why? the game ends on DE2 whether or not he gets all emeralds. there's no hyper tails. you don't get super tails till you have all 14 emeralds. and super tails is completely useless.

oh hes doing the knuckles 100% run, nevermind then <_< still might want to look into it for the sonic any% run though.

I was messing around in MH1 and I did an instashield into the ring/fire shield combo, and at the same time I got hit by the mushroom guys mushrooms and got pushed into the ground enough to zip (I wasn't expecting it and flew to the left) I'm not sure if this would save time but you might want to give it a shot when you get there. I was having trouble replicating it though.

I think I already said this in a previous post but: I believe there are improvements to metropolis 1 and 3 (screw glitch) and casino night 1 can go down to 23 with the new zip found by koshi. also I think upth knows of minor improvements to other levels (or am I mistaken?) also I thought the WF platforms didn't depend on previous levels.

I was thinking you could use a different character for each game (i.e. sonic for s1 tails for s2 sonic&tails for s3 and knuckles for s&k.) of course having tails be able to fly sonic around freely in s3 might not make for that entertaining of a video.

Indeed the best I have been getting thus far is mid-14 (0:14:27 to be accurate) in Metropolis 2: see this.
I'm pretty sure I did a 0:14:06 run and synced up the rest of metropolis (although SC desyncs) I thought that upth had more improvements earlier in the run though so didn't feel like putting effort into the other improvements..

I still think this should be played on "pro" I think this could also be improved by having p1 and p2 do different things. priams idea of having one side go for largest combo sounds good. or you could have one side play on pro and the other on novice. another idea I have is you could have one side lose a few times to manipulate the blocks (only if this leads to a shorter game time of course)

casino night 1 can be done in 23. I think theres also a lot of other small improvements that I don't know of.

it seems it only happens (or at least happens much more frequently) on the US version of neutopia I have (its [o1][h1] I don't know why a bad dump would cause crashes but that could have something to do with it). so this isn't as serious a problem as I had thought.

iirc I saved less then a second (about 45 frames in game). also I don't think it was perfect. for instance I managed to get through the left wall in gh2 2 frames faster then the old TAS but couldn't get the tunnel trick so I scrapped it. also in marble 2 I was a decent amount ahead of the old TAS but then lost a bunch on the monitor/zip, then gained them back again at the end of the level. anyway I don't think its really worth a new submission, I'll probably just put a link to it in the sonic 1 topic and let other people try and perfect things and resync to submit.

this still crashes for me almost every time I save a state and load it while playing a movie. and sometimes when I'm not. :(

it crashes every time I save and then load a save state I swear it used to only crash about ever 15-50 times I loaded a savestate when I first noticed it. and don't recall it happening when I first used pcejin. but I just tested it and it happen'd every time. ok thats wierd I just tested it again and it was working fine for awhile, then it crashed when I saved. edit: it just crashed when I hit frame advance. seems its a "access violation exception"

if I understand what you're saying sonic is too tall to roll under those spikes, only tails can.

I finished working your improvements into GH1 and managed to get another 6 frame improvement (making it 24:33) I was a bit slower then you out of the loop though so I think there might be another couple frames in there. also I looked at marble2 just now and noticed that he didn't use the left-right trick (WHY IS IT THE PREVIOUS AUTHOR FORGOT THE LEFT-RIGHT TRICK IN ALMOST EVERY LEVEL >:o) and it seemed like there were a lot of other small mistakes too.

no I didn't know there was a 5 frame improvement to green hill 1. it looked like theres a minor improvement to marble 2 to me but supposedly that was to prevent you from over shooting the next platform or something, and iirc I couldn't get the super zip to work in that level. (I found your gmv now, I had seen that post before and for some reason thought that it was before the last movie submission, and thus that it was old improvements. I'll see about working this in. I'm still not sure about the marble 2 improvement though. I would like to see it.)

oh is sonics hitbox wider then knuckles? that might make sense that, I thought you might have to do a backward spindash exactly how its done in the youtube video to do it with sonic (and also have him land in the same spot)

I think theres an improvement to sandopolis 1 to be had: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_ySIMbLxM4&feature=player_embedded if you can do it as knuckles you can almost certainly do it as sonic, all you'd have to do is have tails land sonic in that exact spot.

you didn't have to go down the last set of stairs to get to le roof (just wait a frame after opening the chest) and I'm guessing thats all you would have had to do at the top of the first tower as well.

try waiting an extra frame before opening the menu to teleport on the first tower as well. thats my best guess.

before OPENING THE MENU, not before teleporting. also the first frame after the text box disappears is a lag frame so you can't open the menu then. leave one non-lag frame after opening the chest before opening the menu

I thought I said the only thing you need to do to get le roof to show up is wait 1 frame before opening the menu after opening the last chest.
