Wow, this is a spectacular movie. An RPG that's played far more quickly than I'd have estimated, and yet you can still follow the text most of the time. Pretty cool. I'm surprised equipment was of so little importance. One problem with these long RPG runs is that it seems so unlikely that anyone would want to invest the time to make an improvement. :P

I haven't been around as much but I'm still really looking forward to it, Bablo. EDIT: But don't let my bursting enthusiasm for this stop you from working on MM7!

I watched this twice ages ago, and I guess I needed to think hard about how I'd vote on it. This game is amazingly boring, but attaining this time is perhaps even more amazing. I'll give this a yes, I suppose.

Wow, this looks great so far. It'll be hard to tell how well it's optimized when it's finished, but it looks like the three player control will help it keep its interest better than some of the other RPG runs available. You've only had the three characters briefly on this WIP, but I hope you can keep up that kind of quality!

Heh, this slowed down as soon as I came back to it. You were doing great, Frenom.

I'd been watching the WIPs, I just had to make sure that the final stages checked out. They did indeed. Very fun movie.

The first one is the error. Instead of repeating the entire texture, the end of the texture continues across the surface creating plain lines rather than repeated textures. That's pretty bad.

incidentally, can you take demi into your party, steal her gun and give it to wren, then bring raja for profound darkness?
This is a good idea, but it would be a minor waste of time if Wren weren't going to be using his regular attack. That might be useful.

Yeah, this is a great movie so far. I really like how you use the Tengu Blade and Ice Wall to compensate for Rockman's lack of dash and double jump. The Magic Man stage was great for that. You've also thrown in some interesting things during some of the waiting times like at the end of the Tengu Man battle. That was cool.

I can't think of many helpful things that you wouldn't already know, but anyways... -Lashiec is weak to fire, thu and efess. -He has an attack called posession that causes sleep but isn't used frequently. If this targets Wren that's a wasted turn. -Thndhalbrt is a lightning-type attack but it uses your defense rather than magic defense to calculate damage. Warla would reduce its damage by Kyra's mental stat for all characters, but it will still probably clobber Wren (Deban does the same thing as Warla but it'll have a lesser effect). Furthermore, there's only one piece of equipment that resists electric attacks and you can't have it yet. -Anothrgate is physical but does use magic defense as resistance, so barrier will affect its damage. -There's nothing to dodge in this battle, so saner's only use is to act more quickly. -Your best damage, obviously, is going to be from grandcross, rayblade and efess, then nathu and nafoi (as with almost every boss in this game). -He'll cast reinforce when his HP gets low, I think you can use the psyco-wand to nullify that.

Crap, after Frenom fell away from the site for a while, so did I. I'm sad that I've been missing this! I'm pumped to watch the WIP when I get home. Was Demi still attacking during Sandworms? Laco Rod will only work on "evil" enemies, its damage is probably only moderate even against them. It's not useless, but a lot of enemies will only take 1 damage from it. It's probably not worth the time for your purposes.

What's the source of your mechanical information on SAW? I thought it required a certain minimum strength statistic to work.

When I read about this in the other FF6 (Final Fantasy III) topic, I thought it was a joke or something. This is very impressive so far. I'm really looking forward to the end product. I guess the hard part begins in the next room, having to carefully determine who learns what spells and how.

It's kind of weird because a lot of games don't really need intros. Often it's just a logo and a "push start". This game seems like it really should have one though to let you pick a character.

Yes, both Genesis X-Men titles start out strangely like this. It's very confusing the first time you put the cartridge in to start playing.

Ooh, I have a feeling that this information will prove very useful! So, how do diagonal controls increase the menu speed? Is that for diagonal selections only? I didn't think many menus in this game scrolled in more than one dimension. It sounds like this could be a pretty entertaining RPG movie. 10 minutes for the first world is really good.

Wow, the dance with Elecman is amazing! This is a (sort of unnecessary) yes. Bombman: "Why can't you just use the door like everybody else?"

I did take it seriously (someone put a lot of work into it, after all), but it seems like there are problems with it nonetheless.

Frenom hasn't posted in ages... it makes me sad. Curse you, Guild Wars! Y'know, Wren is going to be pretty lame. He'll be totally underlevelled and won't have his two best attacks. Thankfully (for him?) there will probably be about 10 battles left in the entire run. Normally, Wren can carry the team.

Whoa, I watched this months ago and I thought I voted on it already. It's so lonely on the submission queue (2 votes? C'mon now.) that I thought perhaps I ought to check. I enjoyed it, yes.

It is because people think the playing quality is low, or because it's not interesting enough for anyone to take the time to watch it?
The game seems pretty fast and action packed, and the playing is good, but I don't feel very familiar with this game. If there were a mistake I don't think I'd see it. In any case, I enjoyed watching it and it seemed well done from what I know. I suppose that's fair grounds to vote yes.

Hm, nobody seems to have given the answer as I know it yet. "Meh" contributes to the uncertainty level in the poll. I'm sure that for some games, this helps the judges with their decisions. A game that's 100% with 20 yes votes is somewhat easy to agree with. A game that is 100% with 10 yes and 10 meh obviously contains something questionable and should perhaps be reviewed more carefully.

Okay, it really appears that Medusa is the only low-level monster with a reasonable death attack. This is especially great because it works on (I think) literally everything up until Venus, and after that you can grab a dragon pretty much immediately. Using the warp glitch, I count 16 compulsory battles. Some extras will have to be fought for the monster's sake. If this were FF1, I'd say "forget the monster", but I have a feeling luck manipulation will be very, very difficult to yield a good outcome and a lot of compromises will have to be made. Anyways, assuming I've learned this monster-morphing crud correctly, the fastest way to attain a Medusa is to select a Baby-D as your monster, proceed to the second world. Eat WereRat meat to become a Sprite, and eat Snake meat to become a Medusa. That will carry the game for a while. In fact, only two compulsory fights occur before this is possible. At the end of the game, it's possible to clear a battle of Fenrirs by just using the Hyper cannon. That would turn a Medusa into a DarkRose, which is waaaaay the heck stronger, but pretty crappy relative to other high level monsters. After attaining DarkRose, fighting one extra battle to attain a stronger form (ie. Athtalot, Kusanagi, Titania) may be faster. Kusanagi is probably the best offensively, so they need to eat a dragon meat (like Sei-Ryu). Then on to the endboss. I haven't started playing yet, but I'm confident that Robot/Robot/Baby-D/Mutant-F is faster than Robot/Baby-D/other monster/Mutant-F. Changing monster forms is going to require a lot of effort, and you actually need to kill things for it to happen. I think gathering some extra chests (for a much greater net result) while avoiding all battles is probably faster than fighting 2 extra, very difficult battles. Still, it might be worth doing a test run of another party. This totals 19-20 battles. Some extras may be fought if they severely benefit luck manipulation or if they drop useful items. I theorize that only a small amount of money will be needed, spent on ability restoration. I still need to think about which chests are worth getting.

To me, this wasn't strictly as entertaining to me as the DW4 run, but hey, it was shorter and you can see the heavy emphasis on planning far down the road and luck manipulation. Poor Glynn. I guess that skill at long-range planning comes from iteration, huh? Yes vote.

I'm doubting that this'll get a star because those are generally recommended for new viewers. Not only are large portions of this movie going to be boring for people who haven't played it, but for those who have it may be setting the bar too high. Yes vote. Despite its length, it was entertaining.
