The submission time appears slower than the current publication, but I believe that is because the cycle count of this submission is slightly incorrect

I've managed to improve this by a single frame. https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638636816055695312
Should I request to have this submission updated, or should I make a new submission entirely? Would it even be accepted to the site?

That sounds like a good idea, but challenge mode is about getting a specific score, which I have no idea how to do optimally. If you think you could do it, go right ahead, I’d love to see it!

Thank you!
A little while back I tested the 1-2 mushroom grab with the 4-1 fire flower, and it came out 30 frames slower. When I was testing that I was working on a n RTA rules version of the TAS that didn’t use l+r, and at the time I didn’t know that both powerups in 1-2 were faster (I was grabbing the mushroom in 1-1.) I’m not sure which p-up in 1-2 is actually faster, but if I had to guess it would be the latter one. Not sure if it will end up being faster, but it’s probably worth testing.

Also, would my tas be considered 47 or 61 frames faster than the current publication? In bizhawk, my tas reaches the axe 61 frames faster, but comparing my user file’s frame count to denial140’s publication, it is only 47 frames faster.

I have been TASing Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for about 8 months now, and I am considering making a warpless TAS to see if it will get accepted. However, I am very new to the TASvideos site, and I am not 100% sure how the submission process works. Under game versions, the North American and European versions of the game are listed, but the Japanese version is not. Does this mean the Japanese version is not accepted for TASes, or is it because it hasn’t been used in a submitted TAS yet? Whether or not I can use the Japanese version will influence my TAS because the Japanese version has some tricks that are not possible on the NA/EU version.
