Just watched the newest any% run and loved it! I was curious if anyone is working on a new 100% run at all? I'm guessing not as I'm sure it would be a ton of work and there would probably be WIPs being posted, but I figured I'd ask in case someone is secretly working on it or something. Thanks!

Used to play this as a kid, took me forever to get those cards and stuff lol. Very awesome run with a lot of cool looking tricks.

I thought this was a very interesting concept for a movie, yes vote from me. Similar to what SmashManiac said earlier, I'm a big fan of the "least portals" challenges from the Portal games and like those, I think this idea adds a fun puzzle element to the game. However, I guess I can also see from other people's perspectives that this TAS might have been the type of TAS that is more fun to create than to watch. Even so, I think it is no less arbitrary a goal than the walkathon runs. On a side note, I would kind of like to see this idea used in other games, although unfortunately it doesn't look like it is too popular :(

Seems like the drama was dying down and the discussion was just getting to a mature level and then Angerfist comes along...

Hey, I don't post much on the site, but I just watched the run and wanted to say I thought it was one of the most entertaining runs I've seen on this site in awhile. Awesome work :)

I believe to get to Clifftop Cache in Razor Ridge for the banana bird there, in addition to needing to trade for the wrench to be able to use the lift, he also charges you 2 bear coins to use it. I'm sure by that point, you'll have more than enough or be able to easily get 2 more, just thought I'd mention it in case whoever is running the game got there with exactly 55 bear coins and had to backtrack for 2 coins.

Sorry, I chose to vote no, just doesn't seem like a good game choice, seems slow and rather repetitive.

Just not very interesting. Also, this seems very trivial to make.
Voted No for the same reasons. Sorry, I just don't think it is a good game choice or maybe even genre choice for a TAS.

Wow, didn't expect to be that surprised with a Tetris run. Awesome find and great run!

This run is much too similar to a normal run of this game. The only differences that really stand out are getting to the vine in 4-2 and the goomba stomp in 8-1(and not taking the shortcut in 1-1 I guess). While I do think that the concept of not getting any coins might be interesting, there really aren't enough coins in the way to make this run interesting. Maybe a warpless run that avoids all the coins would be more interesting, if that's even possible. Interesting idea, but I would have to vote No.

IMO it would be easier to just do a hookshot free run or an explosivefree run

The only people who are going to care about 1 frame are you guys making the movie. Like others here have said, if you cannot find the frame yourselves, then you have no right to use it in your video, unless of course you intend to add Brian as one of the co-authors or something. Even so, halting progress of the movie for something as trivial as that is, in my opinion, both selfish and immature.

I vote yes for this run. I've been following the individual levels in the thread and they have all been incredibly entertaining and done way faster than I thought possible with the use of quite a lot of interesting tricks. Having played this game only a moderate amount, it is tough for me to tell how much room for improvement there is, but I think most people will agree the run is anything but sloppy. Very fun to watch, well done!

I used to play this game quite a bit, awesome to see someone TASing it. Even if it is only to show the routes, at least to me it is very entertaining and doesn't look terribly unoptimized, although admittedly I wasn't looking that hard :P Hope you'll at least finish all the levels so we'll have something to watch until a run is released. Very nice work and good luck with Arabian Flights and the other levels ><

I am also one of the members of this site who does not respond much, but I have been following the site and most of the runs and discussions for a few years now. I have not seen the movie yet, so I have not voted. But even without watching it, it seems like the fact that there is 5+ minutes of improvement on an hour long game is a fair basis to vote No. I doubt that a movie for any other game would be accepted with as many known improvements not included in the movie. If you ignore the fact that it is an N64 game and that it is a very popular game like Zelda and judge it like you would any other game, I think it is far more unlikely it would be published. How many other movies have been published with 5+ min(~8%) of known improvements, coming from using a suboptimal routes, subpar precision(in angles, sidehops, etc.), lack of luck manipulation, and leaving out useful, timesaving tricks. Just about all those things have been used for all the other great runs on this site, and it seems unfair that this game should be accepted along with the other runs that don't have these imperfections, just because its OoT. I do realize that this improves the current run by something like 1h 30m, but I don't think that is reason enough to publish this one. Honestly, I'd be more in favor of removing the current published run and waiting until a movie of this game that is up to the standards of this site that is known and revered for publishing movies that are considered perfect(or at least near perfect XD)

Never played or even heard of this game, but it looks like a fun game to play, and was entertaining to watch the whole way through, yes vote.

Hey, I've been following this site a long time, but never really felt like making an account until now, mostly because I don't really have enough time to spend making a TAS lol. Anyway, I am really interested in seeing a TAS of this game as I remember it being a very fun and interesting game when I played it. But as I said, I probably wouldn't have the time or patience to actually do a TAS of this game, but hopefully I might be able to be of some help by watching WIPs and giving helpful advice. I made a really rough test run of the first level with pretty obvious mistakes, but I think it should give you some helpful ideas to make your run faster. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b8fb407ee7ff91a02fb2ca15d7ea42d9e04e75f6e8ebb871 Also, 3 things I thought I should mention: 1. I noticed in your WIP that at the end of the first section of 1-1, you jump about halfway up the ladder and climb up the rest of the way. Just thought I should note that you can jump up from the ladder while you're climbing, like in some other mario games, which might be faster in some areas in the game. 2. Just kind of a warning, make sure that when you use the cry vibe or whatever, that you use it only on distances long enough to make up for the start up time, like for instance, at the end of 1-1 after the toad, I think it's faster to just run to the end normally rather than wait for the cry vibe to start up just for that short distance. Hopefully this makes sense lol, sorry if I explained it weird. 3. Haven't really testing it frame by frame, but it looks like in levels with slopes if you slide on them, you go faster than you would if you used the cry vibe. I've also found that you can keep this speed by jumping when you land or going into a slide for a short time when you land and then jumping again. This is kind of hard to explain lol, I might do another test run to try and show this if it's hard to understand, I just remember thinking it might be pretty important in a TAS. I would do some testing if I knew anything about RAM addresses or whatever, pretty clueless there, but maybe you'll have better luck. Anyway, I hope some of this will help you and I'll try to keep up on your run and help you in any way I can. Good luck running this awesome game :)
