Well, it's *kinda* a speedrun? It's...I dunno, kinda hard to describe. I'll make a rough demo of what I'm attempting (for the NES, I'd wager, it'd be way faster) and then show what it is I'm attempting. If that helps at all. I'll get back to y'all shortly. Sorry 'bout being so vague. (I'm rather closely-guarded 'bout my ideas. Just kinda kooky like that.)

Hrm...can't adjust volume...well, I s'pose that's something I could maybe handle in post? Maybe. Flargh. Anywho, thanks for the prompt replies, I think I still have SNES9x (don't we ALL have SNES9x?), gotta look up the others...then it's Miller Time! ...well, okay, maybe not. 'cause that would make it a sloppier TAS, wouldn't it.

Okay, so I'm plannin' on doin' a couple of different TAS's (yeah, I know, haven't made one yet and already planning a couple, "scale back the ambition would ya?"). What I am looking for, if it is at all possible, are emulators that allow me to shut off specific audio channels from the game, or control them during recording (and, subsequently, playback). Anyone know of any NES and SNES emulators that provide me with this level of control? I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult, but I thought I'd ask. If I'm a woefully noob'ish person, just point and laugh. Or something. Anyways, thanks!
