I playback this movie with a different sound plugin (Peops DSound Audio Driver 1.9) But then it desyncs half way through Scrabiana.
I also made some tests with different audio plugins, I think it was on my first submission, but despite it having a better sound quality, the desync will occur ramdomly, making it impossible to fix. It's been a long time, so I'm not sure if TASing it from the start using other sound plugin would still desync, but I'm pretty certain it will.

Too bad we're still not able to skip both Paramonia and Scrabania, but it is always good to have the most up to date set of glitches showcased. There's also a new trick called Dismount Elum While Moving, but it's too unstable to have any practical application. I agree with got4n about it being a small improvement, so I'm also voting meh, but I don't mind if I'm a coauthor or not.

That's a really arbitrary goal if you ask anyone here, but since you didn't I can only see two possibilities; 1) you are still inexperienced with the submission system. In this case, visit the forums to seek advice from other members, most of us enjoy helping newbies, please give it a try. 2) you are one of those banned guys who just want to mess with the system. In this case, no one care anymore, you're wasting your time, most of us have better things to do. Give up already.

Any ideas on how to fix it?
Send your file to me (PM), and I'll try to fix it for you. I've been using TAS Movie Editor in all Abe's runs and it's hex friendly, but sometimes I had to fix it manually. About the 100% planning, there are few uses for the Bird Portal trick, you can only use it if there are no Mudokons near the portal. The Dismount Elum While Moving trick is really interesting, but dangerous at the same time; use it twice and you can't move abe around, you control only Elum and a "stuck Abe" in front of it (funny, but useless), and you won't be able to advance to a next area. Sometimes you can dismount more times, but I don't know what's the requirement. In short: 1) there are only three places to use the Bird Portal trick to save time 2) lots of places to use the Dismount Elum trick, but it's unstable 3) the short cut from the casualties run also works on the 100% run 4) some movements can be cleaned up a bit, like pulling levers Well, it won't be an amazing improvement, but an improvement nevertheless. And while I'm at it, I'll test the DDG using bees on Monsaic Lines a little more.

It's an interesting trick, but there's something different on VELHO's run; his score seems to go up faster than yours. Is it because he's more inside the fish? I may be wrong about it, so I'll wait for an answer before voting. edit; Yeah, VELHO's run, even playing in real time, reaches the maximum score a lot faster than this submission, so my vote is No.

Great! Thank you, Samlaptop. I'm still not working "officially" on a new 100% run, but I'm planning some of the rescues using the new tricks. As you may know I'm trying to learn English, I mean the spoken English, and it's taking almost all of my spare time. It even ruined one of my projects recently, I had to abandom it due the lack of time to work more consistently on it. So, I'll start a new 100% run of Abe's Oddysee only when I can dedicate "100%" of my time to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Thank you, feos. But I miss the excitement when I found out that there were a Brazilian version of the game. The time I asked r57shell to help me with the project and the apprehension if he would accept or not. Every new trick we found, every stage we cleared. The pleasure to finish the first play through. The plans for the final run... I'll miss this project. I know that I've made some important contributions for the run, well, at least in the first play through, like the double jump for example. But I usually "play" the games, I don't calculate things to find the shortest path from point A to point B. That's how I have been doing all my runs; playing. r57shell on the other hand is a precise TASer, if there's a single frame to be saved somewhere, he keeps trying and using his tools until it's saved. I asked him many times to relax a little, that we don't need to punish ourselves so much to make this TAS, but he just kept pushing harder and harder. I don't know why he dislikes BizHawk so much, and I respect his decision to keep away from it. But I must respect my decisions too. So, I'm sorry, but I'm not only putting the run on hold, I'm really out of the project.

Thanks for your comprehension, but the lack of WIPs is not the real cause of me being unmotivated. The technical level of the run got to a point where I was contributing less and less for the progress. Things like subpixels, floating acceleration, math that I barely understand among other tech thingies. Also, even working all night long on a stage, I was not able to keep up with you and your "version" of the stage was usually used as part of the run, not my "version". It was bombing my self steem, my desire to keep finding time savers and of course my motivation to play the game. So, who is to blame for this situation? I am to blame, not you. You were doing the best for the run, but I was just falling behind.

I'm sorry to ask such an obvious question, r57shell; are you upset? You said that you are happy, but by your words, I'm not so sure... In any case, it's none of my business, but you made sure to let it clear that it's mainly my problem. And it might be, so let's eliminate the problem; I've enjoyed being part of this run, but I'm out of the project. Please note, it's not a hasty decision, and it is not only because of your post, no it's not. I have been thinking about it for quite some time now, and I guess it would happen sooner or later. (I'm pretty sure you will understand why.) Again, I'm sorry to get out so soon, but I wish you the best of luck with all your projects. Thanks for everything.

Looks like we do have a problem here; I understand your preference for Gens over BizHawk, but we're stuck on those damn platforms. Also, I've lost something really important, or maybe the most important thing on a TAS; motivation... So, before it reaches a point that would lead me into dropping the project, I'll keep on working on a BizHawk version. You don't need to worry about it interfering in our main project, because it won't. It may even lead to important discoveries. Well, in fact it already showed something, pretty much like what happened with the Snes9x 1.43 vs 1.51; the BizHawk version will be slower! So, what that means? How can it help us with the "platform problem"? 1) the RNG will be different once we reach them platforms, maybe better luck 2) we already have good strategies, no need to recreate things from scratch 3) we will have a readily available version in case Gens become obsolete Again, don't worry, you won't have to touch BizHawk if don't want to, I'll work on it as a parallel project.

Here are some, hopefully, good news; The shaman skip was improved even more, but it's still not enough to break a frame rule on the moving platforms. We may restart the run in BizHawk, it'll only depend on the results of a (very slowly) test I'm doing, and of course, r57shell agreeing to switch to a new emulator. And here's the bad one; We're not going to work on the Gens version for a while. It doesn't mean the run will be put on hold, it's just a well deserved rest.

I'm also embracing the idea suggested here, not only because of the revenue, but also for the increased quality in our runs which the new policy would induce.

Thank you, guys. I was trying to reproduce Samsara's Sprite Overload trick, when I found the fast draw trick and it motivated me to try an improvement.

Well, not yet. It can still be rejected, or cancelled, who knows? Also, "Samsara's Sprite Overload trick". I'm sorry, but your name will be forever associated with this game. :)

I never had the chance to play this game as a kid, but I think I would have enjoyed it. So, here's another Yes vote to you. I also agree with mklip2001 about the quality of your game play, the skills shown in this TAS are not obvious for a casual player.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I was using the old system for so long that I completely forgot about that. The prereq installer solved the problem. Thank you, adelikat.

Not really a bug per se, but recently I had to format my HDD and I'm now using Windows 8.1 64 bit. Well, BizHawk doesn't even start; no errors, no exceptions nothing. Anyone else with this issue? Is there a known solution?

I admit I was kinda "when are they going to double ko this time?", and I'm a little disappointed by the lack of it, but it was pretty entertaining.

Okay, here's a briefing of our progress, just to let you guys know we're not fooling around. :) 1) Mojo Mansion completely redone and improved. 2) First boss, Spider, pretty much maximized. 3) Shaman's skip improved (a lot!) 4) Working on the moving platforms of Ninja Training Grounds at the moment. In short, everything will be smoother on the final version.

if you killed enough Mudokons, it says you have infinite grenades on a new game.
I wish! You would be able to skip Paramonia and Scrabania this way in a new game+ any% run. But after beating the game with the maximum casualties you can't start a new game. Instead, you start near that Mudokon you must rescue in order to advance, in Zulag 1 I think. Also, you can't use a grenade in a place you can't collect one, even the infinite ones; the game, the emulator or even your Windows will hang...
