Also the fire temple. (If we do the timer glitch and skip the tunic, but that's probably slower). @BOMF, Yeah, we skip both temples. But still, it's something to consider.

Okay, see, those bushes only give out rupees when your hearts are full. Since you took damage in the Deku Tree, you'll have to grab a heart somewhere before you can start getting rupees from the bushes and such.
Haven't seen the full run yet, but I take it he has completed the Deku Tree, and a bush is giving him hearts instead of rupees? Taking a detour to get a heart might be time costly. It might be more advantagous to get the heart container. It might be slightly slower, but having an extra heart might also help later on.

Same here, then I got to level 14-9 or so and well... yeah.
It goes up to about 1:40 with no problems, and then it turns into Bisqwit's Rockman 1 movie. Someone should make an AVI of that and submit it -- "Invents programming errors in the game" (and oh, this is my movie too... uh, I don't know what happened; it was perfectly fine while playing)
I hope so, I was beginning to think you were surviving on dumb luck after the game got buggy. I LOLed when the green piece went slightly offset and when 1mm off screen! Playback desynch anyone?

Yep, Reggie was, and still is one of the best clutch players, ever. My favorite player is Kevin Garnett, but I'm a Warriors fan (12 consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs, OH YEAH!) at heart. Anyone play fantasy sports?

I play, mainly for recreation. I'm about 6ft, so I play SF/PF. I'm not much of a scorer, but my D is above average, and I'm good at boxing out. I don't have much hops either. I'm a huge, huge NBA fan, too.

I'm Indian, more specifically, from Punjab. However, I was born in England, and moved to California when I was 2 years old. I've remained in Silicon Valley, more specifically, San Jose, for onwards of 18 years.

Going for all tetrises will end up killing you before you get anything major. This particular version of Tetris has nothing to stop it from dishing out strings of 5 of the same piece, or have any other way of effectively evening out... (of course, this is bad, since anyone who does any reading about the game will quickly learn that a large unbroken string of S and Z pieces will end in a forced loss, no matter what)
I mean, I keep a perfect stack of at least 4 with a gap on the right edge, as my opening move. When I clear that stack, I build it up again. If the stack gets too big before getting a red l piece, I can do countless recovery techniques. My goal is to keep 4 rows with a 1 gap for an l piece whenever possible, without risking death. I believe that is the best way to maximize your score? In the case of 5 s or z blocks, or any other garbage, I try to lay them as flat as possible.

I'm not sure how that compares to mine. How many points is 1 tetris starting at level 9? Mwhahaha, broke the top 10, sorry FODA, pushing you down ;).

Made the top 20 with by far the lowest time and lines. I like to go big, and go for tetrises every single time. Has anyone played tetris on the TI-89 graphing calculator, can anyone beat a score of 526046?

Very nice run (as always). I noticed that the 2 Secret Slide runs had times of 12.3 and 12.6 respectively. Does going diagonally make that much of a difference?! Isn't the human record 12.4 (I'm assuming they go diagonally also). I loved the way you optimized the 100 coin star on Bob-omb battlefield. Great job.

Wait, so what are all the Bombchu sources you're going to use now?
I'm not sure for the TAS route, but here are the probably sources: In the well, in the spirit temple, from bombchu bowling, magic carpet in DC, uhh, that's it. Early well might be the best one...

Additionally, as of now, there exists a peaceful harmony between TASer and Speedrunners at SDA (ok, so it's not a perfect harmony, but it's the best it's been in a while). The reason for this is that SDA is working with some TASers for glitch testing. We have found a lot of glitches through emulator testing, especially in the OOT topic. TSA (not to be confused with TAS) is the frontrunner for planning (and maybe executing) the OOT run (now feasibly under 4 hours). Arcyte, an SDA frequenter, decided that he liked glitch testing so much, he wanted to make a TAS of OOT. If we hadn't worked together, I doubt we would have made as much progress as we have done now :)

Don't you mean without the Nocturne of Shadow? Because I thought you got the Hover Boots IN the Shadow Temple.
LOL, sorry, thats what I meant. I mentioned hover boots, because you could enter the shadow temple WITHOUT the nocturne, but with the boots (through action replay/gameshark). But now we can do it with just bombs! Someone named Kazooie (read God) found this trick out, not me, and posted it on the SDA forums. I just wanted to post the update here. We have a lot new route possibilities now.

*gasps in awe and bows down to the floor* I'm guessing you'll be posting that in the SDA topic soon, otherwise I'd do it myself, since that's the biggest news since, well, maybe since the Ganon castle trick, but it seems like it's even bigger than that since it's been the holy grail of everything since the game came out, more or less. Anyway, it seems like that wouldn't be useful (I'd think) for a single segment run on SDA, but for a multiple segment or TAS, that changes everything. Now we just need to find out a way to get to that one spot in the spirit temple and we won't need the longshot. And who knows what else will be skippable?
Shadow is possible as a child now too! (but I'm not sure about entering it as a child before Jabu Jabu) Read page 18-20 on this topic: http://speeddemosarchive.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=consoles_newer;action=display;num=1139424279;start=285#285 There are videos too. There's this crazy spinning glitch that allows you to go through pits or something. We don't need the longshot or hookshot now!!! Bongobongo dies with about 100 hits with the kokiri sword!!!

We got into the shadow temple without hover boots (and the Nocturne)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to Kazooie who did this!! http://www.zippyvideos.com/5934588404090636/shadow_early/ Sub 4 console run here we come!!!! Apparently, you can beat shadow as a kid, but I'm not sure if you can pull off the bomb boost as a kid?

Quick question: Why did you put a message regarding SpikedHumor after the fight with BDD? Did they steal a run, pass it off as a legit speedrun, and claim it as theirs? Why at that location?
I got angry because of this page. spikedhumor.com/articles/9936/Emulated_Mario64_Highlight_Reel_re_encode.html No particular reason for that location. I just selected it because it's somewhere in the middle of it. I considered doing this practice for all published movies from now on (or at least ones of the famous games), but on the second thought, it might be in vain because I don't think these movies will be much in the interest of Spikedhumor after all.
As a consequence, Spikedhumor's reproduction of all material released by the Nesvideos site is expressly forbidden from now on.
I hate when that happens, although I found it funny that peope thought spezzafer was Korean... @Sami: Download the AVI, and look at the screen at around 15:52 seconds. You'll see a message at the bottom of the screen that Bisqwit (or Dehacked) put in.

Just watched the movie AVI, once again, very nice. Quick question: Why did you put a message regarding SpikedHumor after the fight with BDD? Did they steal a run, pass it off as a legit speedrun, and claim it as theirs? Why at that location?

A quality run in my eyes. Voting yes. The fact that it improves the original run, is enough reason itself to vote yes!

It's something random. Walking over them at the right frame enables you to not be grabbed. Meaning it's very possible to do it in a regular speedrun... you just need to be very lucky.
Is it solely the frame count? Or can you manipulate luck earlier on (like one jump in world 1-1 changes the frame? Or is it too difficult to tell?
