The optimization level seems to be better comparing to my TAS. The goal choice a little weird because, unlike 100% goal, nothing is shown in the end. On the other hand, you picked not boring levels, therefore providing a higher level of entertainment. Overall, yes vote

I never knew PvZ on DS had puzzle levels. Looks enough entertaining for me to vote Yes. Unfortunately, you need to provide a movie file which achieves the conditions you use to begin the game TAS.

These are more specialized TAS tools. I was thinking of instances where it's built in to the base game. The Quake and MW tools might be suitable to add to that page.
Wow, it's an interesting page! What I mean is, CoD 4: MW has respective console commands to set a timescale, record a demo and play it back in normal time.

- DSDA-Doom, XDRE (sourceports for Doom) - frame-by-frame building and editing, an input brute-forcer to achieve specific conditions. - Half-Life and other GoldSrc games. Here's the thread about the software which provides full spectre of TAS tools. - TASQuake (sourceport for Quake 1) - similar tool set to Half-Life. - Trackmania - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - contains slow motion, replay recording. MW2 (2009) seems to have the same tools.

I finished making a TAS today for beating 50% of the quests in Bejeweled 3. I'm not sure how known it is but I think it's possible to manipulate the game's luck a bit farther by purposefully making invalid matches at precise moments, causing the gem colors the game is about to drop to be rerolled (this manip doesn't seem to work all the time such as sometimes during ongoing combos, but otherwise it's pretty helpful). It's also possible to manipulate the luck of the starting gem board on each quest depending on the order you select levels in, which is especially helpful for levels that you want certain beneficial starting boards on (Balance quests starting with a lot of reds/blues, Stratamax quests starting out with more 4+ gem combos, etc). Still a pretty luck-based game overall, but with this manip and fast level routing overall I managed to get this run under 9 minutes. File link: User movie #638269707232963338
I didn't expect anyone to contribute to beating this game. What a great improvement! 2,5 minutes ahead of my LOTAD. I suspected invalid matches would affect the random, but I didn't dig much into it because my brief tests showed no effect.

Multi-disk games in 5.0-16426 release don't work and, judging by code changes, 5.0-16793 has this issue too. Looks like, GC core hasn't been added to some other array of systems which is used to read XML files generated in multi-disk bundler. There are also no options to open and close the tray to change the disc. Maybe they will show up after an XML file has been loaded, I don't know. UPDATE: this issue is actual, if you use GC ROMs of any format other than .iso. As a workaround, use Dolphin to convert your ROMs to ISO format, use Multi-Disk Bundler to form a new .xml and open this .xml file as a game.

If all you need to do is replace one movement with another one, why not use TAStudio?

Some games for GC and Wii feature Action Replay cheats which unlock 60 FPS, I think, by uncapping the framerate. Are they allowed to be used?

Can the TAS be played back using that .bk2 file alone, without the savestate?

I've only seen my friends playing THPS series and never tried it myself. This TAS looks very dynamic. Yes vote BTW, the credits video doesn't sync with audio.

I've never thought it's possible to make the map that playable, especially, with instant switches to the actual game to vice versa. If I had seen several hacks like that, I would have voted "Meh" here, but I have maximum impressions from it. As stated above, that's an improvement. I'm surprised how I missed it. Yes vote, but the score for the published run won't be that high from me.

The initial "destiny" scroll sequence could have been skipped. I absolutely love UMKT, but TASes in the mode of "1P + 2P vs CPU" lose to regular 1P TASes in terms of entertainment. While single player attracts the audience with difficult combos, "flirting" with CPU which tries its best, but still cannot do anything major to the player and other moves which a game fan not expects to see, 2 players don't do anything but perform infinite combos on a CPU which at best manages to do a single step throughout a fight. Finishing moves, on the other hand, show a different angle for entertainment. Yeah, they look messy because of more and more objects being spawned on the screen, but at least this TAS tries to take advantage of CPU which finally gets freedom to spoil things up.

Wow, I felt the sense of deja-vu that I've already seen a similar game. Yeah, sounds and voices would really need an upgrade, and the scores counting up on the last mission sound really repulsive. Overall, yes vote

So do you think the reason why this wasn't done at all was because of lack of interest in accuracy? Do you even think that it is possible?
Most likely, that's indeed can be lack of interest. End users usually don't know what is the percentage point, below which a game is considered "inaccurate", so they end up sending good feedback and developers, accordingly, don't see big demand towards accuracy improvement. What's regarding developers, sure they know the accuracy situation better, but at some point, they don't consider further time investments reasonable to push emulation accuracy further. I see 2 obstacles here: - the difficulty - developers know what the problem is, but it may be complex and require a lot of time coding and testing, - the uncertainty - developers doesn't know what the problem is, so they end up re-reading available documentations for 101th time and doing micro-adjustments to the complicated architecture to see if it improves accuracy and not ruins anything else. Sorry for bla-bla-blaing P.S: I agree with CasualPokePlayer

Hmm, so in other words, accuracy to the original console, huh. So are you alright with an emulator that runs at an abysmal 10FPS in exchange for it being one of the most accurate emulators of a console, esp considering that other consoles don't even come as close to this emulator in terms of accuracy?
Well, I think more experienced people may give a wider feedback on this regard, but from my point of view, the priorities should be in the following order: 1. Moderate emulation accuracy - have approximate emulation regarding games' graphics, sound and logic. In short, have most games playable, completable and going by the flow how a real PS2 game works, without all those crazy glitches which can skip half the game which cannot be done on a real PS2. 2. TAS movie playback stability, so a person would "almost never" have cases of movie desyncs, so he would have to be redo everything again. TASing is a very time-consuming process. Desyncs spoil this =( 3. Tolerable speed while maintaining points 1 and 2. 4. High emulation accuracy If you'll have an emulator being 99.9% accurate to the real PS2, this will be a revolution, since even Dolphin cannot achieve it (at least, in terms of TAS verification on the real console).

I have doubts you will obsolete Akheon's playaround movie. With the lack of user feedback nowadays, it's gonna be debatable if your entertainment value will be considered higher than his. On the other hand, the judges may implement extra tiers, like "playaround, volume 2". You'd better ask them out.

The Harakiri moment wasn't fast enough and it didn't look that entertaining, so the speed/entertainment trade-off here is questionable. Still, the TAS was pretty watchable and relatively fun. Yes vote.

One of the few Japanese NES games I've played in my childhood. What a great discovery the bot has found! That screen scroll that immediately takes to the end of a level. Yes vote. But I'm still wondering what was the point in decreasing your health during the battles, if you could just take damage. It would drain more cosmo points? Also that cosmo draining on the last battle. What it necessary?

Looks optimized, but I have 1 question. Isn't it faster to turn around in the air and cover more distance while you fall down being dead?
