Nice! I don't see why we shouldn't have a run both for entertainment and for speed, even if the latter ends up in Vault.
On Nico deleting TAS vids, I have a "WR Smash64 1P Mode (TAS) in 0:05:44" video saved here from some time ago, was it the "lost run"? The time doesn't match but it could be counted differently or something.
Don't use compatibility mode with Hourglass, ever. It causes desyncs. Your best bet is using a XP VM for TASing in Hourglass, it's kinda broken on newer Windows OSes. You can try disabling Multithreading though, it's what causes the most incompatibilities afaik.
The engine is the same as IWBTG, it runs on Hourglass with no problem as long as you run in a WinXP (Virtual) Machine.
Boshy would be the tricky one because in some categories it needs mouse for optimal play (changing characters) or to fight a boss at all (Kappa boss).

Had trouble watching it live due to connection issues, but got to see the highlights and it was absolutely amazing! And just watched the full VOD now. :)
I don't know about comparing Medium to Hard, but Medium to Impossible can save about 18 seconds with save abuse.
And you normally do. But when the game has no save and you move to a new world, when you reload the game moves you to the initial section of THAT world instead of the whole game, and on some cases, somewhere with no apparent sense from that world. This post from the previous page has an in-depth explanation. Since you have no save, the red orbs from bosses also aren't stored properly and when you restart they aren't lost. Something like that can be done on Impossible mode when you press R with red orbs: the game takes you to the save selection screen, but has a delay (about 2 seconds) to clear the red orbs, but if you start a save on Impossible before that (or any difficult actually), the bosses would still be beaten, meaning not only that warp glitch is very possible on Impossible, but you can also die and still progress (on a bored day I got 5 bosses beaten on Impossible abusing that lol).
1) Oh wow thanks for pointing that out. I actually made the movie in a VM with empty SAVE folder but recorded it in my main OS, which I have all items collected. They do not affect the sync at all, but I should have noticed it before recording.
2) All saves from the Minecart section will be used because upon reloading the game uses your x position for the cart as well, which can be used to save a lot of frames. 2 of the 3 WUSS saves from Entrance of the Guy are also used to get faster fire patterns.
I'll leave a 4 minutes WIP here up with what I finished so far.

Up to that point, 288 frames (5,76 seconds @50FPS) were saved over Kurikinton. About Dracula, it MAY be possible to kill him in one jump, but after about 3.5 hours of grind, my bests were 2 frames away, so I eventually gave up. Might save ~35 frames, I'm not sure anymore.
Normally you have to wait like 4 minutes of credits just to press Left to dodge the last apple. You can die on the credits. The RTA actually skips this, but we time it until the last input, so it's like 4 extra minutes of nothing. Pressing S at some spots during the credits will glitch it and can reduce it to about 30 seconds or so. But idk if that kind of thing is allowed here or not. I guess it is, but who knows.
So yeah, I said I'd re-do the run, and a year later I'm finally here re-doing it! Under Kurikinton's same conditions (Medium Any%, I guess we call Glitched?).
Just finished Tourian (where almost all of the warping takes place) and am back to Megaman. Up to this exact point I've saved 152 frames over Kury's run/WIP (which is 3.04s since the game runs at 50 FPS)! I can save about 3 more seconds at Dracula with a few tricks, and other ones far away (especially at the Minecart and the Guy), and the credits can be glitched to reach the tree much earlier (would this be legal?).
Hopefully I'll get it done this month, if I don't get lazy again lol.
Using Palemoon 25.0.2 x64, videos play at 60FPS just fine, HTML5. 720p loads normally as well.
Spike's video flickers when played on the embed Flash Player here, though.
Personally I think the gender symbols could be a bit larger:
They're small here too. I tested on Chrome, they look pretty big there:
The other symbols are square though. Don't know if it's my Chrome that's broken, it's not my default browser anyway.

Why not make the Gender option work like the Location option and display beneath the Avatar in text? Personally, I think that would look better.
Yeah I agree, that's what I meant when I said I didn't like the placement.
Good to see we've got somewhere after all. I didn't really like the symbol placement, but I'm keeping it blank anyway so whatever. I also agree on locking this.
I will defer to the wishes of our female members since they would be most affected by the policy, but if it were my choice, I would advise not allowing/requiring users to declare their gender. Let's just be all-inclusive and keep the preferred shape of our sex organs off the table, mmmkay?
(Wishful thinking on my part.)
HAVING to declare your gender is silly and I don't think I've came across any forum that does so (they either have the Blank option or you can hide it). Facebook (which isn't a forum) kind of does it, you can hide the gender itself but it still uses the gendered pronoun, which is silly, and you have to make a custom gender to make it refer to you as "they/them" (which even gets silly translation to non-english languages). It can be a right, but not an obligation.
I myself would be okay with the way it currently is since I myself don't seen this as much of a deal, that was the first time I've seen such an exaggerated reaction for a gender confusion (I've told this to synnchan already, she already apologized to the community so it's okay). But [blank]/male/female/other selectable box should be enough of a simple fix for those who WANT show off their gender to prevent confusion, and for didn't want to use their signature for that. So if my post makes any difference on the decision, I go for having the option.
@the arguments above: It this really necessary? This is an apology topic and and maximum we're trying to decide the course of action. ಠ_ಠ
