Although the [a1] ROM I used worked fine and played it through to the end, I felt it was appropriate to check the run with the savestate removed and replaced by an insert-coin-and-press-start sequence, plus an appropriate amount of frames so that at least World 1-1 would sync. It was fine until 6-4, at which point Mario runs smack into the first podoboo and it all goes pear-shaped, which makes me think I need to pad it more for a different frame rule or something. EDIT: Padded a few more null frames at the beginning. This is what I've got now.

There's a setting in the options menu to disable Spot's animations for each move. Any reason for not doing this?

Push. The only reason I can think of to accept this one is a comparison to the unassisted run, since I always saw level 1 as a training mode. Level 2 wouldn't be all that bad, since it's the full game, but I would really like to see level 3 for how optimized the randomized item layout can get.

adelikat has recommended consistently that the old PPU be used.

The new PPU offers increased accuracy but changes timing. Old PPU should be used for watching older movies but New PPU is recommended for new TAS movies.

Switch to the new PPU and it will be fixed.
That's all I see in this thread, unless he's said something elsewhere?

It appears that it is running the else clause in its entirety. This is why it says "emulation speed 100%" every frame. The reason it seems like it's not working is that it's also setting it to turbo every frame for some reason. I noticed while messing around with the script that the pitch of the audio got even higher when I commented out the normal speedmode function. EDIT: The problem is all in the turbo, it seems. Change it to "nothrottle", which according to the documentation is the same as turbo, and it works fine. That's all.

Failed miserably to beat the old 16 star TAS time? Hell, failed to beat the unassisted time by five minutes.

Short story by David Sedaris, who talks about a Dutch holiday (after a short, but also funny intro). You might think he made up the details about this Dutch holiday, but it's actually 100% accurate. If you grew up with the story, it doesn't sound so strange. From his point of view though, the details can't get much weirder. He tells his story really well. Enjoy! http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/137619/Six_to_Eight_Black_Men.html
I'm a big fan of Sedaris and that is one of my favorites. He read it for his Live at Carnegie Hall recording which is where I first heard it, and it was pretty great.

IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE, GUYS. I believe that what's visible and what's not varies from time to time, which can make this all the more difficult. Some days one can see a lot (I think even FYAD on occasion), some days one can see only GBS and BYOB (which is usually visible, I think), and some days a non-goon can't see anything at all.

Yes, it can be annoying if you pay attention to the game(s) that are getting a bit of neglect, but overall I really liked it. The mess, which is impossible to sort through, makes it possibly worth more than one viewing? Also I like hearing the sound of all four games combined. In conclusion, the most annoying thing about this run was watching Mega Man IV take a few extra minutes to catch up, compared to the awesome simultaneous finish of X+X2.

Thought it was entertaining enough, although by the time it was done I was ready for it to end. Actually I thought it seemed a little funny after a while to just see the same Cage moves over and over again, so make of my opinion what you will. I'd agree on the Concept Demo thing, if even publishing it.

But come on, it would never get old to vote "To be published as a Concept Demo" for every regular TAS.

After carefully reading and rereading this post, I have to say that I agree with all of it.

I don't mean to try to argue or anything, but I seriously doubt this.

Eclisped Moon: Is it still the game game. Its almost like taking mine and Angerfist's rockman 3 run and putting it in the concept demo because the movie applies to a specific version of the game.
I actually have forgotten to watch that one, I wasn't aware that that version also would only work with that specific version, in which case I'd have to see what it is before saying what my opinion on that would be. So, I will reply or edit this post in 30 minutes. :)

I see no problem with publishing this either obsoleting Pom's movie or publishing it right next to it on the main nes games page. Usually the movies into "concept demos" are made to show something different like Hacked ROMs or slower routes, such as Bisqwits Walkathon SMB. This movie is totally different from a demo.
At the very least I have a problem with the fact that the run only applies to a very specific (and reasonably obscure) version of the game. So I would probably say alongside, going by those lines.

Right now I'd like to add that I don't mean to sound as harsh as I may be coming off, it's really kinda an interesting run in a different sort of way, I just personally can't think of it as, well, beating the game. Or this could be another great debate. If the game thinks it has been beaten, then hasn't it? Mind over matter? Eh, not in my opinion, but whatever.

Sorry, but I just can't consider that as beating the game.

Do the brown and white eggs differ in their contents or taste somehow? I wasn't aware if that is the case.
No. Though some chickens that lay brown eggs produce more nutritious and flavorful eggs than the breeds that lay white eggs, the opposite is true just as often. Therefore, shell color is not an indicator of quality. -- Howard Hillman, The New Kitchen Science
