I get the feeling this game is nearly impossible to perfect. =P I'll be happy to watch this when an encode is made (Lets just say that my past experience with SNES emulators was... less then pleasant, that, and I don't actually think I have the disk space to actually get past the logo+movie combining stage).

Play it again, it kept desyincing for me until the 3rd or so play.

ShinyDoofy is taking forever to encode this, but FBA keeps desyncing (The 2nd attempt in dumping the AVI got further, the 3rd attempt crashed FBA). Looks like a great movie though, so Yes vote, no matter how unneeded it is.

I say it works well as a playaround, in the hacks/demos section, personally.

It has come to my attention that the DailyMotion uploads both have inaccurate end types and audio/visual desyncs. I'll reupload it to DailyMotion in a few days with a hand done encode when I am at my fathers house (My Mothers house has a 5gb download limit, and my plan is to literally just upload the H.264 lossless/PCM encodes rather then the official publication). It will be the exact same encode in content, but uploaded with a different codec (And perhaps ironically, the DailyMotion upload will actually have a higher quality of video then the published encode). I really do apologize for any inconvenience, due to the circumstances, it is completely out of my control.

Note to self: Revert joke topic titles BEFORE you sleep. If a mod could move my Mothers internet connection speed to the first post, it'd be grand.

Updated my first post, when I did the initial test, Dad was using the VPN. Now I've got better uploads. ^_^

VirtualDub can't touch mkv's, which is quite a pain actually.

This is why it takes forever for me to upload encodes. On the upside, I am one of the very few Australians that lacks a download/upload limit. EDIT by DarkKobold - topic title was inappropriate.

I suspect what you're hearing is either the presence or lack of "PSG high quality" and/or "soften filter" options in the sound menu. If either of those are different in the encode than your settings, the sound will be significantly different than what you're used to hearing. Incidentally, PSG High Quality and Soften Filter options should be off for site encodes, due to the way they change the audio.
Yep, they're both turned off for me. Mainly because when I watched the Shining Force run, the altered PSG really sounded horrible, though I am happy to see this also applys to ordinary encode standards too. And before I forget to mention it (Prompted by questions from confused people), I suggest Encode 1 if you want the highest quality possible and Encode 3 if you want a more publish worthy encode. I did make this point in the original post... but uh, evidently, I must have edited out in some point. The torrent for Encode 3 is NOT one using the TASVideos.org tracker, it uses a completely different tracker, I half did it because I figured the archive.org upload would screw up (Which it did).

Okay, I managed to get the Encode 3 Archive.org link working, but I'll be seeding the torrent anyway.

I'm sorry, but ZENEO9, this tool assisted speedrun is not going to get published if you know that it is simple and easy way of improving it as implied by your above posts. TASVideos.org strives for perfection, I know it can be hard to reach (I've yet to get there myself), but these things take time and effort. Several TAS's at this website have taken months, if not years in some cases to make. Rome was not built in a week, it was built to its peak, much like a TAS, if you try to take a shortcut the TAS falls to pieces. I really do suggest collaborating with someone to learn how to TAS and perhaps even get a publish worthy TAS.

And why are you avoiding the lightning bolts in the final stage? Isn't that the exact opposite of what they were trying to accomplish in the movie?
I think they actually damage you in the game itself, it's weird but according to one of the previous submissions of this game, it is true. I can't confirm this myself, but I'd trust an older submissions comments.

This is why I think it is a good idea if you get some human assistance rather then a written guide, I myself am not good at using a non-interactive guide. It is nice to see you making an effort though.

Well, going by your previous submissions, you simply don't put the effort required in. May I suggest reading the FAQ, as suggested in this submission you made that was also rejected, this is a link to the FAQ if you can't find it. Here is the guidelines also. I may also suggest asking for assistance from someone with actual TASing experience if you feel more comfortable talking with an actual human being then just the sites guides. We don't hate you, by no means we don't, but we have found your works to be mostly sloppy.

[21:21] <FlygonBreloom> This won't get published =\ [21:22] <wod3n> ugh, fighter TASes.. [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> I know =| [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> It doesn't even complete the game [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> And he seems to openly admit that it is improvable [21:23] <fsvgm777> I guess this one is going to be rejected very soon. [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> I don't have the guts to tell him it won't happen [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> ... [21:23] <FlygonBreloom> So I'll just copy and paste this IRC chat [21:24] <fsvgm777> Good idea.
This basically explains my thoughts, I'm sorry but I just can't see this getting published.

Click here to download. Set the time in the .bat using Notepad for when you want the movie to split, then drag the .mkv or .avi into the .bat file. It will create files after that.

That was great! Yes voted. Encode 1: Archive.org Filesize: 138 megabytes Bitrate: 350 Audio quality: 0 Encode 2: Mediafire Filesize: 99 megabytes Bitrate: 250 Audio quality: -1 Encode 3: Archive.org Torrent (Will be inactive when publication is made) Filesize: 105 megabytes Bitrate: 250 Audio quality: 0 Video streaming website: DailyMotion Note: This video comes in three parts, if DailyMotion fails to tell you to go to the next video when nearing the end of a segment, there is a manual link inside the video description. Of all the encodes I suggest downloading, I recommend the first one, I consider the third one most publish worthy (If a publication happens), but I get the feeling a certain someone will 1-up me. ^_^ Only the second encode is on Mediafire due to its 100 megabyte file size limit. The torrent exists due to earlier problems with uploading the video, now it is just up just in case you are unable to use the archive.org upload. =3

Okay, fixed the URL links, sorry adelikat but even if Shadow of the Beast has much better music, the beast that is Back to the Future is a blast from the past living in the current time and day that is here to torture us all. We shall develop a plan to make a tool assisted time machine to force this music into 700AD, hopefully crazy religious sects will burn it up to hell.

I await the day someone makes a NES rickroll. It will happen, I just know it... assuming space isn't a problem. How much space can the NES address?
