That's because you don't understand what feminism is. The ultimate goal of feminism is for women to be treated as human beings and to have equality. Because we understand the intersectionality of oppression, that extends to equality for all races, religions (and lack thereof), gender, cis/trans status, class, etc. What you are thinking of would more likely be termed "misandry" and is entirely separate from feminism. Institutionalized misandry does not exist, however, so please don't delude yourself into thinking that a straight white cismale is being oppressed. It's pathetic and embarrassing.

The friend zone is an incredibly misogynistic concept. Women have no obligation to have sex with you and it's incredibly disingenuous and deceitful to try to trick them into it. I know it sucks to not have someone feel the same way you do, but you don't have to be so sexist and pathetically sex-starved that you have to blame women for not wanting to have sex with you. Plus, think of it from the woman's perspective: you meet someone whom you think you can really trust and count on as a friend and it turns out he isn't even interested in you as a person but only wants to have sex with you? I think that's a lot lot worse than being friendzoned. And don't give me crap about the "bro-zone", I'm talking here about the internalized misogyny that demonizes women for having the ability to discern when and with whom she has sex. If you think women owe you sex, then perhaps the fact that you're a sexist creep is why they won't talk to you and not that you're a "nice guy?"

You'd have to do a pretty wacky beamos hover to get the silver rupee off the ceiling in the Spirit Trial to get those 20 chus, but that's what TASes are for, I guess. Cool route.

Deku Tree CS works. So tentatively it's intro, S&S, aquascape, kak, bottle + bugs, savewarp, deku, gohma, suicide to gohma on the same frame you kill her, re-enter her lair, OI WW, castle, Ganon. The TAS would probably skip sword and backflip over Mido or something. The Ganon fight works fine as child, you just use nuts for first form and MS as child for second form.

I think I prefer baked kale to steamed kale. Plus I hear steaming it loses some of its nutritional value.

So if we are getting bottle again, is it faster to get a fairy in Fire Temple or to get all the HCs as usual?

I figure a VC inject (if these games can run in an inject) would be easier to do. Pokémon Snap has an official VC release, I dunno about DK64 or the other non-hacks.

And you're suggesting we ignore the opinion of the 99% in order to heed the demands of the 1%? Congratulations, you'd fit right in in US Congress. I'm sorry, you're not that important that everyone else who prefers or at the very least tolerates the J version will step down because bloo bloo bloo i want english text!!!1

Dropdown menus for each game would be pretty cool, especially if the items in the menus didn't load until clicked on. As of now, loading the game list by console is awfully resource-intensive on my poor, poor 1.5Mbps DSL connection.

I already have a "'Why was the Ocarina of Time thread locked?' locked?" thread prepared, in case anyone was wondering.

The fact that he voted "no" means he doesn't think it should be published.

Wait, you still voted on the basis of it being an arbitrary and boring category when you already knew it had a precedent with the exact same goal? What, do you expect them to un-publish the old run? I don't think you know how this works. Also, I don't think you know what trolling is either.

I think we've gotten a little far away from the original point. Using Dolphin is rather irrelevant and unlikely until we agree what graphic plugin could be used in Mupen: The Jabo video plugin crashes when you try to use adult deku stick on B. Other video plugins don't crash when you use adult stick on B. Because none of the video plugins are official by any means, there's no clear indication of which plugin should be used for the TAS. However, I think it's most logical (and ethical) to use the plugin that most accurately emulates the original hardware (which would be the Jabo plugin, which crashes).

For your first and second points: You're an idiot. http://tasvideos.org/2087S.html For your third point: see the last couple pages Also, meh + meh + meh averages out to "meh", in case you do not know how math works.

No one is arguing that. You obviously can't use the J input on a U run.

If there were logical reasons to use it (which there are plenty of for switching to JP in OoT), then sure. Otherwise, your comparison makes no sense. You are aware "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy, correct?

With OoT, the issue is that stick B works with one graphics plugin and doesn't work with a different one. Neither is really "official", so it raises the question: can we use a different graphics plugin because it allows a glitch that does not work on the original hardware? As much as I want to say yes, I'll begrudgingly admit that's very sketchy.

The amount of time saved by switching to J is known down to the second, and probably the frame. Rejecting this run despite it having 32-33+ minutes of improvement due to gameplay alone is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Also, why is everyone who votes no on this adapting this pretentious moral high ground, like it's some great issue of conscience that you can't accept this run? It's a fucking speedrun and it's over half an hour faster due to routing and execution alone. Get over yourself.

Anywho. I just noticed again how fucking pointless this discussion is. How do you keep draggin me back in? As long as there is no route that is faster than the RBA route nobody will TAS this game with stick on B. If there is another route found we can still bash our skulls in. For the time being, I'm out.
All the Ganonless routes (both with and without stick B) are already faster than the old RBA route by several minutes.

I believe the obvious solution is to run N64 games in VC in Dolphin in Hourglass in a Windows VM on *nix, right?

aleckermit owns a Nintendo 64 flash cart that can play ROMs on the original hardware, I'd recommend asking him.

That's the only thing I can think of that's GC-exclusive besides the red B and the altered text (L-targeting in lieu of Z-targeting). I suppose that too is part of the emulator that live-patches the ROM. I just think it's weird how VC doesn't have void hovers. I figured the emulators were pretty similar.
