No one I know wanted those stupid bills to pass.
I do, so now you know at least one person. One thing I'd do with IRL TAS tools would be to prevent the need for these bills by helping the government catch the pirates before the issue became so large in the first place.

If I were to publish this, how much input would be required after the point where antd's link hangs?

He doubts you that you're being truthful. By the way, there's an edit button that you can use to edit your posts; you don't need to delete and repost.

He said manipulating game execution, not manipulating the ROM. Personally, I like the idea of calling it

although you could argue that that is not specific enough to what happens in this run.

MUGG: I used the standard resizing practices for YT encodes so that the final output fits the 4:3 display resolution of a TV.

Maybe we should move the debate to a more appropriate thread, since this one is supposed to be for asking Bisqwit questions. Bisqwit: What's your favorite hymn?

I assume Warp is talking about the fossil record, which has life starting in the oceans, proceeding from there onto the land, and only then moving into the air. That would make concurrent creation of air and sea creatures difficult.
In that case, how exactly have they come up with a chronological order of fossil records? Carbon dating?
They made some assumptions about the universe, life, etc. (like the idea that they came about purely by naturalistic means or that life progressed from "simple" to "complex" forms); interpreted observations they made in light of those assumptions (e.g., rocks with "simpler" forms of life are older than those with more "complex" forms); and interpreted further observations based on the earlier stuff (e.g., fossils show aquatic life, then terrestrial life, then aerial life, so life started in water, then moved to land, and then started flying). Ideally, the assumptions and earlier interpretations should be changed or even discarded when incompatible observations come up, but that may not happen due to concerns about reputation, popular opinion, and many other sources of bias.

I agree with Nahoc that it would be helpful to differentiate between the two.

What about a screenshot of Amagon's death animation at the end of 5-1? That might not have enough action, though, so barring that, I like the one with the hippo.
Yeah, the death sprite would be interesting, but the background is too bland in that situation. EDIT: Based on input from IRC and this thread, there were 2 votes each for screenshots 1 and 6, and 1 vote for screenshot 4. I went with the hippo picture because I like it better than the others.

Just to clarify, you need to provide the dupinfo and times files for the first pass and the dupinfo file for the second pass if you're not going to use the default names?
