You can read Apple's conditions on their website; IIRC they take 30% of the sales profits. (One could argue how fair it is for Apple to have a monopoly in selling iPhone applications. It's not like they haven't got in trouble for similar monopolies in the past, eg. with the iPod and its DRM scheme.)
Strangely, XBox Live takes the exact same amount, and has the same limitation - it is impossible to sell Xbox games any other way. I wonder if that would be considered a monopoly give the precedent set by apple...

Many people are developing such apps alone. Of course it requires a multi-talented person to do that (iow. you need to be good at programming, graphics and music, and depending on the game, also storywriting and level design), except in the cases where a laughably simple game (which looks like it was designed with MS Paint) gets immensely popular for whatever reason (as said, that sometimes just happens). Many games are made by two people (one programmer and one graphics artist).
Unfortunately, this, along with the previous issue (the flooding of indie games into the iPhone/Android/XBL/etc enviroment), means that getting noticed as an individual or small team of game developers is extremely difficult. In other words, unless someone gets lucky like you with your company, keep your day job.

I don't know if this is completely appropriate, but anyways, check these iPhone games: http://www.moidogames.com/wordspector/ http://www.moidogames.com/hopido/ http://www.moidogames.com/reaxxor/ What's so special about them, you might ask? Well, the programming is by yours truly.
How is this working for you? How much is apple taking from your bottom line? Is this a hobby or a job? Is the competition to get noticed pretty fierce? It looks like your dev team is 5 people, which is really cool. It's nice to see a return to the Atari days, where dev teams can be very small numbers of people.

The major problem with any "Top 1000"-list is this: Nostalgia is a wonderful thing until we actually go back and experience it... For this list to be fair and all that, you'd need to sit down and replay EVERY game again to be able to give a fair view on the list.
I'd say Nostalgia would still interfere with the list, as playing the game would bring back memories of enjoying it the first time around. The nice thing about opinion threads is that no one is wrong, but we sure can yell to high hell that they are! My personal list: 20. Star Wars (Arcade) 19. Tapper 18. Transport Tycoon 17. Lemmings 16. Final Fantasy IV 15. Dragon Warrior 14. Age of Empires II 13. Virtua-Tennis 12. Starcraft 11. Jedi Power Battles (Dreamcast) 10. Left 4 Dead 2 9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade) 8. Super Mario Bros. 3 7. Burger King Pocket Bike Racer 6. Mega Man 3 5. Actraiser 4. Legend of the Mystical Ninja 3. Shining Force 2. Final Fantasy VII 1. Quest for Glory: So You Want To Be a Hero My list is interesting, as there are a lot of unexpected games on that list. I have some form of connection or memory to every game on my list.

FBA has a limited subset of games that it can play, far less than MAME. While a 3 player Battletoads run would be awesome, it isn't happening with FBA anytime soon. Sorry.

Strangely, they don't mention what platform - the GBA version is shorter than the XBox version, by quite a bit.

Wow. I think this submission now has more NO votes than any other submission. Actually, sadly, this submission got more votes than most of my submissions this year combined. I'm now submitting all my runs as Super Sonic-Metroid-Mariovania in X:XX:XX.XX, regardless of the game.

Sorry to derail, but for input editing, I highly recommend FatRatKnight's multi-track script. Its actually less of a multi-track script, and more of an input editor. It just serves as a different option.

It seems like the zip file could be automated by the site. However, the standardization of the Pub'd movie files seems like it would need to be done by hand. That said, it'd be nice, since this work is already done, to replace all the movie files on the site with the proper file names.

I noticed in my first watch that you often created 2-3 enemy units, in various locations. Is there a reason to not just create one at the first place the map opens and forfeit?
