Please, I'm flattered. There are lots of great SMB TASers out there, especially in China now. I did help a lot testing, and finding some improvements in 2-1, 4-1 and the route of 4-2, but currently I only have enough time for Mars608's warpless walkathon and my Hard Relay Mario projects. Mainly it's 87316156 working on the project now, and he's doin' great, tough job though. I may probably join the project after World 4, if they need an extra hand. :)

Actually the input on the right side isn't the same as what I used for current any% 1-1. It's really not about subpixel. Maybe if you check my input and you'll find the answer. :)

Well it's not a secret. 87316156 and TEHH have just finished World 3 3 weeks ago. The movie's entertaining already, but World 4 would be really shocking, so I'd prefer to keep you shocked. I think it won't take long to see the WIP coming.

Sorry that I must have misunderstood what you said. What I used for accelerating in current any% 1-1 should be the fastest. To "lose 1 subpixel on purpose" cannot save subpixels in my opinion. I'd like to be proved wrong, though. :)

It's not about the subpixel, it's for the subspeed, and it's known since klmz's run.

Of cource not. The route is used for a shortcut, and it's only a little faster than the regular walking speed. :)

I think the correct frame would be around 48545. It's easy to get a bullet coming out at 48553 but it's not useful to save the frame rule. :)

Time saving improvements are mentioned below (mostly found by HappyLee, except 3-2), but more improvements for entertainment waiting for you to see. 1-3: 21 frames were saved for better optimization at the mushroom and the last Koopa. 1-4: 21 frames were saved for a different strategy including going through a wall, and strict optimization for Bowser. 2-1: 166 frames were saved for jumping into the sky stage through a pipe for a shortcut. 3-2: 21 frames were saved for reasons known while making the first warpless walkathon TAS. 4-1: 21 frames were saved for a brand new strategy of pushing Mario to the right side of the screen and do the marginal flagpole glitch. 21 frames can be saved over the warped walkathon TAS using the similar way. 4-3: 378 frames were saved for a better strategy of kicking the shell, which saved a time waiting for the Koopa's recovering. Levels done by Mars608: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 2-4, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 4-2, 4-4, 5-1. Levels done by HappyLee: 1-4, 2-1, 2-2, 3-4, 4-1, 4-3. We'd like to thank everyone who enjoys the warpless walkathon TAS. Currently we've met a problem in 5-2 which would probably cost us 21 frames, and we don't have any better way to prove that it's impossible to get a perfect bullet like Mars608 had last time but to test it again and again in many different ways. So if anyone has time, please help us to prove that or to get a miracle that keeps the 21 frames in 5-2. Thank you. Oh and another thing, the giant project: SMB maximum coins TAS was about to be half-way done, too. I think that is going to be the most epic SMB TAS ever! Thanks to the great effort from 87316156 and TEHH of making the run. I'll be posting the WIP here as soon as W4 is finished, and I'm sure it wouldn't let you down. :)

The WIP is pretty good. Perhaps a few frame rules can be saved that way, for I didn't use memory watching back when I made that TAS. I was trying to find a major improvement to improve my run, such as a new route, but I tried almost every route I can think of but failed to find a faster one. If you're able to find a faster route then I'd really be shocked. Good luck. :)

Is it just my problem or does anyone has the same problem having desync audio when playing both encodes? All the previous encodes I downloaded play normally, but this one desyncs everytime on both 10bit444 and 512kb encodes.

I believe the same thing, but neither of them could be improved unless some brand new technologies come up. SMB has been indeed optimised to the max.

Sorry that I haven't told you that the author has found some improvements in the previous worlds (which seem amazing) and been remaking it from the begining with a new team. Unfortunatelly the process became very slow. They has just finished world 2 a month ago, and I can't imagine when they are going to finish 4-1 and 4-2, but since it's a really huge project and the authors are working hard on it, I think what we can do is just to wait... Meanwhile Mars and I are working on SMB warpless walkathon, which is also a huge project, but we've already saved lots of frames in 1-3, 1-4 and 2-1 using new routes and technologies. We'll send a WIP after another breakthrough. :)

No you can't actually get into the first pipe 1 frame faster. It doesn't matter which frame Mario disappears. Any actual 1 frame improvement would save 21 frames in 1-1, but that's very unlikely to be happening.

It's probably not a good goal to create a entertaining TAS. Although it got rejected here, it became the second most-watched TAS in China for some reasons... :)

Wow. That's more than I expected. My point is that, SMB is a really glitchy game, and entertainment mainly comes from glitches. Even andrewg's warped console run is glitchy. To make a glitchless run, it might not be even as interesting as a well-made console run. Besides, it's really hard to define "glitchless" in SMB. Is this a glitch? You may sometimes do that unconsciously on console. Is backward jumping a glitch? It's hard to define. All in all, "glitchless" in SMB would never make a good goal. The game SMB is probably TASed to death by now (mainly my fault), but there are lots of things to TAS such like hacks or similar games. I'm sure you'll make great progress if you keep trying. :)
