There are at least two different "paths" to bounce from enemy to enemy in Act 3. Xebra came up with the first one, mine is just a slight modification that isn't faster or slower. AKA: If you are starting to worry about frames, I would strongly suggest doing the first couple acts over again with more precision. nfq: Wow, nice find in GH2. Clever!

I must be using a bad route. I can't seem to get much faster than 50 minutes.

I remember playing this game, thinking it would be a fun sequel to Skate or Die. Boy, was I surprised.
LOL, that's awesome. Back when the game first came out, I was too young to know any better. Every game was good! I recently tried some ideas to help the fourth level, but all of them failed. This included getting the HiJump board and all the tricks and trying to jump into spots on the walls above the doors. All I could accomplish was going through to the other side of the screen, in the same room.

So why is is that you can complete the game without ever beating Kraid? Or that it is possible to complete the game without ever getting Hi-jump or the grappling beam? Or that you can get Screw Attack before Space Jump? Maybe you're just not that great at finding this stuff.
Do any of these breaks require infinite bomb jumping? Because that just about requires frame perfection in this hack.

I think the only places where wheel might be faster overall are the places where the level is designed specifically for it. Also, it's surprising how powerful Tornado is against bosses. Certainly weaker than Hammer, but so much that it's obvious to me which bosses would benefit from it. Anyway, get to it, Bag!

This happens around weekly to me, regardless of url changes. I didn't think anything abnormal of it at first.

I believe he's saying that the "look at my hand, I just threw something!" animation should be spent in the air as much as possible.

No objections. Does anyone happen to know off-hand what <30 second time completion will give the same real time as 30 seconds with the differing bonuses?

I'm not positive in every case, that's why I said I had a feeling. But comparing your run to Baxter's run shows that although you do lose some time, Tornado is powerful enough against bosses to render that irrelevant. The most likely exceptions that could benefit from the Hammer would be when there are several bosses in a row (7-2? I believe) or close together, combined with good opportunities to get Tornado or Mix again afterwards, and also with Dedede since there is no need for Tornado after him.

First of all, I'm glad to see someone taking a stab at this game. In critique to your run so far, I am assuming you are going for overall time before in-game time, since you waited until 30 seconds to finish the level. This is purely up to the author. However, I don't think this is a good reason to include sloppy play - things like bumping into platforms and losing your forward momentum, slowing down to get rings when there are others that could be obtained quicker, overshooting the ring count, and slight delay at the beginning before jumping. Although it's not affecting your total time in the level, it detracts from the entertainment factor. If you want to go for overall time before in-game time, it's probably best to still do the level as quickly as possible, and save the waiting for the end of the level. Otherwise, it doesn't look very tool-assisted.

I'm stuck again. Where do you go after getting the first 8 balls? I'm at "Dr. Cliche's secret underwater lab" or something like that but I think some sort of a flying or swimming ability is required to survive the square room with the lasers.
Spoiler (highlight to see): Head to the lower-right of the main map (underground), where there is a lava pit with air blowing up from it. Fall down and head to the right. There's an area that you can use Ball #8 to bounce very high and get to ShadowLands.

I thought Balls 1 thru 4 were enough in that area. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

There's a Wendy's advertisement I saw at the restaurant that says "Frosty: The only soquid you eat with a fpoon." I had no idea what to make of it. I thought fpoon was supposed to be someone saying spoon with a cold mouth, but after reading what you posted, it seems it could be a fork-spoon, just as so-quid is a solid-liquid. Xebra's original idea was a spin-off of this same slogan. Soquid...what a dumb idea.

I'm also too lazy to figure that out. But I have a feeling that it's always faster to keep Tornado, except for Dedede.

I found another sequence break. I couldn't find where to go after getting Ball #7, except for the water level, which I couldn't get past the third room. I left the level, and then I found this place called "savegame.ini" and started trying things until I added "HasFreezeBall=1" to the list, which gave me a new Ball! But now I've found where to actually go, so the game continues without said sequence break / cheat. Ball #4 is my favorite, especially when always holding S.

Does anyone have an idea what "soquid" is supposed to mean on that stupid Wendy's advertisement? (I figured out that "fpoon" really means spoon, so no need to fill me in there)

This is a blast! Best game I've played in a while. I'm currently working on the cavern level that requries the trickery with the glass ball. I also got Ball #4 before Ball #3 (oooooh sequence break!!)

If you want to see a finished run of a game that no one else feels like doing, then it will probably be done the fastest if you do it yourself. I admit I'm too lazy to use Tornado for 40 minutes frame-by-frame.

If crazy enough, anyone could find anyone. It's really not a debatable matter; each individual will take it as seriously as they feel they need to.

I thought there was an extra chip found in the S&K cart that takes over main processing when Sonic 2 is locked onto it, with data taken from the Sonic 2 cart. IMPBlackBelt, where did you hear your info from?
