The only game I could possibly think of being an un-TASable game, would be some sort of counting game where to win you would have to hit some sort of unobtainable number, such as, to win the game one must count to the total quantity of atoms there are in the observable universe. the only hitch is that the counter button that you would need to press only goes up in increments of 1. Mathematically there is a quantifiable amount but in our life time or anything else's it is physically impossible to achieve that goal in increments of 1. do i win the thread? I can make this game for you if you want :)

I am super excited to open this thread to document and explore the Super Famicom game, Ganpuru Gunman's Proof. It is essentially a link to the past clone set in the wild west with no puzzle elements. From what I can gather, this little known title is currently un-TASed and has about 3 speedruns documented to youtube with the quickest time of 58:21 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HViF4J79jc This will be my first TAS movie that I have committed myself to and I think it would be a good starting point for me as a beginner. The obvious time savings that I can see are: - movement optimisation - after you kill the first boss you unlock an ability where if a monster drops a carrot you can ride your donkey friend with a great speed increase. If there is any way to manipulate this drop then an incredible amount of time can be cut off. - death warps back to town. - boss kills with manipulated bomb drops - boss kills with efficient shooting and movement. - once in the middle of the linked speedrun, the runner glitches the screen to scroll down into another area. if this can be used in any situation then the game could be broken but i will have to research more. (at around 25:30 in game time)

Are there any -rr emulators that work natively on linux? I am having nothing but trouble getting bizhawk to work through wine and I can't get it to work through Mono either. the only emulator I am having relevant success with is dosBOX but I havent given the -rr function a shot yet (if there is one). I am trying to get a movie going but I can't even get an emulator to work! D: p.s. I have a windows laptop but it runs like a potato and the monitor is tiny so that is out of the question. any advice would be appreciated, cheers!

I have been trying to import Warcraft Orcs and Humans as a HD disc image for JPC-rr and an error message came up saying "Too much data to fit into given space. [java.io.IOException]" the ISO files for the game are 562MB combined (WAR1.mdf and WAR1.mds) do I need to do something in particular to get it to import? I have the option to either "Dismiss" or "Save stack trace" StackTrace file states: Exception trace generated on 'Thu Jun 02 12:48:22 BST 2016' by version '29f61fc by Ilari Liusvaara on 2012-03-14 20:02:41 +0200' (release 11.7). Hello, I am a long time lurker and admirer of TAS' and I thought I would give it a go and dip my toes a little. I would like to start working on a movie for an RTS game, any will do at the moment however from what I can gather MSDOS and WindowsOS emulation is a bit finicky especially with stuff revolving around mouse control? I don't mind which RTS I start with but I wanted to stay clear from any console ports as they tend to be the inferior versions. Warcraft Orcs and Humans would be a game I would like to start on, but I don't mind trying a more accessible game if there are big limitations. Could anyone please give me some insight on how the re-recording emulators are at the moment for these type of games on these platforms? I see a few threads scattered about but they seems to be very old. My second choice would be Warcraft III but I think I would need to play this through the battle.net client? would this be an issue with a Windows emulator? p.s. I am on Arch Linux if that helps or not. Also, any tips and tricks would be appreciated :) Many thanks.
