The camera is the limiting factor of speed in this game. It is the reason for the unskippable autoscrollers as well as much of the direction changes for launching and out-of-bounds movement.

So funnily enough I was bleeding time unknowingly to some weird RNG. If a kirby trips and falls in this animation the dance takes longer to start. Found a way to manipulate it though.

I've gone back and started implementing a few new finds and other general techniques I picked up in the early levels that are the sloppiest because I was a bit hasty to start the TAS. It looks much, much better now, and I've already shaved off 32 seconds (!!).
