Yeah I don't know I could try to make it a little better. I've seen a few of your vids, I do like them. Would be interesting to see how you do 7 computers...heheh.

Obviously this is no where near what a possible record could be, but from what I heard the fast way isn't exactly fun to watch. So I made a little something that might be more pleasing to the eye. I destroy all the computers by getting the Railroads, Boardwalk and Parkplace all in one round the board. If anyone wants to do a serious 7 computer own run, please feel free. I don't have the programming skills to break apart the randomizations. heh. Just a perfectionist I be ;) Anyway, enjoy. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IquY959xyO4

Wow, I honestly wondered how this could be beaten again. When I watched this I was like "well that's a really awesome idea" Then seeing how easy it is, I began wondering why no one had thought to do it before...

Heheh, my favorites were the 60 yard field goal, 100 yard pass and getting a safety when you should have had a touchtown.

Heh, as if I have to add my yes vote. This must be one of the highest voted for runs of all time. Very well done. The famed 0 star run is finally here huh?

Before I make a fool of myself and vote no like I have before...how had you planned on getting to the credits? If I'm not mistaken it's required to input until the credits. Otherwise I love this run. Who knew right? such vast improvements. Makes me think I should just stop TASing. I'm only a perfectionist, not a programmer.

As much as I was hoping there wasn't as much to gain as I had gained, this is certainly a good improvement. I can't spot where the time was saved by eye. Since I made this movie I've changed my view on trying to TAS these games. If I can't see the improvement there is no point. Of course I add my yes, as promised...

I'm glad someone finally got around to beating this. I was still new at TASing, can't believe this run stayed up as long as it did. Heh.

Grats on the run! It's pretty close to perfection. Better than this would be to try to duplicate it while trying to save a few frames here and there (and there's not much to be saved). I'm impressed by the battle manipulation you managed to do. The mimics capture were both impressive, the first one had 4% to be captured with the herb and the second one had 5% with the meat. Good job manipulating the maps, and I do know how hard this could have been (did you build some tools to do it or did you do it manually(!)). You did a very good job at destroying the game. I'm happy I could be of some help with the memory addresses. I'm even happier to be able to see your run.
First off, thanks. I must say I am flattered to have this yes from you. You have more knowledge of this game than I could have ever obtained by myself. I agree that a few frames could be saved here and there. I would like to try again at some point... Wow, how did you figure out my chance of capturing the mimic? I manually played around with certain things until I got it to happen, both the meat and the herb were VERY rare, I do know that. I even tried the first mimic with nothing, and the second with the herb. That was epic fail. I manipulated maps manually. I'm not computer friendly...everything was manual. I'm not an RPG manipulation wizard like Nitrodon or such. Simply a perfectionist. :) Maaaany retries...maaaany retries...*shudders* Thanks again! Very glad you enjoyed my run! I couldn't have destroyed it as well without you!

This would be a terribly long and boring 100% run. I'm impressed at how much luck manipulation was done. This game usually takes weeks, but you managed to find monsters that were some sort of gods. Yes vote for how much you destroyed this game. Here's a possible screenshot:
Hehe, thanks. Yeah I agree it would be a boring 100% run, I still don't think I ever got to what one would call 100% on my gameboy cart. Luck manipulation is fun...especially when you know how rare critical hits are in this game.

I spent tons of time with this game over the past ten years, and I must say I was completely surprised when I first saw this submission. And the tactic was a real curveball, something I knew HAD to be possible but didn't think could actually be implemented. Not only have you taken a third of the time of the last world record I know, you managed to complete the run without ever breeding a single monster - the latter of which impressed me more. Definite Yes vote.
*smiles and blushes* Why thank you! It definitely took some planning and then re-planning, but I'm proud of it...I certainly appreciate your yes vote cause you had started the other thread. Thanks. :3

I loved this game for some reason, I was never good at it nor do I like the genre in general. Guess it was just a good game. Heh. I vote yes, I loved seeing those insanely high scores. XD

it's a nice run^^ Allthough a 100% run would be greater of course xD Nevertheless I enjoyed it^^ Pretty awsome what you can do with Luck Manipulation XD
Wow, 100%. That would take me weeks just to plan. Probably be a multiple hour long TAS if I did. All monsters have to be level 10 before you can breed them. Some monsters are rare and take a lot of breeding to get. You're more than welcome to try this if you think it's possible. ;)

Pure Katakana consisting entirely of loanwords is not Japanese.
Yeah, we can just call it "Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland" if we wanna get THAT fancy. XP I've played both DWM games for GBC, and only gotten to post-game on the second one, with the first still kicking my ass. Beating this game in under 40 minutes is TRULY amazing. Nice work! *yes*
Hehe, thanks so much I appreciate it. i wasn't sure if anyone was going to recognize this game. It's almost as notorious as playing Dragon Warrior for the first time.

I thought this run had fizzled out after not seeing any posts in the thread for a few months. This was amazing. While people who have never played this might not understand the difficulty this game presents normally, rest assured that this was amazing. Watching it with the input command view turned on was entertaining as well. Yessss
I hadn't even started this run because of that thread. In fact I didn't know the thread existed til I was done with Hale. I played this game because I played it through on my gameboy. Oh the batteries that went into this game, haha. I'm glad you find my "random" inputs entertaining. XD This game is a manipulation nightmare, and a blessing at the same time.

*laughs* I hadn't really paid attention to it before today. That's funny. Yes my 38 minute epic battle to get from my fireplace to the king.

I've been playing around with this game a bit. It seems as though a TAS of this game would be COMPLETELY different from playing the game normally. I'd go as far as saying that picking up the extra monsters and leveling up won't be worth the time versus just going right for the boss monsters and picking them up. Edit: Hmm, is the original TASer almost done with his run? I started playing with it even farther and now I'm about 80% done with the game... >_>

Wasn't sure where to put this. I asked AnotherGamer where I should post it so blame him if this isn't the thread I should have posted it in. :P Anyway, this is a play through of Super Mario Bros where I've adjusted the value for speed (0057) to 67...which is the highest speed I could get without the game being forced to wrap around itself...heh. I tried playing with the value adjusted to 127, which is the the highest speed attainable by Mario. But the game kept wrapping around itself and I eventually land in a endless loop when I pass the "real" flagpole. If you don't want to mess with the emulator or just don't know how to cheat in FCEU, I also uploaded this to youtube. Can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09q001KoVrA Rom used: Super Mario Bros. (JU) [!] Emulator: FCEU 0.98.16 (works in 0.98.15 too) Cheat: ROM 0057 adjusted to 67 FCM: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1206547090/SMBjokerun.fcm A few notes: I'm not trying to break any records with this! It was just for fun! That's why I didn't try to be an idiot and submit it. Heh. I had to warp to world 5 because I couldn't get the exit to appear right. With this cheat I am forced right at all times. So I go to 5-1 and finish from there. Other than that, just enjoy what mayhem comes of it. Finally, feel free to make another such run, man I'd love to see what kinds of things come from super speed!

I liked the run, I didn't have any beef with it. It was nice seeing those moves all nice and crisp. Unless there is a new tech found..I don't know. Doesn't seem like there's another 4 seconds in there.

Thanks for all the help so far. Sorry if my strategy is unclear. I think the biggest concern in the beginning of the game is the spirits. If I try to save time by avoiding them I lose that time 3 fold in battles where I could have used them...that pretty much explains about every second used that doesn't look useful. As for my progress? Fortunately of unfortunately videogames aren't a huge part of my life. I work on TAS when I have nothing else I could possibly be doing. Lots going on in my life right now. I'll get back to it at some point...

Thought it would be a little faster if you lost some life but I suppose i can see why you did that.
Just in case I wasn't clear enough in the submission text, in the US version, all enemies and bosses kill you from full health in one hit. Taking damage to save time would be faster, but is impossible on this version and difficulty level.
I may have overlooked it, I thought I read the submission text. Wow, then beating it on hard is definitely a worthy accomplishment!

I'm kinda torn from the start before I even watch this movie. I HATED the last run of this game because of all the backward walking. Faster or not this may be, it's highly annoying...you don't even get to see anything. Pretty much 2 hours of watching the back of links head. With that said I think I will watch this movie...perhaps someone should make the "entertaining version" of this game by making "no backward walking" a rule. XD EDIT: It desyncs for me too, but I think mostly because I didn't get the right version. Oh well. I was already sick of Links head...
