Not a great TAS choice. Unless you find a way to speed up the flying levels they are not interesting to watch in the long run. The rail shooting segments are painfully slow for a TAS. And you're fairly limited with ways to eliminate enemies. Mazes: Run few tiles, encounter, run, encounter, run, encounter. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but I don't see how it could be entertaining to watch.

Finally a submitted speedrun for this game. :) Clear yes vote. If you excuse me, I'm going to ram my head through a window.

theres a europena version of the game release in german by takara( same as japan) most of changes are sprites. but the text is all in deutsch.
Fixed. :P Why patching a translation patch on it? AFAIK every text is skipable in this game. Who would read it anyway, honestly?

I would be interested into a duo run of those games.Hell, I am alway looking for something like that. All I need to prepare is a loop of AVGN's famous "ASS" and "FUUUUUCK" sound snippets, that I'll playback during the movie. :-)

i think that im going to do the g.i joe thingy on nes :)
I don't know this particular game that you call "G.I. Joe Thingy". I've heard of the "G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero" NES game and the "G.I. Joe - The Atlantis Factor" NES game but not of "G.I. Joe Thingy". I have a request though. I think "Noah's Ark" would make a good TAS. But I fear it's gonna be too tricky for a beginner.

It's time someone makes a reproduction cart of it. :) I love how ATA changed the game by making it use a MMC3 chip rather than a NROM one. Btw. YES vote.

What the hell are you talking? I can't see that "tower". Btw. they want to stay in Washington for a while, not in Frankfurt. What a Depp... *hardfacepalm*

Nice speedrun so far. It got me infected with interest. I'm looking forward for a finished run. The game seems to be a passable choice to TAS. Till now I thought there were only two NES games supporting German, "Robin Hood" from Virgin and "Asterix" from the same company that developed "The Smurfs". XD

Has anyone tried a tool assisted speedrun of this port yet? This masterpiece of Rare is definitively worth it and in my opinion it's the most outstanding port because it took very advantage it could get out from the good old NES and amaze us with parallax scrolling and 3D- effects. Some things I've found out by playing: It's better to pick one of the Lee brothers since they have a better moveset and can reach certain items that could be helpful for the run like those"invincibility-burgers" (LOL) Most stronger enemies can be wiped out by the Lee's special move, by running into them and performing a high jump, followed by landing with the knees on the enemies hitbox instead by using the elbow move. For example Abobo can be beaten very quick by using this technique. The pipe is your best friend on Level 2. Alot of enemies can be knocked out on a certain spot (found in 2-2). However I'm still looking for another tricks. I dont own the game along time but I'll look out for more tips. Btw. I didn't find any bugs in this game.

I prefer USB controller. It's so much easier to give inputs with the fitting velocity. My hand often hurts after playing with a keyboard.

You should re-install Famtasia or get another version. Must be a bug in the exe. Camstudio is freeware. It's not great but still OK.

Try Antivira. The free version is enough to keep your PC clean from viruses. It also gets updated everyday. http://free-av.de/en/download/index.html Or try Kaspery. My second favourite.

It'd be nice to see the translated version accepted, but I really doubt it will be. Bleh.
Why? Do you think that the english translation is longer/shorter than the original japanese one? I never checked it out so I don't know. :P I also don't know if the time difference between roms of two regions is important for a TAS. =) I think the english one is shorter/equal to (J)-text, because the limit size of a rom can't be altered up, except you find a way to extend it.

First hello people. I've just registered an account here because I'm a fan of TAS videos and very fascinated of it. Altough I don't make own speedruns, I would like to be a part in your discussions and learn from them! =) Be aware, my english is sometimes horrible. Few months ago, I was looking through Romhacking.net, searching after new hacks of NES games. There I found a very special hack which in my opinion deserves a TAS. ROCKMAN - NO CONSTANCY It's made by a japanese rom hacker called "IKA", released on 21.10.2007. The rom for the patch is "Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J)". By far the most spectactular hack I've ever seen. Made with much love for details. Graphics: Some graphics were used from othewr games like the Palace Rooms from "Kirby's Adventure" (Airman Stage), the Opening Stage from "Megaman X1" (Crash Man) or the Cave-Palette from "Yoshi's Island" (Flash Man). There are also customs ones, which are very beautiful and colourful. Sound: Mostly soundtracks from the Megaman X-series were scripted to NSF and the result is awesome. Never heard such badass sound. Gameplay: There isn't much improvent, except Megaman climbs up ladders much faster. Enemies have more health, have quicker weapons and the game got harder! There are actually two IPS patches, one with normal difficulty and the other with incredibly difficulty. The game's levels are very well designed but it's really hard to not get hit. Jumping can be sometimes a hard task (but I think it won't be a big problem if played Tool-Assisted). Also the weaknesses of the Stage Bosses were replaced. Here's the list. Metal Man: Bubble Man Crash Man: Flash Man Flash Man: Air Man Air Man: Heat Man Heat Man: Metal Man (note, that Heat Man's ability Megaman will recieve is the Mega Buster from Megaman 5) Bubble Man: Crash Man Quick Man: Air Man Wood Man: Quick Man In my opinion it's absolutely worth a TAS speedrun. It would be very interesting to see how to accomplish these stages. Especially the Difficult Patch. http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/nes/patches/[321]RockmanNo_constancy.zip -> Link to the patches Remember: Get the "Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J)" rom. Discuss.
