I'd love to see a TAS of this. I don't remember anything about the game, other than it being hard, though. Also, there's an existing thread on this game. Check it out: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5581

It wasn't too bad to watch, but the play wasn't up to TASvideos standards. More importantly, I think the hack itself is unpublishable. It has very little novelty over SDW and Kaizo. And also, the music. And also, the music. And also, the music. And also, the music. No vote.

I don't personally care about the speed; I care about the visual performance. Does anyone agree with me? I'd like to revert to version 4
I noticed the thing you're referring to. I like 4 better.

I didn't know he would take the debate so far that his philosophy would nullify his own statements, and in the previous times that I've debated this subject, it didn't go nearly this far. This wasn't 5 minutes, this was upwards of 3 hours. The reason I didn't catch on is because he seemed geniuinely serious and not trollish about the argument until the end.
Ah. Fair enough. I only ask because that kind of asshattery has been problematic for me as well. To my logical mind, using rhetoric in response to rhetoric is as unacceptable as walking away from the debate. Developing decisive counter-arguments on such an uneven playing field poses an interesting challenge.

An epistemologist, that's who! LOL. It's been awhile since someone tried something like that on me. I'd counter, my argument would rely on a context that doesn't exist.

This year it was a clever, but very assholish troll who lured me into a long-winded debate over the solidarity and accuracy of human concepts (which if you've ever debated it you'll know it's a self-corroding argument as time goes on).
But... if you knew that, why'd you need more than five minutes to tell the guy his argument was insubstantial?

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I think there's a bug in the double buffering code for the windows version. It happens when switching to fullscreen with a custom video mode, where the resolution set to the desktop resolution, and with double buffering the sync method. FCEU leaves a flickering ghost image of the desktop around the drawing area. Of course, it won't be visible if the image is scaled to fit the screen. I've tried fixing it myself, but I can't make ends or tails of that DirectX code. Maybe you can do something about it? As an aside, it'd be cool if you could add Lua support, like DeHackEd did with Snes9x. I'm not holding my breath for that one, though. ;)

I'd better let Inichi know he has to include that in his CT submission text.

I really like the "upcoming" page, though it isn't immediately obvious that the "other" listing will display rejected submissions.

Egads... the point is that it plays itself? That's more evil than all those Where's Waldo submissions put together. :0

I don't understand what manner of thing this is supposed to be.

The way he moved around, it seemed more like The Flash in Batman's clothes. Of course, that kind of absurdity is only an asset in a TAS. I enjoyed this mockery very much. The not touching the mines was cool, too. Yes vote.

If this is not as good as it could be somehow I can redo it, but I think this is almost perfect (if not perfect) in the grand prix mode.
I'm no expert, so I'm reluctant to say anything about it, but it looks imperfect. Your car seems to wobble a little on straightaways, and your cornering doesn't look consistent. Sorry I can't be more specific about that... but have you considered using a Lua script, for comparison purposes? Hypothetically, a script could dump a racer's location and speed to a file, which you would then use as a "ghost" while making your own TAS. Thus, you'd be able to immediately spot any errors you make, or advantages gained. It would make your life a lot easier, I think.

Saturn made a concept demo of one track, but there's definitely some demand for a full run. I have no particular ideas, other than that SRAM should be used if it's needed to play the hardest difficulty, as it is in Super Mario Kart.

A couple Deus Ex glitch videos, scrapped together using crappy demo Fraps. Something new is in the works, though not entirely gaming-related.

Awesome. Awesome to the max. It's better in every way than the last one. Bravo.

Harker gets his brain fever early in this version of the story, I see. I remember this being too hard to complete, but the movie makes it look moronically easy. That's a plus. There are a few nice techniques, which is what I like to see in these platformer TASes, but the "no memory watching" makes me suspect sub-14 is achievable. I also suspect more tricks would be dug up in a V2, but this submission is rewatchable as-is. Yes vote.

Don't know if it's the same problem you're having, but deleting the FCEU config file solved a slowness issue I had a few months ago.

I understand "concept demo section" does not mean "trash heap", but I feel this movie deserves to be presented to the public in some way, just for the sheer novelty of the thing. Otherwise, I think this needs to get eaten by the Grue, in spite of how well played it is.

If I may throw in two cents, the list should be expanded to include videos from '05 and early '06 that were recorded with FCEU .12, as some of them don't sync on the current versions. Battletoads, Dragon Warrior IV, Fist of the North Star... probably more.

I do know one of them was Castlevania, but I tried 1-4 and Super Castlevania, so I'm mystified.
I couldn't figure that one out, either. It must be one of the weird titles, such as "Rondo of Blood" (but probably not that one, because I already tried it.) Someone with the chiptune collection I have really ought to do better than 44%. I needs more GYM and NSF in my playlist...

I'd appreciate if someone could try to playback the movie and press accept themselves and see if it works, at least it would say if it's my ROM's that are errored or if all ROMS have the glitch.
It froze. Ending the level/cutscene on different frames didn't help. I tried that reset workaround somebody mentioned, but resetting wiped the agent data. Also tested Jabo's D3D plugin and hacktarux's RSP, but it doesn't look like plugins are going to help. Didn't test other ROMs, though.

For me, it was probably luck manipulating my way through FF1 in junior high. Ironically, I probably could have beaten Chaos with less effort, had I just leveled my party a little.

There's some interesting glitchiness, but unfortunately the bosses have long invulnerability periods where all you can do is wait. I also think the game also runs too slowly for a platformer. It was a lot more interesting at 125% speed. The run is well made, but I'm not sure if the game itself will turn out to be publishable. I give it a Meh, leaning toward Yes.

For a convoluted adventure game I've never played before, this was surprisingly entertaining to watch. I also agree that alternate runs of this would be cool.
