can anyone beat cosmos wr with a TAS?
His WR is 12 seconds slower than his sum of best splits, and his sum of best splits is ~1 minute slower than the TAS, which is ~20 seconds slower than an updated TAS would be, which is ~30 seconds slower than the TAS would be if it could be/was done on a faster console (VC or iQue)
How long do you think an iQue TAS would be?

Yeah. 18:10 for RTA is amazing. I don't think that's gonna get beat anytime soon unless there's some crazy new strat.

So... how many A presses does this all bring the total down to?

How are people finding so many glitches lately? I noticed everybody jumps in the water before they do these glitches, so what does that actually do?

Link to video W A T . edit: Affects the following categories: No WW, 100%, All Dungeons (It has different RBA route and now it will be faster almost certainly), Bingo (until Bingo gets updated), maybe some others I've forgotten. Doesn't speed up any% because you don't do RBA in any%.
I'm not really familiar with RBA, but what does this do and what makes it faster?

don't you think it would be easier to use VBA as the GBA? Would it be awesome if you could use that for 4-swords adventures?
But they did at this point, but it wasn't working very well. The GBA core is still pretty young, but proves to be working far more effectively than linking up to VBA. I don't know why. In some months we may be able to finally get Four Swords Adventures TASed, but that may take a while. Just hold your horses till then.
Yeah. It seems like Gamecube Emulators are actually better than N64 emulators atm. I'm really excited to see some zelda TASes. I'm still waiting on Oot and MM 100%. I think a TAS of WW would definitely be worth the wait.

With the tingle tuner and superswims, do you think that a full TAS of the Wind Waker could be under 3 hours?

Would a TAS of this game be faster than the HD edition? (I know there are no Wii U emulators, though) It is in RTA, but i'm not sure about tas.

Why do all the N64 emulators suck so much? It's hard to believe that even a wii emulator could be better as of now. Shouldn't an N64 be easier to emulate?

Why are superswims so hard to optimize? I'm not really familiar with how TASing this game works.
Regular Swimming in Wind Waker has several aspects that make optimization extremely difficult. 1. Speed is periodic based on the frame of swimming displayed. 2. The distance traveled affects your swimming frame. 3. Speed decays as your breath meter goes down. 4. However, animation cycle becomes shorter as your breath meter goes down. Super swimming adds the following: 1. Determining the optimal amount of time to spend storing super swim speed vs swimming (longer you spend the faster you go, but because of regular swim 1 and 2 this isn't linear, more like x sin x^2, the graph was posted up thread and it's completely crazy). 2. Determining the optimal time to leave shore nearby (if you leave shore 3 causes your speed increase to take longer; however, not leaving means having to cover more distance.) 3. And the big one: finding the correct controller positions to alternate between. Super swimming does not require perfect 180 degree turns, smaller ones can be acceptable (as small as 144 degrees?) Having a smaller angle means you move more sideways while charging your super swim, which can be toward your destination (but not too soon because of 3!). You have to find the controller positions anew each time your camera changes angle. There has not been discovered any new way to programmatically determine the proper super swim angle to use. Super swim problem/technique #3 might also (I'm not certain) reduce the rate that speed is stored. One more thing to optimize.
Wow. Would it even be possible to optimize superswims without some kind of script?

In a full TAS, how many A presses would it take to actually get to the levels themselves? You have to press the A button to get in some of them.

I agree. I don't really see a problem in downloading the (J) ISO. I'm not sure exactly how much time Japanese would save over the North American version because there are less triforce charts to collect. Someone should really look into that if they haven't already. I still think Japanese would be faster (because i know it is in real time).

Nice work, dude! I'm glad someone is working on a TAS of this! I've loved the super smash bros series since Melee first came out, so I'm stoked to see more progress on this.

I have never been able to get the sound to work properly on dolphin. Most people have dual-core off when they TAS. do you think that has anything to do with it?

That would be amazing. I watched a solo speed run of the SSE, and I think a co-op TAS would make a great addition to this site.

I know for a fact that Call of Duty games on Xbox, PS3, and PC have sensitivity options, but i'm not sure about the wii version.
