same level of optimization? Wouldn't this be unfairly giving a run that was born from a frame war this "optimized" status and withholding it from a run like SMB warps?

I agree with NitroGenesis, Guga, and Mothrayas. The screenshot should be from a frame in the run itself that makes people want to watch the movie (see the Mario 64 publication pages for some good examples).

Also, it says ALL about the movie :P
If the run was "painful to watch", it wouldn't have been published as a Moon.

This is the first published Lynx run, correct? Shouldn't that be noted in the publication text, along with giving the movie a "notable publication" icon?

Since you're not able to finish the improvement right now, I think you should go ahead and submit it.

Thanks for encoding it, natt. The run looks great, GlitchMan! You actually made this game entertaining. Are you planning to submit it?

I figured out how to change the palettes for GB roms, but that button is greyed out when a GB Color game is loaded. It would be nice to have the color fixed or at least be able to change the palette to normal GBC colors.
I object strongly to your referring to whatever crap VBA shits out as "normal" GBC colors. However, your requested feature has been implemented in SVN.
I know now that VBA's "real colors" option doesn't really show the real GBC colors, and apologize for confusing you. Thanks for implementing that though.

I agree with everyone else. It's not a pacifist run if you shoot people. I don't think this should be published.

Wow, that was impressive! Your avoiding certain death by a few pixels kept the run entertaining throughout. Great first TAS, Heidman. Yes vote! Publish as a Moon!

I understood probably one-fourth of the shout-outs, but I like how you broke this odd game. The moonwalking through walls glitch was funny, as was falling down through screens like in the A Boy and His Blob run. I'll go ahead and vote Meh for entertainment. If this game has enough information available to be published, I think it should be. While we're on the subject of Knytt Stories, someone should find a way to glitch out Don't Eat the Mushroom (best ending) and TAS it.

That is a very large image. The resources it required to load and be viewable actually slowed down the animation of your avatar in my browser. Maybe you could post a smaller version of the image? EDIT: Thank you.

It appears he disabled ratings and comments as well. Not sure why.

A run so nice, you submitted it twice. I didn't know a game about riding in a tube even existed, and I'm surprised that it's on the NES of all platforms. What a weird game. Penguins in the Yukon, a warp river with red water, and a whirlpool that leads to a prehistoric river. As for the run, I vote Meh for entertainment, as there were a lot of close calls with projectiles and other hazards. Definitely publish somewhere.

If you've made sure your run follows the Site Rules and is at least mostly optimized, you can submit it here.

No vote for entertainment. This run was pretty boring. There's no reason it shouldn't be published to the Vault though.

I'm glad you didn't leave, Abahbob. This is a great tutorial. I might use it sometime later.

Oh, I meant if someone unchecked both boxes and tried to vote to see if they could mess up the site. I wasn't aware that was the way to remove your rating though, so that functionality would be kept.

Your suggestion lacks the option of not rating on one of the categories at all, which I think should probably remain an option.
There could be checkboxes to the left of the sliders that are automatically checked, but can be unchecked to allow members to not rate in a certain category. To prevent abuse, if both boxes are unchecked, the rate button could become grayed out. And it would be great to have this on the publication page itself, as adelikat said.

This is my idea for a new way to rate movies to encourage more people to rate runs. (Please excuse the crudity of the animation.) It's simple and pretty fun to use. I don't know how hard it would be to implement though.

The obsoleted Pokémon Blue run. One of the first TASes I watched, and the first time I had seen the game in years. It also went from totally normal to totally glitchy as the run went on, and the glitches (like cycling over buildings and across water) blew my mind. It did seem like it took a while to get entertaining, but that could have been because I was really really tired.

Maybe an easy game from your childhood (like, on Game Boy Color or Advance). If it's short and easy to play, it's probably easy to TAS. I went with SpongeBob - Legend of the Lost Spatula for GBC for my first run. What games did you play as a kid?

I'm tired of TASVideos and all the shit going on recently. I'll come back eventually for TWW stuff. Bye.
So...you care about the site?
Abahbob actually did say there that he's coming back eventually. So that, combined with the length of his post, suggests that he will come back a lot sooner than MUGG, if MUGG ever does come back. I can't believe we lost two great TASers because of the new site changes though.

Yes, that one person was wrong to post that one TAS Competition thread. And I don't think you can delete it now. Just change the thread title and start a discussion on real-time speedrun competitions.
