I have received an offer for a video in Gaming, so it does not appear like the category is excluded.

Problem is, Punch-Out keeps desynching for me, so I can't get any good screenshot (same goes for Track & Field).
I can get them if someone has suggestions based on the encodes.

Fastest. I would use the situation as a way to press for any known but unimplemented improvements to the emulator, though.

I agree with Dwedit
<offtopic>In light of recent events, however, I might have some fun by putting up an encode of the longer movie on YT, waiting for someone to submit a version with replicated input, and then submitting the shorter version just before that other submission got published (:P). To be fair, I would include some vague mention of possible improvements so that any potential thief may have the opportunity to arrive at the shorter version himself.</offtopic>

Based on a highly reputable source, it appears that the average body temperature of a hedgehog is around 35 °C, whereas that of a human is around 37 °C. Furthermore, the former can decrease when hedgehogs hibernate. Thus, there is no contest about which mascot is cooler. Sonic ftw.

X2poet: Did you have any special settings enabled in the emulator? I get a desynch while fighting the helicopters in level 5.

How much time do you estimate could be saved using the Roll-Lift glitch on earlier bombs? Answered on IRC
<Tompala> Possibly 2 seconds
I'll wait for the full description to vote, but the movie itself looks great.

They check if you own an illegal TV set. In most European countries, you have to have a TV permit to legally own a TV set, which costs a certain amount each year.
What's the reasoning behind requiring TV permits? Do you need a permit to listen to the radio and access the Internet, too? With just that information, it sounds like a massive set-up for widespread censorship.

They really need that for america.
The only good I can see coming of it is maybe forcing some kids (probably from poor families?) to get exercise instead of sitting in front of the TV all day.

Wow, do you really have to wait 6 months to see a dentist in Finland? And what's a TV license inspector?

I suspect most people would prefer listening to her "music" than having surgery. Perhaps a better comparison would have been her versus truly talented music.

Just in the last hour or so, I've sporadically received the message "To view submissions, you must be logged in." when trying to access a submission page (examples: 32S, 2848S, 3224S). Sometimes I can see the submission without any problems, though. This has been happening in IE 8, Firefox 3.6.2, and Opera 10.53.

What about "PE" for primary encode, "DE" for downloadable encode...?
What's the difference between primary and downloadable encodes in that designation? I thought both terms referred to the one available via BitTorrent, [incorrectly] also known as SD.

I didn't notice too much of a difference between 20fps and 24fps. Like Lex said, 20fps seems to blink faster, which made the blinking of the purple stars/galaxies in the background of the terminal cutscene more regular. I also found the faster blinking at the end more annoying, though.

Which Super Metroid run do you mean? There are three branches.
