There is like Battle Kid game that made from scratch. Is it complete lost? As i understand basically making new games it's lost. Every nes game that uses memory mappers are bad because "it do things that nes can't do"? So basically on NES you can play only like Super Mario Bros and Pinball? How about Star fox and Doom for SNES? edit: i can't see a difference between putting MMC3 mapper in the cart that maps like 512 kb and Rasberry pi that maps 512 mb of rom for NES

I think I finally realize why you're on such a different page than the rest of us. You literally want us to make our own hardware, or literally, physically make some abhorrent cartridge that breaks all the rules.
Yes. I would like to see new cartridge hardware based on modern parts and new game made specially for this hardware that uses everything that hardware can give. Without console modifications. It have nothing to do with tases or agdq. I post it right here, because this is only place i know where you can read this.

But peoples never see something like new game based on new powerfull cartridge hardware. So they don't know if they like it or not.

I mean - if those guys put all that work into creating romhack or new game it can be much more exiting than making those crazy tases. We already know that you can feed any program code you want trough controllers ports and then use controller ports like data bus or something. So it become like "what crazy thing we programmed". So basically it's the same thing every time - just different code has been feeded. I don't exactly sure, but when you do this - there is can be like obvious restrictions. Like you can use only console ram and can't switch memory banks or something for nes. If you made a cartridge from raspberry pi or something there is can be like infinite memory, infinite "ways to bank switching" etc. So we can't even imagine how game made like this gonna looks like. I don't know why you stick with TAS when you can make much more if drop that category and move to romhacking / game creation. edit: And after you make a game it can be tased or speedrunned too.

Sorry for offtop and everything. I know this is tasvideos and all... Guys, it's really cool what you can do with the games trough controllers ports... But maybe it's time to make like insane smb3 romhack or even new game from scratch? Like using raspberry pi or other modern hardware parts instead of usual cartridge boards. And make like huge nes game with a lot of insane levels without reusing graphics, with insane music and all. It would be so cool if you put all that work into new game or romhack instead of making this things trough controller ports. Just my opinion. Bad english

If you do wrong warp in japanese version it takes you to a little bit different place. Link to video If you go to far right - game freeze. You can break game a little bit by messing around. Again, i couldn't find any use of this. But maybe you can.

Thanks! I was trying to test other issue actually. So i want to test it on the last build. It's impossible to change volume of separate NES sound channels. You can move that things in this menu "NES -> Sound Channels", but settings doesn't apply.

Can't use NesHawk core in latest interim build. For some reasons BizHawk ignores settings "Config -> Cores -> NES with Quicknes" and "NES -> Core -> NesHawk". No matter what - it uses quicknes core. Only by loading like Lagrange point or something that unsupported by QuickNes it uses NesHawk.

Zelda II TAS was one of the first TASes that i watched and it was definitely the one that makes me love TASes. It was 2008 movie by Inzult. Really nice to see new version of this.

It would be so nice if avi record will work exactly like in chinese Nestopia plus. Like if you apply some x3 or x4 video filter - you get avi with that filter in correct x3 or x4 resolution with all video settings / filter settings you made. edit: for example - official Nestopia ignores filter settings, but at least made avi with correct resolution and with filter. Fceux completely ignores filters.

I don't really care about accuracy tests http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=05820033205353281268 Here is sound comparison between real console (first part) and NesHawk (second part) in game Jackal. When you hit something with rocket on real console there is like high tone metallic sound. And in NesHawk it's more low tone fainted sound. Same thing with fceux actually. There is some other differences in sound, but it really hard to hear. There is only three emulators known to me that have sound without any complains: puNES, Higan and QuickNES actually. And by comparing those - Higan wins. It have the most clean sound. The best dpcm samples sounding and it not eating any ends of notes. etc. edit: i will care about accuracy tests only if emulator don't have visible or heareable issues. edit2: They broke sound in punes so horrible in last releases. I clearly remember it was the first emulator where i hear right Jackal sound.

You must to be kidding me. It can do everything: all kind of overclocking, change pallets, more than 8 sprites per scanline. It have insanely good accurate sound, actually the best sound of all nes emulators i know. Even better than Higan. I can finally play FDS Metroid with overclock and without glitched FDS sound!!! BUT IT CAN NOT RECORD AVI Why? Why? WHY?

How you get 3200x speed? You modified fceux somehow? My Core i7 4770k CPU outputs only 650-670 fps at max. So it's only ~10x speed.

You can use .tasproj file as "normal" movie or you can go in tas studio file -> export to .bk2 to get "normal" movie file after changes you made.

If you just need a save state at some point in your tas - just play your tas from beginning and than made a save state at any point you need. But this doesn't allow you to change only that part in the beginning. If you load that save state to edit movie you will loose everything after that save. If you want to edit only that part at the beginning you pretty much have to use tas studio. You can edit movie a little bit with tas studio and then go to "normal stuff" edit: maybe this will help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z04_gsOI4RU

Hey ! I want to improve something at the start of my tas (a few frames) but I don't have any save states for this moment.
You can play movie from beginning and then made a save state at any moment, but when you load that save state you will loose every input after that save state. However, you can use TAS studio to edit input completely free. For example changing inputs only at certain frames. Also you can even edit movie file with notepad (at least you can in FCEUX) edit: also, if you edit some input at the beginning it can affect RNG or something and cause desync.

Wasn't that the game that used the VC7 chip? That may be why.
NesHawk definitely emulates extra sound generated by VRC7, but it's a little bit corrupted for some reason.

Lagrange Point have pretty bad sound in NesHawk. It's decent in FCEUX. Record from real console: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HEEB9S2Sp4

Classic NES Super Mario Bros. on the GBA has no sprite flicker with Mario and four Goombas in the same scanline compared to the original. disabled as seen in Mario Adventure.
This is a port and not like NES emulator. So it doesn't deal with NES limitations

This only happens on the overhead as the life meter doesn't flicker during the action.
Because during the action life meter is part of background Here is more examples: http://i.imgur.com/zoXpV8z.png http://i.imgur.com/14ApC8b.png http://i.imgur.com/UBHoNN3.png

It's easy to recreate. I already got same thing with fceux. So it's not a Powerpak issue

There is also a romhack called Recca Pure. You can change "difficulties" in that romhack just by pressing "select" on tittle screen and it have glitched title screen in BizHawk to. So it can be pretty handy to use that romhack for tests.
