Even though you’ve been active on the forums and the chat rooms, I would like to officially welcome you back to TASing. And man what a game to return with.
You absolutely destroyed this game and destroyed your old tas. I just am at a loss for words. Everything is so fast pace that I was having trouble knowing what in the heck was going on, but I loved every minut of it. Absolutely yes vote.

Can it be a matter of choice if an author runs a PAL Master System game released in Brazil at PAL frequency instead of NTSC?

From Polygon's article, Nintendo will shut down their controversial content program at the end of December, (and replaced with more lenient guidelines.)
Nintendo of Japan's annoucement and Nintendo of America's annoucement.
The idea of the system was to let Nintendo take about 40% of advertising revenue for gameplay of nintendo games. Essentially having a royalty fee. With the system coming to a close, Nintendo is now saying they welcome creators to make content with their games an add "creative input".
Now in the case where no "creative input" is added, nintendo said this:
We encourage you to create videos that include your creative input and commentary. Videos and images that contain mere copies of Nintendo Game Content without creative input or commentary are not permitted. You may, however, post gameplay videos and screenshots using Nintendo system features, such as the Capture Button on Nintendo Switch, without additional input or commentary.
This could be troublesome for people that do TASes, while it can be argued that superhuman gameplay of these games can be seen as the "creative input", it is objectively just gameplay footage without any commentary like a let's play or even a speedrun would have. Although is very easy to tell the difference between a TAS and a Longplay, in the eyes of Nintendo, they may not know the difference.
So what are some thoughts you might have about this? Could this have a positive or negative effect on the site? Do you think Nintendo is doing enough to become more open to online content?

That is the ENTIRE POINT of the contest, you dont know what you're going to get to work on. Half of the fun is working on a game you have absolutely no knowledge on and trying to beat it as fast as you can. It's comparable to somthing like a Mystery Game Challenge for speedruns.
I get that your experience may have been different than mine during this contest, and I don't want to fault you for that. However, it's a bit silly how your main complaint about the contest is what the contest is all about, doing a mystery game that you may or may not like. If you only wanted to do games that you DO care about, then dont sign up for these contests.

I completely disagree. NES may be old, but that doesn't mean they're not simple. I had a ton of fun working on this game, and never did I think that becuase it was NES that it somehow reduced the interest I had to work on it. I have actually experienced low interest on "newer" systems like GBA and even DS. I'd even argue that alot of GBA can be even more simplistic than NES, but honestly that is based on what game you're doing.
If NES was too simple and limited to keep player's interest, then this site wouldnt exist at all (because of NESVideos).

Just for the record, my thoughts on the actual TAS has never and will never be changed by the fact that Gens was used. I still have a high appreciation for the work that Archanfel puts into his movies, as well as the other TASers who do choose Gens.
While I disagree with their choice of emulator, I never intended to let that change my thoughts on what they do and how much effort they put into their movies.

The movie starts off a bit slow, but as the character gets new upgrades, the run picks up a ton of momentum, especially once the hookshot is obtained.

If the emulator isn’t listed on here, it isn’t acceptable for submission here. Just because tasing tools exist for emulators doesn’t mean they can be acceptable.

there is currently no way to TAS a PS2 game that would be acceptable for submission yet. dolphin is also a GameCube and Wii emulator, not a PS2 emulator.

Also I agree with Spike here, I would still like to know why gens is still being used. An no “gens is love, gens is life” excuse please.
