I just watched this and compared it to [1715] NES Super Mario Bros. "warps" by HappyLee in 04:57.31, alternating between the two encodes after each level. Most of the levels have minor differences, typically at the end. The only surprising thing was the ending to 8-2, and I enjoyed the NTSC one more. This is too similar to publish separate from the NTSC warps run, IMO.

Here's a pair of interesting problems I ran across recently.
Let x = logb a. Use the logarithm property logb a = 1/loga b to rewrite the equation as x + 1/x = sqrt(293). Multiply everything by x and move all terms to the same side to get the quadratic equation x2 - x sqrt(293) + 1 = 0. The roots of the quadratic are x = (sqrt(293) +- sqrt(289))/2. Note that 289 = 172, which means that sqrt(293) - sqrt(289) < 1. Since a > b > 1, however, x must be greater than 1, so we can eliminate the difference as a value of x. Therefore, x = (sqrt(293) + 17)/2.
Use another logarithm change-of-base property to rewrite logab b = (log b)/(log ab) = (log b)/(log a + log b) in some non-a and non-b base. Then 1/logab b = (log a + log b)/(log b) = 1 + logb a = 1 + x. Likewise, 1/logab a turns out to be 1 + loga b = 1 + 1/x. Their difference is x - 1/x. Substitute x = (sqrt(293) + 17)/2 from above and simplify things to get the solution 17, which is choice B.

Someone named Yoshimaster96 made a disassembly (available on GitHub) of Monster in My Pocket and reported, "Holding A+B+SELECT and pressing START lets you skip the text screen at the beginning of the game." Is that type of in-game code allowed nowadays?

The graphical animations seem to pause a lot. Is that how the game behaves on hardware or just something with the encode/YouTube/my computer? It's very annoying.

A nice effort, for sure, but I think it would be more likely to succeed if legal measures were taken against planned obsolescence of non-entertainment products. I haven't watched any of the videos, but here's a potential unintended consequence: Companies change things so that you no longer buy games. Instead, you pay w amount of money for x minutes of access to some type of game streaming service, all to be used within y time period from the time of payment. Insert a bunch of legal terms here about how the game company is not responsible for anything if natural or technological disasters prevent you from said access. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if someone is already doing this.

Is starting at the top a limitation of this version of the game? That reference lists solutions with a shorter number of moves at other starting positions.

OK, so I know that there was some arguing about Desert Bus being too long, but can we at least agree that submissions must be viewable within a human lifetime?

Actually, the CD-i Zelda games ARE the best CD-based Zelda games by definition, because Nintendo never made any CD-based consoles- they skipped straight to Mini-DVD from the N64 to GameCube
Right, but there could still be only one of them as the first CD-i submission.
To get back on topic, my question about the cursor is still open.

Not enough Zelda, voting No.
Why did you choose Myst instead of one of the best CD-based Zelda games as the first(?) CD-i submission, btw? At around 1:40, it looks the wheel turns in the same direction despite you moving the cursor to different spots. Is there a point to moving the cursor?

Besides, why would a movie with different stylistic choices but the same final time be published in a separate category?
Because what one person finds "stylistic" is what another finds annoying?
Back to the topic at hand, I don't see why "Glitchless" would be considered unacceptable as a goal with a separate branch if "Forgoes Major Skip Glitch" is allowed, to use the wording from Wiki: Standard.
