Looks like he played with ~25% of the speed, or so it seems by the rate he pressed the start button at the title screen. The use of frame advance sure would have increased the technical quality of the run, but as far as the entertainment goes for this kind of game I think he did a great job.

Very cool your movie Sotel6, I found it entertaining enough to deserve a Yes vote.

Thank you nitsuja. I did some tests with the bomb teleport trick, but I couldn't find a place where it can save time yet. About luck manipulation, I'm kinda lucky so far :) just one frame of delay on level 1-4 and I have almost the same power-ups you have in your run. But... lag is a bitch and sometimes it's better not bother with it. anyway, I'm now on stage 1-6, 921 frames ahead. edit: hm... stage 1-5 might benefit from the teleport trick, the door opens before I reach it and since there's no enemies left it will not cause lag. edit2: and it saved, so I decided to restart the run using the bomb trick everywhere, even though it causes lag, it enables new strategies that would not be possible without it. edit3: The bomb trick is still saving frames even with all the speed power-ups! I'm doing stage 2-4, 2579 frames ahead now. Progress: Stage 5-6, 7157 frames ahead. last edit: I'm almost done, just the final battle to do now and it will be submitted.

Super Bomberman2 is one of the few movies from 2004 that has not been improved yet. So what? Well I'm trying to improve it! My main goal is to reduce lag, but I'm also testing some new strategies to clear the boards faster. I'm at level 1-5, 691 frames ahead.

I always wanted to buy the cart of this game, but never had the chance... It's a pleasure to watch your run, Yes vote doubtless.

Unfortunately no, some bosses will be knocked down regardless of the combo you use. Here's some memory addresses that I used during the creation of the run to find the best attacks:
7E007C, 2u = X speed
7E118F, 1u = Boss health
7E11A9, 1u = Orangutan 1
7E11AB, 1u = Orangutan 2
7E11AD, 1u = Zombie's head
The most effective attack is the Power Punch (palm attack), but it is useless against the Zombie's head, it also can't be used in front of Nosferatu. edit: oh, and there's some bosses that will change his form during the fight, like the Ghost and it can't be avoided. Unless there's some other hidden combo that causes more damage, I think it's the fastest way to finish them off.

Thank you all guys. @ FODA I was fighting against the Zombie Vampire when I found this trick (the palm attack), but I don't have a clue why it work this way. @ mklip2001 That part of the fight (bat form of Nosferatu) is very hard to optimize, that was the only way I found to inflict more damage on him. @ XYZ Never played it before, but I'll check it out! edit: I've played it a little bit yesterday, and here's my first thoughts: The game is interesting, but pretty much like Top Gear 2, it have a lot of lag, sometimes (most of the time) it only accept input every other frame, what makes it difficult to have precise movements. It also have a lot of unavoidable enemies, so, due to those two things I think it would make for an incredibly long (maybe boring?) run. It may be just a bad first impression, so I'll play it to the end to be sure.

Crazy! by the by, I was trying to find a shortcut on the world map (yes, I'm a stubborn* guy) pushing against the invisible walls when Pac-Man started to float. I'm now trying to find a way to reproduce it at will. It may be useful if you could jump at the peak of his floating animation. *and stupid, 'cause I was not recording, just playing it normaly... :(

Only two days? wow! I think I can finish this in a week or two. edit: the fall through floor glitch saved quite some time on the Mansion, I'm now 01:25.78 (5147 frames) ahead up to the third boss. edit 2: I discovered a very effective combo against bosses, now I'm 01:44.55 (6273 frames) ahead, still up to the third boss; start any combo, after the second hit press down for one frame, wait 9 frames then forward+Y. (I think it's not even possible to do it in real time, at least for me...) edit 3: Still stuck on the third boss, it's kinda hard to manipulate his head off screen: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/330585000/Dooty-Nosferatu.smv also, the new combo is pretty much useless against it, so I'm considering the possibility to collect some red crystals. edit 3: two normal punches between the jump-kick and no crystals are needed. I'm now 02:35.03 (9302 frames) ahead up to the fourth boss. edit 4: I'm now 02:52.65 ahead after the fourth boss thanks to a new glitch, I'll call it "blind play" for now. edit 5: wow, it's also possible to enter walls using the fall through floor glitch, so I'm going back some stages to test it, let's see. Last edit: Couldn't find any way to save time on the walls that is possible to pass through, I'm in the midle of the final stage now, 03:22.72 ahead and it will be submitted soon.

Found a new trick, pretty much like the auto turn delay of Oddworld. Start running near a ledge, release the directional pad then jump as soon as you can, when the character lands on the other side he will fall through the floor. Couldn't find a spot to use it to save time yet, as bumping on the walls cancels the glitch, also he must jump to platforms of the same level and can't turn around, but I'm still testing. anyway, I'm on my way to fight the second boss, the Twin Orangutans, 00:42.13 seconds ahead.

I guess it's too late to accept your challenge... anyway, I'm working on an improvement to the published run by FODA. I'll take damage to save time like him, but I'll avoid all red crystals, among other small changes. edit: the werewolf fight is done, 00:29.53 seconds ahead, the red crystals are useless so far; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/89354938/Dooty-Nosferatu.smv

Very good indeed, this boss is one of the most time-consuming to complete in the normal way. by the by, my cheat test didn't work yet...

I think the first door of each section is always open, but it would be good to test using a cheat code first to make sure, I'll do it tonight.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm getting an error message when I try to edit my previous post. This game has many stages, so I was wondering if it would be possible to skip some of them. I saw that in some stages you run through walls with ease, then it might be possible to do so also on the world map, just a thought but it might work.

Left and right also seems to make him jump higher, thanks for the tip. Here's some memory addresses that I found useful, 2 bytes signed:
000f65c8 X Speed
000f65d0 Z Speed
001546c0 Jump Height
But this game is harder to optimize than I thought; the maximum speed is kinda random, holding the square button for 21 frames sometimes is enough, but not always. Grab higher ledges is also a pain in the neck, I only managed to do it bumping against the walls, and even being faster, it looked sloppy. anyways, a (decent) test run of this game requires more time than I have at the moment, so it will be a rough test run, but I think it can (will) be useful to find new tricks.

Did I mention that this is one of my favourites? Well, I don't have much time to actually TAS anything right now, but I want to contribute with your project, so I'm doing a test run using some of your glitches.

not sure if it's already known, or worth the double post, but anyway; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1043064077/abe-loading-glitch.pxm it's possible to pause the game while it's still loading (or ready to), kinda useless at this point, but you never know...

If there was a game that I would fail no matter how hard I tried, this game would be called Kaizo Mario World 2... thanks for the run, my vote is Yes.

Using the invisible Elum on Paramonia is about 60 frames faster than not using it; without the glitch I'll have to collect an extra rock to blow a land mine. about the "wasted" time, I guess you mean the beehive section, if so there's no way to avoid that, I just found out that attracting the bees away from Elum is slightly faster.

Yeah, that plus some things that didn't work on the 99 Mudokons run, here's the new wip: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/346461794/Dooty%27s%20Oddysee%20-%20Bad%20Ending.pxm I can toss the rock as soon as the lift stops, also some Paramites fail to "eat" Abe on Paramonian Temple. edit: I'm at Rupture Farms 2 trying to deal with some Slogs, new wip as soon as I find out how...
