Alright, so far the biggest issue that I have with TAStudio regarding MAMEHawk is Savestates dont always load correctly. They arent always loading the same inputs from previous frames. I had to sometimes delete them by clearing green zones so incorrect data wasnt loaded. This might not be an issue with the core itself but possibly a leftover with the same bug in 2.3.3, but I am not certian. However it's clear that this bug is really bad with this core as of now.
There is also a weird static noise that plays when you start up Splatterhouse, This does not happen in MAME-rr when I tested it, I have not tested it with the more recent MAME versions yet.
Trying to load movie via File->Movie->Play Movie will make BizHawk freeze entirely and you cant close out of it. most likely not supported yet (was trying to do this to see what the refresh rate of Splatterhouse is). Speaking of Refresh rates, when I posted my WIP to youtube, I noticed it included 2 frames of my encoder logo, even though I used Trim(121, trimFrame) to skip the logo, yet it still showed up. I have a feeling this is due to the refresh rate or something, as Splatterhouse runs at about 60.606 FPS.

While I would still prefer to just accept a new branch instead, I will say having Knuckles 100% obsolete Sonic 100% makes the most sense to me, out of the choices you gave. However, I don’t believe in obsoleting the other solo character run with this. Please dont do that. That’s only going to discourage people from tasing this game again.

WELP, I am not done with this game yet.
I discovered a new way of getting the speed walk trick to work without a wall, and this can be applied in most areas with dashing being a main movement.

people just dont understand how much you realistically will use toilet paper. A simple 12 pack is enough to make it though most of the year, if you use it only to use the bathroom. if the worry is you wont be able to go back to the store in that time, then buy two of them. most stores are limiting it by 2 per customer, so it makes no sense.

I’ve been wanting to do this game for awhile since I’ve talked with odongdong about potential improvements. I am finally dipping my toe into it and seeing where it leads me.
I have only done the first stage so far and saved about 1 second of in game time. I still think the way I ended the boss fight is ugly since I have to walk to the child to finish the stage, so hopefully I’ll figure out how to change that.

Personally I can get pretty good speeds with the GPGX core. My average is about 400-500fps. But that’s also because I have a newer computer. The only reason I can see where someone using it can only get 70fps is if their computer is old (or if not, some other underlying issue I’m not aware of)

Ok there is alot to explain here.
Sonic tases are not using gens because they are “lazy”. Gens currently has the tools used to view not only ram addresses and collisions, but also due to Cam Hack. Currently there is no Cam Hack available for BizHawk and if one was made with lua, it would run incredibly slow, and that gets really annoying for tasers to deal with (like it would take some seconds to advance a frame each time)
I guarantee you every sonic taser knows that Bizhawk is more accurate and they would most definitely use BizHawk if the tools they rely on were in BizHawk. But currently they are not, that is why they rely on Gens.

Spikestuff literally showed you examples of where your movie is slow. That is very clearly un-optimized. Optimization is NOT subjective at all, especially when you where SHOWN Hiw slow you were.

I dont plan on doing a serious TAS on this game right now, but I did want to look at possible improvements.
So far the only thing I can see that can be improved is basic movement. I managed to save I think half a second in the first 3 rooms of the game.
