Well to answer OP's question there are at least a couple.;) Only 75 people on the forum have female flag? That's less than I would have thought. I wonder how many have player or higher rank.

I'm late, but those sound pretty cool, sub-5 minutes is definitely enticing. I'll have a look! Oh, it should be noted that TASes of this game intentionally choose to avoid death but this looks like a different ballpark since it's not like you're skipping levels by just respawning (which is why I think Mukki didn't use deaths in his TAS).

New movie completed, 1133 frames faster than before. It took longer than expected to make because I had to implement a minor route change in the tunnel level that saved about 80 frames. The total improvement over the published run is now 2954 frames. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/41503096039536617

Nice run, RobynS. Do you have to get the torch, map, flares and compass? Are any of those optional?
It bars you from exiting the tunnel if you don't collect all the items.

It turns out there is a recent real time run on speedsrun.com that I hadn't seen that beats the published TAS by 2 seconds because of a faster route in the last level which I also overlooked. So I'll implement that and have a new movie file shortly. It should save slightly over 10 seconds.

Thanks! I didn't mean to drop out of sight, but my old computer stopped working and the replacement wasn't suitable for tasing on (horrible keyboard and insanely slow speed.) I got a new one and it works much better than even the one I had before, so hopefully I'll be much more active here again

I was taking a look at it recently, but got stuck because I wasn't really able to figure out what "zig zag momentum from a previous screen" entailed... <_< If you'd like to take a shot at it, by all means go ahead.

I'm not very familiar with the game, but, honestly, this run doesn't really look much like a TAS at all. Your speed is constantly fluctuating if the speedometer is any indication, and it doesn't appear your turns are particularly tight. 93 rerecords is also not a very reassuring sign, since it's difficult for even the most experienced TASers to make runs of a high quality with so little of those. If you're new to this game, I'd recommend posting runs on the forum before submitting next time.

Wow, this is incredible. I remember this game being really difficult, so it was quite satisfying to see its more challenging sections blown by so easily. Very well done!

Yes, I go for the minimum health/berzerk meter on each level. Although I think I might've killed an enemy I didn't need to near the end of "Defeat Magneto", I'll look into that and provide a replacement file if so. Edit: Nope, it looks like that despite both meters being slightly smaller the levels fade out on the same frame.

I was familiar with the Genesis version we have at TASVideos before watching this. It's rare to say this, but I think the Arcade version is a lot worse.
I think the Genesis version is supposed to be a different game. The Master System did get a direct port of this Arcade version though. I agree that the Genesis game is a lot nicer. I'm not sure if it's just poor emulation, but the sound here is really muddy and the vocal samples are just terrible. The TAS itself appears mostly well done, however.

Hey thanks for the note. I don't know why I neglected to do that because I knew it saved time and it is done other places in the run. This game is pretty unfriendly to edits, but I'll try adding those in. EDIT: It looks like fixing it would require doing the rest over. My best attempt to resync that first one ends with Wolverine dying in the water because that enemy around frame 7680 is faster :\ I'll add some info in the submission text. Maybe if I find more improvements while doing a warp movie, I'll add them into a new version of this run as well.

Ok, yeah encoding FBA is a bit of a pain, so I wasn't in a rush. But here's a temp encode. Link to video You can skip to 5:14 to see the new stuff, the rest is the same as my previous run.

Link to video Wow, tornado zipping sure is something. Is there a new run being made? I'd like to try it but I wouldn't want to step on someone's toes. (Also, zig zag momentum?)

So I found out that there are two Pac Land runs in the vault, fastest time and warpless. This seems like a good enough precedent for me, so I've started a warpless movie too. Anyway, I did level 1 and I saved ~10 frames... most notable thing I discovered is that when Wolverine lands during a punch, he can jump again one frame earlier. Looking forward to this trick saving time throughout! Here's the link: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/31240997626626707

The Vault accepts warpless runs, so if I do the warped movie it would be published as a second branch, afaik? "Goal choice is limited to fastest completion time (any%), or full-completion (such as 100% or best ending)."

The post made by feos seems to have been buried unnoticed in the published movies section, but it turns out this game has warps that aren't used in the current run. Link to video I've been dabbling with this game a bit, and I figure I might as well try tasing it. So far, I have an fm2 of the first level warp that's 926 frames faster than completing the level normally, it could probably go lower though. I figure this game merits a warpless branch however, even if it would be vaulted, so I might as well tackle both of them at once, I have a few ideas to improve the current run. So... stay tuned...

Not sure why this is listed as Famicom Disk System...
I think it's the result of converting an fcm to fm2. See: several of Alyosha's submissions that build on old movies.

I'm guessing that it fails to meet the regulation that it "must be clearly definable as having completed the game."

Yeah, what about the end pipes. You probably could reach them faster and end the level right then? Why don't you? Is there a cutscene or something?
End pipes don't instantly end levels, you still need to reach the required distance. The only incentive to make the last piece an end pipe is that it multiplies your score by 2, and the little "2x" that appears after you do it takes its time to go away, so a TAS has no reason to bother with them.
