Evidence suggest that you did indeed vote no, so I'd love to know why.

The exact count is basically never known in team movies, as lots of rerecords get lost when exchanging movies. In all of these cases, the regularly displayed rerecord count is left unchanged. While this number might be a bit too low, it would give a good estimate (if no bots were used). Manually changing the rerecord count however doesn't give a good indication whatsoever, and I really disliked that they changed it.
How do rerecords get lost... O.o Anyways, we had to hexedit the smv because the author text was wrong, then instead of leaving the rerecord count at 0, we changed it to 1337.

Who voted no?
I guess it's just some random Super Metroid hater, or someone who accidently pressed no (then again, they would have mentioned that). But who cares, a no vote without a post is just useless anyways =P.

wait this run will obsolete both runs?
We believe so. While this run aims for realtime, it's still just an 'Any%'. The route is very ingame favorable (meaning, if there would be an ingame category, it would use this route but optimize doors for ingame time).

I'd be grateful* if someone test the possibilities.
I began testing this and concluded it slower nearly right away. The reason why, is that you need to wait for the spikes to disappear, and you need to wait quite a long time. Once you've charged the spark the doors open quicker than Samus has time to reach the actual door. I tried spiking, but she didn't want to take damage. That and plus that I'm really lazy atm.

May of missed something important, but that would, 110%, be Kriole's fault.

Just don't know if it's faster or slower, considering the way Cpadolf uses in his last 100% run.
I tried several different things, and it's still about 30 frames slower than the original method. To be noted mini-kraid gives you super missiles with the shinespark too, they drop on the same frame his hp reaches 0. You just have to be lucky enough that Samus manages to pick them all up.

Kriole, Have you guys decided to go with the new route that I posted, the one which skips the spazer beam? If you don't mind telling, how many seconds would you estimate that you are ahead of my run? Might be hard to tell due to the route changes though :/
We actually mentioned long ago, when the final gains were determined, that we would use the new route. And so we did. I'm not sure if I should post the gains, especially since we haven't finished Ridley yet. And when Ridley is finished, the rest of the run will be done in less than 1-2 weeks, considering the fact that the rest of the game is a cakewalk (and everything is already played and planned ;]).

I see a lot of cool things in this thread, but is anyone here actually working on a TAS? Cpadolf already told me that he was not. EDIT: It looks like hero is. What's his progress?
Hero's not working on any run iirc, but me and Taco are. We're at Ridley atm.

Not only is this a mini-hack (probably not even that, it's just too retardedly small), but I also noticed about 9 seconds of improvements in the YouTube version of this run; every bombjump can be replaced with a normal jump, and the screw attack ball can probably be shot normally.

It seems that the guy has all the power upps like Screw Attack or Space Jump, but he is not using even the Varia Suit/Gravity Suit. Is it part of the trick???
Power-ups such as springball, space jump, screw attack or high-jump boots shouldn't have any effect.

That's hardly relevant to the topic at hand. Why does it matter anyway? It doesn't make my point any less valid.
I see you're a fan of overreacting. If you have seen any of Spoofer's posts before, you should know that this is exactly how he does post on these forums (therefore no-one did react, except you). Sadly, you do have a point in what you are saying; not only respect but also what people say will affect how they will be treated on this forum. Just look at Saturn and his recent submission; he posted a run of high quality, but his popularity in these quarters is pretty low, thus it was torn apart. But I sincerely doubt this will happen to Spoofer, given that most people actually grasp the concept of sarcasm. And please be rational enough to not respond. Obviously we are already way off-topic because of such a trivial matter.

I was in Maridia, suitless, and shot a vertically-aligned door while falling onto it. It stays solid while it's opening, of course; I turned during that period and when the door opened, I was instantly at full fall speed, just like with the crumble blocks.

Despite that though, I don't see it often in TASes. I'm guessing it's because you can get a better vertical position by falling normally and timing it perfectly - I've never measured it but I would guess the game engine would cause this to be true.

Just curious how either of the TAS's are holding up. I'm sad there hasn't been much progress I was hoping it would have been done by now.
For me it was just a project I would pick up after I'm done with the powerranger runs. And I'm gonna redo most of it, got this idea which might improve the bombjump by even more.

I just got a temporary job, so I can't really work on anything at the moment.

Phantoon can infact be 1-rounded with 1 missilepack. The setup takes some time but it is definitely faster.

I must have missed that, but luckily Taco sent it to me already. Turns out I'm 288 frames ahead.

Got bored the other day so I decided to try the first few rooms of this game. I used a WIP Taco created long ago as guidance, and managed to find small frame-improvements here and there. Started to get fun in Brinstar and further, so I decided that this will be the project I'll work on after me and Taco are done with our runs. Anyways, I'm done with the first large outdoor room after Torizo, so I decided to run it by here for funsies. Insert clichéd get-smv-here phrase I'd like to add that the level of optimization is low, except the bombjump in the 2nd to last room of this WIP (and the Kago, first visit). Most of the tricks/improvements I found would probably have been implemented by Saturn if he had done the run more recently. Since Saturn's smv stops at the walljump boots, I can only say that I am about 135 frames ahead there. The rest will be up to Saturn to announce. Another thing: About me spinning/despinning like crazy in the beginning. Let's say it maybe looks entertaining. The real reason is that I thought that that trick caused Samus to be pushed down without losing any horizontal momentum. Turns out I am stupid and completely wrong, so I stopped doing that.

Great WIP once again, Kriole. Too bad you guys still didn't realize that making the first jump as high as possible in the Gravity Statue Spike room would be a bit faster in the end than trying to land in the spikes as soon as possible. My YouTube demo of this room is apparently not of much use for you... Other than that nice work with many improvements already. Keep it up!
Don't really get your reasoning. So jumping is faster than running? Think I'm gonna quit TASing =(. Our last attempt was improved by a frame already. Cheniways, really nice low%. I think the highlight was the WS lake, I bet you got that idea from your redesign run. It surprised me that you opted not to use most of the bigger timesavers, but still you claimed you struggled for a 27 minute time. This is probably where you pondered if you should restart. Congratulations on finishing your first TAS of Super Metroid ;]
