Does anyone know whether snc is still working on improvements? If not, I'll set the submission status back to new.

Is there a particularly good reason to restrict the run to be without spindashes? "More like Sonic 1" is not a good reason. We are with the knowledge that the player can and is expected to use spindash, and that spindash is what makes the current Sonic 2 and S3&K runs entertaining.

Hm, strange bug. Thanks for reporting it. Anyway, to resume from a point, make a savestate there (Shift+F1), then load the savestate in read+write mode (F1).

Is it just me or does this run desync at Wing Fortress? Tried US and Japanese modes but both desync. It is nice to see something unique.
It desyncs on REV00 but works on REV01: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (W) (REV01) [!].gen

Bobo the King, are you planning to redo, or do you want to leave this submission as it is? Or both?

Searching by stroke count sucks; don't do it. Search by parts/radicals instead. This is the best one I've seen: http://jlex.org/search/parts Once you have the kanji (or if you already have it), dump it into here: http://www.manythings.org/kanji/search/ This will give you the meaning of Japanese words with this kanji. It might save you from searching another kanji.

In my opinion, this is a cool run. However I have questions. In Miami Bonus, you kill yourself off in the most unceremonious way. How much slower would it be just to complete it? Wouldn't it be better to complete it? You suicided in Miami Bonus, but why not the other bonus levels?

It is a desync. You need FCEU-rr 0.98.15 for the last table. Bisqwit, the glitch for the 60th table appears only to work on v15. Is it an accurate glitch (that is, one which can be done on console), or one which is caused by the emulator? Edit: Question answered already.

Have to agree with sgrunt here. It seems too repetitive, with all the similar-looking rooms and machine sequences.

I don't know if any of you knows this, but there is a congratulation message that I did not get to in the movie. (Just press A after it says "Black is checkmated".)

As for the hack, I'm leaning towards accepting this hack (energy underflow glitch), but allowing the possibility of being obsoleted by the newer version of the hack which fixes the undeflow glitch (though I think it won't be done).

I watched this in DeSmuME. Unfortunately, there were hardly any entertaining parts. The best parts were the "Escape" (~24:00), the shooter part (~29:00), the "write note" (~32:00), and the entire 9-Volt round (~40:45). There isn't much otherwise, as cutscenes make up a large part of this run.

This mate, and another related mate (1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. Ke2 Qe4#) remind me of the sometimes quoted ancient rule that a player must move his king if he touched a piece that had no legal move. That rule is obviously not around anymore. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch-move_rule#History Edit: You can still touch the king, and lose that way.

Encode: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xde7a2_tas-sms-zillion-100-tas-by-caitsit_videogames The sound is a bit off, unfortunately, because I used the VfW provided in Dega v1.16.

Fool's mate can't be done. It takes too long to switch sides, and the computer's opening book does not allow an initial move of f3, f4, or g4. Even if the computer was taken out from its opening book, there are only a limited number of moves that it decides to make. I was initially surprised that it would choose the move it did here.

The "values" of characters are listed in this chart: http://tasvideos.org/PokemonTricks/Values.html

I watched this run and have one important question: How much faster is "any%" than "100%"? Would "any%" be better?

DiamondPhoenix, what is the name of the DeSmuME executable you used, and what is its size?

Also, there's a button at the bottom right of the video (beside the sound icon) which turns off the scrolling comment crap.

I never even realized the "credits" existed. That makes it very entertaining! I surmised that someone would submit a TAS of this game sooner or later, though I didn't expect it to be not on April Fools. Voting Yes just because.

Quick question: anyone know what the music for Bubble Man's stage is from? Or any of the others, for that matter. The only one I recognized was Heat Man's stage, which is the intro stage to Megaman Zero 2. Edit: and Metal Man's stage, which Sir VG correctly identified below, but I'd forgotten about because honestly it's a pretty forgettable theme.

Anyway you could make the maps more realistic by having all users who walk up the top of the map end up walking down from the top of the map, halfway around it, like this:
The top half is backwards. It should be flipped and shifted.

Tell me your secret. How did you do this run so fast? I can't do 40K rerecords in two months. Anyway, this was a great TAS to watch.

I'd like to know how the monochrome encodes were done; I didn't see any option in VBjin for this.
Probably AviSynth to split red/blue onto different screens, and set to gray.
