It's 00:57.24 faster, because 50 fps (use 2862@50 syntax) Oh! 3.063 speed everywhere! But you sometimes don't use turn back to gain speed... Dat spikes jump!!!! Additional combo pick up, nice :) I think, you can beat skeleton platform frequently to gain more speed (I'm noot sure). But, DAT BOSS RUN :S. I didn't even know that there is some window between his block states. Awesome. If you are ready to start final run, then I'll ask you to make mansion until first door. There is many circumstances why I want to split there... (rotating leafs, tap dance, and magnetic push tests...) Send it in private. Final run: it will be long way........

Fifty frames, damn, I forgot it. :) But, great, I'll start it tonight and I'll send it to you as soon as I make it to the first door.

Okay, here's a briefing of our progress, just to let you guys know we're not fooling around. :) 1) Mojo Mansion completely redone and improved. 2) First boss, Spider, pretty much maximized. 3) Shaman's skip improved (a lot!) 4) Working on the moving platforms of Ninja Training Grounds at the moment. In short, everything will be smoother on the final version.

They are. Improvements keep coming and the result is reported to be so amazing they don't want to spoil.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I just watched the run. I didn't expect the Genesis version to be that different from the SNES one! It really makes for a better TAS than SNES as well, even though I don't really like the music for Genesis, oh well :). Neat run at least!

Here are some, hopefully, good news; The shaman skip was improved even more, but it's still not enough to break a frame rule on the moving platforms. We may restart the run in BizHawk, it'll only depend on the results of a (very slowly) test I'm doing, and of course, r57shell agreeing to switch to a new emulator. And here's the bad one; We're not going to work on the Gens version for a while. It doesn't mean the run will be put on hold, it's just a well deserved rest.

Nope, of course I don't agree.

I'm going to work on Gens version, but when I want. As I always saying: do what you want to do.

Looks like we do have a problem here; I understand your preference for Gens over BizHawk, but we're stuck on those damn platforms. Also, I've lost something really important, or maybe the most important thing on a TAS; motivation... So, before it reaches a point that would lead me into dropping the project, I'll keep on working on a BizHawk version. You don't need to worry about it interfering in our main project, because it won't. It may even lead to important discoveries. Well, in fact it already showed something, pretty much like what happened with the Snes9x 1.43 vs 1.51; the BizHawk version will be slower! So, what that means? How can it help us with the "platform problem"? 1) the RNG will be different once we reach them platforms, maybe better luck 2) we already have good strategies, no need to recreate things from scratch 3) we will have a readily available version in case Gens become obsolete Again, don't worry, you won't have to touch BizHawk if don't want to, I'll work on it as a parallel project.

First, may be you have a problem, but I'm not.

May be you stuck on platforms, but I'm haven't tried yet.

That's problem, but not mine :).

Do what you want. I don't worry. I'm happy :D Also, I don't interested in any info about BizHawk.

I'm sorry to ask such an obvious question, r57shell; are you upset? You said that you are happy, but by your words, I'm not so sure... In any case, it's none of my business, but you made sure to let it clear that it's mainly my problem. And it might be, so let's eliminate the problem; I've enjoyed being part of this run, but I'm out of the project. Please note, it's not a hasty decision, and it is not only because of your post, no it's not. I have been thinking about it for quite some time now, and I guess it would happen sooner or later. (I'm pretty sure you will understand why.) Again, I'm sorry to get out so soon, but I wish you the best of luck with all your projects. Thanks for everything.

I see only one reason: my last WIP was 19 march, it was quite a long time ago. You want to go further, but I'm not updating and checking this part. I see only this reason. I suspended this run for uncertain time. That's reason. I don't worry about it. Because every time you have to suspend something and resume another thing. All depends your priorities and desires. Me bad, yes... But I'm not upset. I'll resume, when I have to!

Thanks for your comprehension, but the lack of WIPs is not the real cause of me being unmotivated. The technical level of the run got to a point where I was contributing less and less for the progress. Things like subpixels, floating acceleration, math that I barely understand among other tech thingies. Also, even working all night long on a stage, I was not able to keep up with you and your "version" of the stage was usually used as part of the run, not my "version". It was bombing my self steem, my desire to keep finding time savers and of course my motivation to play the game. So, who is to blame for this situation? I am to blame, not you. You were doing the best for the run, but I was just falling behind.

It's a bit different. Could any of you 2 alone develop anything even close to what was developed in co-operation? It's not about whose "version" is put as final. It's about improving whatever is already there. One improves over another, then vice versa, then again and so on. When it comes to a level no one can improve, it can be called done. Unless there's some stuff the authors are not okay with. So I officially (lol) state that without Dooty it won't be as good as with him. Just because there must be someone to take a fresh glance and apply a different vision. As for, who catches up to who, it's what MESHUGGAH feels working with Aglar, I feel working with MESHUGGAH, Randil felt with AnS, and any team can experience that. Would it demotivate? Come on! I'd call it motivation to keep working. Except that sometimes there's nothing to work on, when a project gets put on hold.

Thank you, feos. But I miss the excitement when I found out that there were a Brazilian version of the game. The time I asked r57shell to help me with the project and the apprehension if he would accept or not. Every new trick we found, every stage we cleared. The pleasure to finish the first play through. The plans for the final run... I'll miss this project. I know that I've made some important contributions for the run, well, at least in the first play through, like the double jump for example. But I usually "play" the games, I don't calculate things to find the shortest path from point A to point B. That's how I have been doing all my runs; playing. r57shell on the other hand is a precise TASer, if there's a single frame to be saved somewhere, he keeps trying and using his tools until it's saved. I asked him many times to relax a little, that we don't need to punish ourselves so much to make this TAS, but he just kept pushing harder and harder. I don't know why he dislikes BizHawk so much, and I respect his decision to keep away from it. But I must respect my decisions too. So, I'm sorry, but I'm not only putting the run on hold, I'm really out of the project.
