Hey, awesome. Thanks! I was hoping to trigger them myself, but I'm gonna have a lot of fun reading up on the list of games you linked. If that doesn't sate me I'll definitely google around for what you recommended. Cheers!

Hey cool TAS folks! Is there some general way to trigger a game's anti-piracy measures so I can explore them a bit? I'm fascinated by all the insidious that things old games do when they detect a pirated copy. I'm sure it's not as simple as I'm hoping, but even a hint of where to start would be much appreciated!

I am loving every second of this Metroid Prime work. Amazing so far! (The spinning and shooting makes me kinda nauseous but I'll live :P)

I'm not sure if the debate has been settled, but I'd like to add my voice to the group saying that while progress in general looks great so far, the random shooting does bring it down a notch. Other than that though, keep up the good work guys. Really excited at the prospect of finally having a MM9 TAS!

Voting no because I didn't like the camera angles. Seriously mind-blowing job guys, it's true that I watched the entire thing the whole way through and wasn't bored for a second (well, except the swimming parts ;P). I'll be watching this many more times I'm sure. It's amazing what you've accomplished, I hope you are proud!

Some great recommendations in here. I have two to add, pretty sure they haven't been mentioned yet: The Spy Who Came In From the Cold by John Le Carre -Written with such a masterful command of the English language and such style you'll enjoy it even if grim spy novels aren't your thing. Just try a chapter or even a page. You'll keep reading just to see this man work magic with words. Seriously. Farewell, My Lovely by Raymond Chandler -To me, the epitome of hard-boiled, private-eye detective writing -- if that's your bag you'll love this. It's a classic of the genre and it's got all the staples, deadly dames and crooked cops and a complex mystery plot, etc etc. It's also done with a hell of a lot of panache. Check it out!

Looks like you're a glitch-finding machine Cronikeys, keep it up! I love BK and would love to see it get torn apart even more. :D So I got a question. What happens if you initiate a 'zombie flutter' while you're already zombie fluttering? Maybe it's a silly idea -- I don't TAS -- but I was thinking of giving it a shot if you haven't already!

Welcome to the forum, Ianthraxx. Wow, your run is great! The built-in Snes9x lag indicator does not work well, unfortunately, but I have a Lua script that is better for indicating this, somewhat. Rolanmen1 and I are currently working on improving the Mega Man X 100%, and our run is a bit faster so far. But it's great that you started learning how to TAS with this game. I look forward to more in the future.
Hey, wow, I definitely wasn't expecting to get a response from you yourself haha. Thanks a lot for the info and encouragement, that's really too bad it doesn't work though. I'm looking forward to seeing how you and Rolanmen1 improve the current run!

Hey everyone! I'm a long-timer lurker here, I absolutely love TASes and I feel it's time to get into the art and learn how it's done! I understand this is a very lofty goal and maybe not the best way to begin, but I'm learning SNES9x TASing using Mega Man X, comparing my times with FractalFusion's currently published run. One thing that's really confounding me is lag and the Lag Counter feature, though. Near as I can tell, lag is definitely happening -- there are certain frames where absolutely everything freezes and no values change. That's lag, isn't it? I have the Lag Counter on and reset it at the beginning of making my movie, but it never does anything. It's always at zero and never changes, leaving me to go frame-by-frame checking for lag and then testing to see if it can be avoided. I uploaded the movie in case it would be helpful: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1582445038/Mega%20Man%20X%20%28V1.1%29%20%28U%29%20Ianthraxx.smv If someone can point out where I'm going wrong here, I'd greatly appreciate it! Criticism of any kind is also welcome (apologies if this isn't the forum for that, maybe I should ask in the SNES forums?) but learning to understand lag is my primary concern. Thanks again!
