Battle Chess in 11:28: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3206/Battle%20Chess%20%28U%29%20FractalFusion%2011.28.fcm Virtually the same as the previous run, except I take back 2 (moves) and then 2, rather than 3 and then 1. It's not 1337 anymore. :) Move list: 1. e4 @4000 1. .. e5 2. Bc4 @16500 2. .. Nf6 3. Qh5 @24000 3. .. Nxh5 4. Bxf7+ @29500 4. .. Kxf7 5. f3 @36000 5. .. Qh4+ 6. g3 Take back 2 times. @39000 4. .. Kxf7 Take back 2 times 3. .. .. (Black loses a move) 4. Qxf7# Numbers after @ are appoximate frame numbers for CPU moves. As usual, I highly suggest watching this on fast-forward (1600% speed).

Well, there is some additional text just below the Robot Masters' names. I liked the movie, and it should be published. Yes vote.

The sound plays at twice the speed in WMP. In MPlayer, it works fine.

Good job, parrot14green. I wonder in how many places this trick can be used.

Agreed, if someone was to obsolete all my TASes on here I wouldn't bitch or moan. I actually would encourage people to because I just want to see my favorite games destroyed.
So you'd be happy to wake up tomorrow and see the front page littered with 100 movies published each one exactly 1 frame faster than the previous version (and most of these because of something stupid like stopping the movie 1 frame sooner).
Destroyed does not equal 1 frame faster. Destroyed means using interesting and surprising new tricks to beat games in ways no one else would think.

That's why I call Pokemon "it". :) kirbymuncher, have you already tried manipulating further back? If it's not working in 100 tries, then its success or failure might have been determined before the point that you're luck-manipulating from.

it's what i search lol... i suppose it's frame advance but i don't know how use it to do the same thing as the video when the player write his name "primo" at the beginning it take only 1 seconde what is the function to do lot of action in 1 seconde?
We create key-input movies using slowdown and savestates. Key-input movies are not the AVI and WMV files you see. They only tell the emulator how to replay the movie from the beginning. We spend a long time creating these key-input movies, and the emulator can play it back so it appears that the game plays normally. Please read Why and How if you haven't already. P.S. Another reason not to support these movies on YouTube. Just look at the comments. YouTube regular users do not spend even one second to look at the description (and even if they did, they wouldn't care).

How do you manage a trade in a single player TAS? Or is there some glitch I don't know about that lets you catch anything?
shallow was speaking in general, not in particular for this run.

I'd like to see an improvement too. Good job for finding glitches, parrot14green!

I liked the battle chess idea where you abuse the take back feature to move twice. That is certainly something you won't see in normal chess play (pro chess anyway). Unfortunately the CPU takes to long to move, it is just 20 minutes of waiting for the cpu to move.
If we run Battle Chess only to show glitches, there is no need to play on hardest difficulty. Also, the glitches have nothing to do with a TAS. No luck-manipulation, none whatsoever. At least Chessmaster on the easiest difficulty has luck-manipulation (far too little of it, though). Besides, 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Ke7 3. Qxe5# doesn't do the game justice, even if it is a surprising move sequence.

What were your moves and what was the difficulty mode used? There's a newcomer mode that's even easier than the default mode.

I am not sure then. In Pokemon Gold, it has a 1/4 chance of working. Try manipulating at an instance further back (before the trainer sends out the Pokemon). If that still doesn't work, try going even further back.

Did you try turning off Real Time Clock? It works if you do, although it probably should have been on in the first place. kirbymuncher, is it possible to pass random looking trainers if you walk by them instead of running? Anyway, I'm glad that the run worked for me.

Also, from your words, your attitude seems to be that of discouraging those who are offering to help your site. Whether your attitude really is that is unknown, but it seems to be that way.

Just my thoughts on this subject, though I guess a lot of the current convention (all lowercase, no spaces at all) came about due to *n?x's case-sensitiveness, as well as the command line, which probably doesn't like spaces.
What is *n?x? Better question: Why not write "Linux/Unix"? That's far easier to understand, at least for the average user.

More encoders would be helpful. However, the chances of that happening are slim when the page explaining how to encode things comes across like a condescending jackass (“spoon-fed instructions”).
I shall change it then. I read it many times before and never thought much.

Microstorage There are also general file upload services that everyone should know, such as Savefile and Rapidshare. If you search before asking, you will do everyone a favor.

This page has some information on Pokemon R/B that might help you. Specifically, the DVs of the current opponent is CFF1 and the DVs of the first Pokemon in your party is D186. There is no rule against double posting, although it is generally discouraged when the posts are less than a few hours apart. Your posts are a month apart, so it is all right; in fact it is encouraged because anyone who isn't using IRC at the moment will not know that you edited the last post. You should know though that it is better to find existing topics to post in, rather than making new topics. This is in reference to 3 of 4 topics you created in this forum.

8 minutes faster thanks to a different strategy. Nxh5 4. Bxf7+ @29500 4. .. Kxf7 5. f3 @36000 5. .. Qh4+ 6. g3 Take back 3 times. @46000 3. .. Nxh5 Take back 3. .. .. (Black loses a move) 4. Sometimes, Bisqwit changes it for you automatically. Sometimes not. I had my status changed and didn't realize it for a while. Edit: Mukki, I'm sure you meant 40 posts, but I'm pointing it out just in case new users become confused.

spockybiemmichab, I was able to jump two barriers in Chill Penguin's stage because of downslope jumping, so Zurreco is right (although it doesn't really need a critical point; any point going downhill will do). You will notice that the slopes are actually upslopes. I press left for a couple frames to walk downslope, then jump and press right. Downslope jumping increases airborne horizontal velocity as well as initial vertical velocity, hence, the higher jump. It cannot be used with dashing. Now that I looked at the Armored Armadillo picture, I realized that I missed an overhang walljump. There's an improvement.

Absolutely excellent. There were only two spots in Armored Armadillo stage where I thought you could do a jump without grabbing the wall. But that's probably not true...
Now that I remember, there is a spot where I had to stop rightward drift by hitting the floor. I can jump into the pit directly, but the problem is that the rightward drift will carry X all the way to the right side and land where I don't want him to go. Pressing left does not help. Edit:

Well, there's not anything inherently special about getting a game under (or sub, because sub is a popular word) 30 minutes either, in my opinion. I never understood the fascination with sub this and sub that.
Yes, but it gave me something to aim for. I wouldn't be depressed if I couldn't beat it. It's actually not a big deal; in my opinion, 29:58 looks worse than 30:00.
