It's amazing really, but the way to finish. I find that the game makes no sense, in which Mario suddenly mad and take actions to suddenly appear on the screen "THE END". For this reason, I vote NO!
You're insane. This is quite literally the most insane glitched TAS I've ever seen. It's literally breathtaking. I can't even think of a better TAS in any category ever. This is the most impressive thing I've ever seen. A strong, strong Yes vote from me. Holy motherfuck.

As DarkKobold & me discussed in IRC, this game requires one more Start press to skip the last dialog cutscene, though it is saying "GAME COMPLETED", is may & must be skipped.
The game doesn't require Start press, this last dialog will disappear after waiting a couple of seconds. In fact, this dialog is first part of ending. Why must it be skipped? Man, yesterday I was so going to write detailed post about how great you worked on this game during last halfyear. But at the end of the day you rushed to beat levels 6-7 (which are now the least entertaining part of the movie) and submit the file right away, without usual discussion/reworkings. Bah. Sure I'm not gonna vote No for the movie I anticipated so much, but that's where we part ways.

Also, the stylistic choice of using ten seconds of down time to have fun at the end of the movie
Since when it's called downtime? It's the end. There won't be any uptime after that.

I suppose the extra input at the end was inspired by the similar sequence in FODA's 2-player Battletoads run from 6 years ago, a time when people weren't frame-picky enough to complain about such a thing:)
BTW, if this submission is approved as a precedent, does it mean that all Battletoads runs must end at the fadeout screen instead of last hit?
You raise some valid points, but this movie doesn't have to be held to the same pixel percet perfection that we hold Mario runs to. This movie will be primarily for the enjoyment of the TAS community, and we should judge it as such. Even if this wasn't the fastest run around, these criticisms are best leveled towards oneself. If you think it can be improved, do it. If you can't, then it simply doesn't matter. Constructive criticism is great, but you're coming off as snarky. A definite yes vote from me. Great video, great timing, great everything. Congrats feos.

Please don't, those HD encode have experimental sound issue, they aren't following the all encoder guideline and futhermore those aren't even 1080p (the standard I guess...) Also, I already post earlier about my plan to keep up the encode in the BoF3 thread.
Lordy lord. Ok then. I'll have it up within the next five or six days. Edit: Awesome job though, I love it.

Instead of bickering, we could dance merrily and forget this incredibly minor issue. Here's a picture of a koala: I hope this settles the matter.

Here an attempt to encode this with the SPU plugin and some encoding tool. The sound should be better, but at several place the audio is still laggy, because of a reload savestate bug, as far as I can see. To fix that, it's possible to manually edit my script to skip some unnecessary savestate checkpoint. Rather than trying to re-encode, I thought the result was good enough : Youtube : Part1, Part2 Also, at the end I saved the game to see how long was the in-game time :)
You're awesome. Abandoning my HD encode.

Initially I was for the removal of the image, but I've mulled it over and taken an about-face. Here's my view on the issue. Since it's my view, it's obviously the correct one. Patryk may be young (Perhaps the youngest TASVideos member,) but an image without personal information is in no way damaging or dangerous to him. If the image was accompanied by contact information, then that's obviously a danger. Due to his young age, and the fact that most TASers are obvious pedophiles, there's always the danger of solicitation as well. However, none of this justifies the removal of the image. If we're to make a rule, then an age limit is the only appropriate one to take; an action I would vehemently protest.

Back when I was in the military: Edit: Yeah, I have a huge clock. Edit 2: Me rocking out Karaoke night. I sang Master of Puppets and rocked that shit out. Edit 3: Me singing live karaoke in front of 400 people at a fashion show benefit for disabled rugby players or something. Master of Puppets again.

Let's see. My order should be considered variable; and don't feel excluded if I don't mention you. I appreciate everyone in this community. * Ilari: for indoctrinating me into the world of encoding and helping me along the way. In addition, for his phenomenal DOS TAS of SkyRoads. * Flygon: for his help with some of my first encodes. * BrandonE: for furthering my interest in encoding, and finally getting me off my lazy ass to create Pyncoder. * Quibus & scrimpy: For introducing me to OpenMSX and the world of possibilities therein. * Nach: For being the first person to talk to me on IRC, and yelling "FERRETFAUCET!!!" * nitrogenesis: For being awesome in general. * Grunt: For his humor and sarcasm. * marcolaranja: For accepting my tutelage and in the process helping me flesh out my own workflow during encoding. * theenglishman: For his Prince of Persia run, still my favorite run on the site. I'll edit this list as I see fit.

So, let's see. The sum total of this hack seems to be:
  • Changing "Mario" to "Samus" in the header;
  • Adjusting the warp zone in 1-2 to go solely to world 8;
  • Randomly moving a few objects around in the levels;
  • Changing the ending text.
Play is also thoroughly suboptimal - amongst other things:
  • Does not use the wall glitch to enter the warp zone;
  • Takes a completely unnecessary death in 8-1;
  • Does not end at the moment of touching the axe (which, IIRC, is the accepted SMB timing standard) but waits until after the ending text has finished displaying.
sirstarmagic, have you read and understood the Rules and Guidelines? PLEASE understand the site's purpose and what a run should be before continuing to submit. If you do not, we may block you from making further submissions until you can establish in the discussion threads that you understand how to put together a run properly.
Don't be so hasty Grunt. It's well known that the wall glitch and stopping replay at the axe is considered witchcraft by the Republican party.

The reason I like this submission is the ^^^** rating. Edit: Also the tone you took about making an IPS patch. You're fantastic.

Voted no. This hack does little besides modify speed and glitch the game out, and the run really isn't that great.

Do you think you'd vote yes if I put this under a 'uses as few buttons as possible' descriptor?
