Wall flowers, maybe? Or that could just be "shy people", not "mopers". Another good one I remembered earlier. It's less an idiom and more a euphamism, but I think it still works. To cut the cheese: To fart.

Truncated: The NES game is most definitely M.U.S.C.L.E.. It's on the 52-in-1 cartridge my family has under the name WRESTLE. I always liked the shooting guy's ability, although the red guy, who always reminded me and my siblings of Homer Simpson, had that cool pile driver move. Thank you, you're making me want to relive my childhood. :(

You know what drives me nuts? When people use "irregardless" for "regardless". >_<

Well, this works as a nice kick in the pants for me. Thank you.

In level one, I was referring to the very end when you were the legendary gargoyle after getting the health expansion. There was a fairly long stretch of not much right before where you fought Arma where it seems the earth gargoyle would have been handy. As for the other stuff: Gotcha. Still, I loved it. If that's all I can nitpick on, you did a very good job. :P

Oh, I got another good English one. To bite the bullet: To approach a situation you know won't turn out well for you, mostly because of something you did. Used especially for approaching one's superior about something they did that was wrong.

I'm voting yes on this, but I have a few concerns. Why not use the earth gargoyle towards the end of your revisit of level 1 and in the beginning of the last level? No pun intended, but your swimming seemed kinda fishy. Regular swimming seems to be just as fast as the "special swimming", and it doesn't force you to stop whenever you attack. Am I wrong here? Other than that, nice to see this finally done. Good job. :P

Tex Avery has something to add to the English side of the conversation. WARNING: Severe pun alert. Other English idioms: Shoot the breeze: Engage in small talk. The tip of the iceberg: The beginning or most apparent part of a story or situation. In Mexico, I understand the term "eggplant" means the same thing as the English "pickle" in the idiomatic sense. And, just to live up to my namesake... To ferret out: To discover or try to discover through deep investigation.

First paragraph: I've been giving that a try. It hasn't been working. Success seems to be entirely up to luck until I figure out what it is I'm missing. Second paragraph: Yes, there's no need to beat Takeshi's face 20,000 times. I have seen the five minute thing work. I have, however, tried the title screen thing. Didn't work so well. My guess is that was a gag to get players to actually do that to see if it would work.

Just a heads up for everyone... The karaoke scene is no more than a few minutes long if you're having trouble, the scene where you have to press nothing for a hour is only an option you can pick to complete the scene while doing it in five minutes is also an option, and I can't find a place where 10-20k punches are necessary. There are videos on Youtube of the game being beaten in under 30 minutes without using the warp glitch JRL mentioned. It's not too hard in the least, only unconventional and unorthodox in the things it requires you to do, such as getting divorced. If you want a hard game, go play Holy Diver. Why am necrobumping this? Because I'm taking a break from Metroid 2 for a while and am working on a warped run of this game and may do a warpless run some time later. I'm having some trouble with the karakoe sequence (the only sequence required to complete the game; failing to do this results in a game over once you reach the treasure) even though there are supposedly some workarounds for the microphone. You have to get the audience to approve of your singing of a short verse three times, but I can only get them to randomly approve once, and often its by not doing anything at all. I don't get it. Do we have any Japanese gamers who are familiar with this game? I'd like some tips as to how the heck to complete this sequence.

I'm going to take L337's post as an opportunity to say that Supaplex is indeed TASable, but through different tools. It's somewhat limited in that it lacks savestates, but it is possible to do. Shame that topic failed to catch on. :( That topic is quite old, back when I using non-standard lingo. Please overlook that part.

Certain events in this game pauses the in-game timer. The slower of the two movies aims to get as many of these as possible in order to get the clock at the end to read as low as possible. The other, quicker movie ignores these events for the fastest real-time movie, even though the clock at the end registers as having more time put into it. As to which one is more entertaining? You decide. Some like the real-time route, while others like the in-game route.

Well, as per your permission on IRC to nitpick, I think I shall. I am keeping in mind this is only a test run so far, so I don't mean to be harsh. ;P LOTS of the screens can be skipped by pressing start. That alone will pick up the pace considerably. Springs can be used to get a free turbo run. Try to avoid collecting things if you can help it, especially clocks, as those add to the bonus at the end. The first level can be improved with less jumping before max speed and braking before the end to jump earlier. In fact, unassisted, I managed about a second less than you did. Thank you for being willing to do this. I look forward to it!

Small necrobump, but eh. Just watched it and had a few things to say. Things I liked: I was wondering if that shortcut on the roller coaster would work. I tried and tried and tried, but just couldn't get it. Good job there! Good handling of the bumper cars. The exceedingly screwy physics makes me hate that level so much. >_< Good demonstration of a clipping glitch in Buster's level. Sadly, it doesn't seem as fast as jumping over the wall. Suggestions: First, standing still doesn't do anything for the aesthetics of a movie unless it does something interesting, like the spiraling platform in the last level (but then you took two unnecessary hits right at the end and failed to get a running start when getting off, which would have saved a few seconds). The music in this game is generally very peppy. Get grooving to it! Babs has some cutesy poses that could easily be used to dance with. Furball's pose when the log is not on a level surface is a perfect boogie stance to groove to the level's song. Do something more than just look up! On Furball's level, holding B will let you tilt the log when it's on water. Tilt in the direction of the current, the log will move faster. Tilt against, and it will move slower. A great deal of time could be saved by that alone. Would it make the movie more interesting to watch? I don't know. Overall, not a bad attempt. If it weren't for the Furball issue, I would have voted yes.

Ah, man, I'll be in Palmyra on the opposite side of the state a month from today. :( Oh well. Sad to say, all my trips to New York City leave me rather unimpressed. Living in Suburbia, I don't mind living in the shadow of a big city, but being inside is just depressing for me. New York is especially bad. At least everything you need to survive is within walking distance. At least be sure to visit Times Square, especially at night, for some crazy advertising. Highest billboard-to-real-estate density I've ever seen (although pictures I've seen of Chinese cities look to put it to shame).

Freakin' yes, thank you, Enhasa! I just looked it up, and while it is the game I was looking for, it's not exactly how I remember it (hippos? I never knew), but hey, I was 5 last time I was exposed to that game. ;P

A2ZOMG - I'm talking in the context of Melee. Brawl has banned stages for different reasons. It's interesting though: by banning walk off stages, Dedede went from killing machine to... wherever on the tier list he is now. Probably not very high.

Fox also has an infinite combo on any level that has a vertical wall.

Actually, the standard now is Fox. Half of the banned stages are because of him. I think Marth became popular simply to spite Roy fans.

I used to have lyrics for most of FF1's battle theme (hey, the brain needs to entertain itself during mind numbing exercises). Unfortunately, I can only remember the first line to it. :( It was after the famous bassline intro. We meet again, and we're fighting in a place Where the universe is made unsafe. Repeat once more.

WIP time! This one kills all the metroids in and around Ruins 4; it ends with Samus entering the ruins themselves en route to Ruins 3. Yes, Zeta #1 and Gamma #3 behave abnormally. Apparently I moved between them so fast they forgot to introduce themselves properly! New trick: Missile Pushing as described my last post. Moving away from a missile doesn't do anything to its trajectory, allowing me to wobble in place to get it to move faster. I wish I had known about this on Zeta #2. >:(
