Parasite Eve. Breath of Fire 3. Breath of Fire 4. King's Field
I was thinking about those as well. Kings Field I just beat for the 1st time a couple of years ago and the ending, despite how terrible it was, made me feel good knowing that the game CAN be beaten. The game is so fucking hard that I gave up on it about 10 times back in the day.
Lol, I know. King's Field is horribly hard! xD I've started playing it like, twenty times, and never got passed the first area! x.x But none the less, the King's Field Series would make for entertaining TASes, just because of the difficulty factor.

I know that, but they aren't exactly worth getting to.
I wouldn't know about that. Seems to me that the extra damage would be worth it, especially since the characters are going to be under leveled and under powered. The more damage done, the faster enemies die. Although, this game also has some things where a boss can only be beaten by a certain PSI skill, IE, the Barrier Trio. I hate the Ultimate Chimera, cause I wish I could fight it in an actual boss fight and whip it's ass later in the game! >.<

The Combo System can really only be useful in a TAS. I doubt anyone could perfectly pull off a full 16 hit Combo in every battle otherwise.

I played this, it's really quite good, for a handheld game.

The N64 version actually has better controls. In the PSX version, it's harder to get a bead on your enemies. Plus, your shots just go right through every enemy. Kinda makes it hard to power level when you're destroying every enemy plus the generators. xD I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed, and hope Mupen+ can run the game better than other emulators.

I've been playing it for the last two days, hehe. I think it is a great translation too, but I doubt they'd allow a translated submission though. But, someone can still do it anyway, just for the hell of it. :3 I wouldn't mind seeing a full run in English. ;3

Huh, Satoru Iwata was involved in this title. Kewl. Generally tight and looks well executed, but often there seemed to be superfluous motions. I'm assuming these were to manipulate enemy and helper positions? Overall, I enjoyed it. Interesting that there's *two* licensed games based on this movie. Was the first one not good enough?
The other Ghostbusters 2 is a very boring game to me. This one at least looks fun to play, and I think I might just give it a try soon. I gave this a 8/6. Nice job. EDIT: Upon watching it all the way through, I changed my vote to a 9.5/7. This one even has a final boss fight against Vigo! I feel this game is far superior to the other NES Ghostbusters 2 game in just about every way. Very nice job.

Tell me about it. I love the N64 version of Gauntlet Legends. Unfortunately I can't find the game anywhere. So I gotta wait for a better Emulator. :/

I hope it will emulate games better. Such as, oh...Gauntlet Legends. Can't really play that game at all, cause there's no health bar or anything.

Jesus fucking christ, can we please have a thread with a FF game in it that doesn't turn into a discussion about which game is the best/worst?
I didn't mean for it to turn into a discussion. I merely stated what I think about Final Fantasy 8. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to games. Some people like FF8, some don't. I'm one of the few that really hates it. This is all I'm saying on this. :3

I think Jade Cocoon would make an intensely boring TAS. For those who haven't played it, the concept is similar to Pokemon, except the game runs at an incredibly low speed. There are lots of extra systems like the fact that the trainer enters battle at first (you have to 'summon' your monsters, another speed drain) and the merging of monsters (if questionable use in a TAS). Also I think the cutscenes are unskippable, but this is nothing new. I just don't see it being too interesting (I have the PAL version).
Yeah, you might be right about that. I think the best bet to use in the game, is the little Water Dragon you can capture at the beginning of the game. Has decent stats for the first creature available to capture. THis is just my speculation though. :3

Think Mupen+ will run Gauntlet Legends too? So far the only Gauntlet Legends game that works to perfection is the PSX one. >.>

Where's Final Fantasy 8? I'd like to see a run on that, what with the whole drawing system and all, it'd also be a complicated run. I'm having thoughts of doing it now.
I hated Final Fantasy 8, I felt back then, and feel now, that it was a disgrace to the Final Fantasy series. That's why it wasn't on my list.

Well, I didn't read more than the readme.txt that comes with the emulator, but I couldn't fix this: I have configured the controller, and I started playing (not even recording), ridge racer revolution. I could control everything fine, but then when starting the race the controllers became unresponsive again. I can even reset the emu and it'll still be unresponsive.. First controller: nrage 0.95 second control: nrage 0.95 It's confusing... Why are there two slots to set plugins for each controller if inside each plugin you can configure both controllers? doesn't that give some conflict?
Try Segu Direct Input Joystick Driver 0.3. I have that Segu plugin for Controller 1, and left the NRage one for Controller 2.

Most Cut Scenes are skippable in Legends for PSX. I've been playing it recently. I agree that a Speed Run of this would look better with the PSX version. The controls for the N64 version are just really awkward.

I'm just wondering what graphics Plugin is best for Final fantasy 7. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear I have a good enough one, because the In Battle Status Screen and stuff doesn't show up for the characters at the bottom, it's just a big black blank space.

I'm surprised this thread is active again. xD Well, whether someone does a Any% or 100% TAS of this is fine with me. Though I still prefer 100%. xD But really, any of the two runs will do. :3 Glad to see this thread getting so much traffic now.

I beat this game at 100% using Save States last month. I had 99,999 Coins, and ended up with Wario's face on the Moon. xD I always wanted to see a 100% run of this done, and am glad someone is going to do it. :3 This was my favorite Gameboy Game. ^.^
