Thanks for the encode, ShinyDoofy! The run was fun, though I agree that if there were a few more levels it'd start to wear a bit. Nice pacing and the occasional surprise make for a yes vote. That's one disturbing rabbit.

Are you maybe thinking about Gun Force? A really terrible game, by the way, but I'm pretty sure you could control vehicles at some point.

I look forward to seeing this on the workbench. :) I don't think a 15KB file is going to load down the servers particularly hard. Aren't most movie files on about that scale anyway? One of the moderators would probably know how to add the subtitles file to the publication once it's finished.

Not having seen this run yet, my only main concern with it is that if it's published, that will make it much harder for an entirely glitchless run to be published in the future, since this is the last plausible category I can think of for this game. Of course, I myself lack the skill to make such a run, and I'm not about to try to dictate to marzojr what he can and can't do.

Man, I had no idea about that shield weapon! That just completely wrecked the last level. Also neat to see how frequently times for different levels favored different teams. It was interesting to see two runs side-by-side, and there's a major advantage for this game in that the music doesn't get garbled, making it a lot more pleasant to listen to than most comparative videos. Thanks for the encodes, mz! Edit: how random is the game? Would it be remotely feasible to splice together the best levels from each team into a single run? This breaks down when e.g. the fastest time for level 3 relies on a weapon that wasn't grabbed in level 2, say. But would it work for situations where that isn't a problem?

Distributing ROMs is illegal, and also against the forum rules. So don't do that.

How much do the dungeons impact your route, though? MQ seems ideally-suited for an all-dungeons run, since that would highlight the differences between OoT and MQ. If you do RBA, then your run will look almost identical to the OoT RBA run currently being made by some very experienced TASers. That will make it difficult to justify publishing it in addition to that run; in all probability your submission would be rejected.

A five-year bump to make a one-word post? That seems a little pointless.

Wow, a Kirby game that hasn't immediately devolved into spamming Wheel! ...instead we see Bird get spammed. Oh, well. Nice work!

Hrm...how does MQ differ from the original game outside the dungeons? I only played it once, and that was years ago, but IIRC outside the dungeons isn't it identical to the original version?

As a general rule, you should get your hack approved by the admins before submitting (or possibly even making) a run. There's millions of SMB hacks out there and very few of them would be good enough to be worth having a run up on this site, given the current publication system (no mechanism for niche movies, etc.). Edit: Whoops! I thought this was for his hack submission. Two movies for almost the same game, by the same author, on the workbench at the same time. Oh, well...

Aww, your lazy link was taken down. :( But the previous version looked good, so 10 seconds better must be awesome, right? :) Congrats on finishing this stage!

Generally for fighting games, it's better to go for entertaining matches rather than the fastest possible completion of the game. I agree with Toothache; this run is very repetitive and doesn't really offer anything new after the first bout of the first match. Voting no.

Um...actually, I don't remember if it counts. I'd guess so, though, since the alternative is "dying" by running out of time. Still worth checking, of course.

I suggest going for the best ending, for no other reason than to see you optimize the bonus levels, which are a nontrivial amount of additional content. I'm not convinced that 100% is a worthwhile goal though. I say get enough cool points to get each bonus level, and then in the bonus levels themselves, try to get the letter and then suicide as quickly as possible.

Okay, fair enough. Still, anyone who saw the nomination and wants to try playing the game normally now won't have to get stuck if they try Hard mode. :)

Isn't it possible to manipulate the clear bonuses to be the minimum value? That would save time at the score tally. Likewise, it should be possible to manipulate the bonus object in Ice Man's stage to not drop (or to just avoid it). In Wily 1, you shoot a block with Elecman's weapon from a significant distance. Elecman's weapon creates massive lag. Could you shoot it from closer to reduce lag? Man, jumping against the Yellow Demon creates a lot of lag...might be faster to run through it and hide on the other side while it's busy teleporting? You have plenty of health to spare.

I'd be a bit worried about such a thread encouraging non-native speakers to avoid posting in the "pure" English threads. Even if it's not the intent, I could easily see it creating a sort of second-class citizen: "You go post in this thread over here, please; those of us who can speak English properly will use the rest of the board." I do think that whenever non-English languages are used, a translation should be provided in the same post, even if it's just Google Translate.

Oh, I should've thought to nominate Ranger X! Excellent choice, and I look forward to seeing the results. One quick note to make certain nobody gets stymied: on the hardest difficulty, some floating platforms are removed from the tower level. This makes one of the ascents seemingly impossible, but if you crouch before jumping, then you get a little extra height. This isn't documented in-game, obvious, or stated in any of the GameFAQs articles that I read, so I think it's fair to mention it.

No. We do not distribute ROMs here or tell you how to obtain them. You'll have to figure that out for yourself.

In English: I can speak a little French, but I'm not a TASer, so I probably can't help you with the tools and emulators you will need to use. Sorry. You can ask me if you have questions, but there's no guarantee I'll be able to help you.

I'd say third, then first, then second is my ranking. (Also: <3 for TASVideoAgent's "Hi! I am a bot" reference)

Bienvenu! And now in English: Welcome! Your English isn't so bad -- you just have to practice a bit. :) Like me, my French isn't so good, but I hope you can understand me. There's a thread on Secret of Mana here full of techniques and tools, but I have to agree with Funnyhair: it would be too difficult to TAS for a beginner. RPGs always require you to pay attention to statistics and equipment, and it's not uncommon to find that you have to start over after you've almost finished the TAS. Secret of Mana is particularly difficult because you have to control three characters at the same time.
