personally, i wouldn't watch this speedrun, even though this game is in my top 3 of all time, after mario 64 and WoW. I'd rather play it through for 15 hours than watch a video of it. the run through midgar might interest me...might. put the vids up and i'll check'em out.

that's cool. i didn't know there was adaptors. I'd have to dig out my old consoles to get my crappy controllers back out. i just play emulators any more because its easier than keeping 6 systems hooked up to my TV. i just keep GC and PS2 hooked up, the rest are in a box in my basement or at my parents house.

I'm wondering what the best controllers are for playing NES, SNES, or N64 games on my PC. I'm sure there's a different best controller for each system. Which do you all think is best? does it matter if i'm doing TAS or just playing around with a game? i currently use the MS sidewinders. they do ok, but kinda suck for diagonals. otherwise, they are ok.

Yes, it would be long--the longest movie (and effort) undertaken for this site, I have no doubt. I suppose the reason I suggest "far-out" efforts like this is because I believe that while there will always be a sizeable audience to watch the old-school games, such as platformers or shooters, or even some of the more obscure selections, games they may have played in their youth or still do, I believe that a truly unique game, or one that requires such a hurculeran effort, would truly be a one-of-a-kind movie, such as Morimoto's famous efforts (until they were beaten by people on this site.)
what is the longest tool assisted speed run video?

the quickest speedrun i've seen is the 3 hour one. I know it could be done in about 215 minutes though. I'd like to give it a shot sometime. I'm playing through the DS version now, it's wierd getting used to it.
