Yeah this is all common knowledge to me. I have been running this game for almost 2 years now RTA/SS currently holding both Any% 2:26:22 and 100% 2:40:37 records. My chat has been bugging me to do a TAS of this game but since I play on SNES the resistance bug is permanently on your system because it takes the last loaded file as your 2nd character's equipment. I would use Phoebe's 2nd time in the party as the save file that was last loaded. I could do a TAS with and without the glitch and see how much time the resistance bug saves, but I am pretty sure it will be a pretty fair chunk.

I have found a glitch to skip the Jinn boss now. But The resistance bug itself I think can shave another 10 minutes off the run.

Damage is also different with the resistance bug. It's called resistance bug because thats the most obvious thing transferred, but it transfers all Equipment bonuses over. Including evasion, strength, etc.

I was looking into doing an updated TAS of this game since route and strats have completely changed now and I want to utilize the glitch of the resistance bug. This bug makes the 2nd character's equipment be = to the character in the 2nd slot on the last loaded save file. If I do a movie record with clear SRAM it starts as if there is no save file and I can't utilize the resistance bug. Could I do a TAS that doesn't start from a clear SRAM and would it be defined as a different category then?

Ferret: I know you can do that with the passwords. I did that in my sda run(soon to be posted). I did this without passwords as to not use passwords and do game full from start to end. We checked the time that sda would use if it went by their standards(first movement til last control). The time is 21:53.

I didn't think there was any glitches in this game til i accidently discovered key teleportation on 1-2 when blowing the bubble to break the bonus level wall.
