You could just turn off the background layer that has all the fake keys, as the real one is a sprite.
Actually the creator has been smarter than that, and turning off the background layer only removes most of the keys, but not all of them. Some fake keys will still be visible along with the real one.

If you're referring to the multicolored blocks puzzle, there are no unnecessary movements for that solution.
Actually I meant a different block. You do it again in the beginning of Tanbel tower, so I'm probably just missing something. It just seems to me that pushing a block is slower than walking, but you simply push the block as far as it goes instead pushing it a few times and then walking beside it. (the block in the question is in of the first rooms, you push the block to get to a pot)

The wip looks great but I'm just wondering how you'll fare later in the game with such low levels. I don't remember this game being the easiest to do a low level game on. Lufia 2 being my favorite game ever, I'm really looking forward to this. BTW did you push a block one too many times in the castle dungeon or was I not paying attention?

Personally I feel that the two movies are not different enough to justify two movies being on the page simultaneously.

Wow, that was awesome! A 100% run has so much more happening at every turn it's going to be one hectic run. I'm sure you won't be sorry you did it when it's finished. What do you plan to do with Extra 6? Is it not going to be in the movie?

Did you know that you can destroy the missile silos at the end of the forest stage? You don't even have to use special weapons if the normal weapon is wide enough. I don't think that's the case here, though, so you could probably only destroy the upper row without wasting any specials. Not that it matters but I was just curious. As for the run, it's looking great! I can't wait for you to reach the later stages.

Here's my experience: When I tried to open the rerecord-GBA, it said it needed mfc71.dll and after getting that it said it also needed msvcr71.dll. After getting both DLLs I could get it open but when I try to open a ROM nothing happens, like with julianch and Gigafrost. I could drag & drop the ROM on the emulator to get it playing but then I couldn't play a movie! The browse button on the play movie screen did nothing and even if I manually entered the movie name it said "Could not find movie file G:\1370-M~1.vbm". The ROM's name is 1370 - Metroid Zero Mission(U)(fix).gba so when I changed the movie's filename to 1370 - Metroid Zero Mission(U)(fix).vbm it worked fine. EDIT: Oh and I'm using win98.

How about cleaning up the submission queue and rejecting this one since it obviously isn't going to be published?

Incredible run. It's been a while since I've seen the one on the site now but I don't remember it being this good at all. Good job!

Nope, it won't (sort of).. I tried the 9th sword orb trick a few years back. Although the lv9 sword is called the "Mana Sword", it still won't do more than 1 damage to the last boss without mana magic cast on it.
Not entirely correct. It's true that you will do 0 damage with a regular attack, but if you charge it up, you can do significant amounts of damage. Even something like 500 is possible if your level is high enough. A critical hit works well too.

Great movie! In regards to killing the bird in two rounds, you can do it with the wizard. The only problem is that you have to change to the wizard in the beginning of the boss, then in between the rounds you have to change back to the mountain climber (to grab the thingie so you won't fly away) and then back to the wizard. I don't know if the time saved is greater than the time lost on the changes.

Before anyone asks, those URLs must be copied & pasted in order for them to work.

This was just amazing! Will we be seeing a warpless version that uses all these new tricks any time soon?

Use frame advance and choose a frame near where the optimum should be and start running toward the door. If you bump on the door, try the next frame. If you get through the door but are too slow, try the previous frame. Could it also be that you have started running too close to the door and are not yet at full speed (but extremely close to it, which is why you wouldn't have noticed it) when you go through the door?

You can use frame advance. It's a tool that allows you to make frame-specific movements. It works like this: you pause the game first. Then let's say you want to jump while running, so you'll hold the forward, jump and run buttons and press the frame advance button. On the next frame, you can just hold those same keys if you want to continue jumping and either unpause to let the game roll again or use frame advance to go forward to the next phase where you have to do something tricky. Check your options on which key the frame advance is in your snes9x.

Awesome! After you get used to frame advance and other stuff I'm sure you'll be glad that you started over. And now you can do what you want to the avi but we can still have the smv when it's ready, right?

I think he wants to make an avi file, which means he should go to http://tasvideos.org/HowToMakeAVI.html.

Hello there and welcome! First off let me just say I think it's great that you are showing interest in this matter, as this has been a personal annoyance for me for some time. As you probably know, Bisqwit appoints all new editors, so I'm guessing you'll have to take it up with him personally. In the mean time (and in the case that you are not appointed as an editor) if you are feeling energetic and you already have some ideas for descriptions or other TODO stuff, feel free to post them here or send me a PM. I'll be glad to check them out.

I also want to have music playing with the run.
Nooo please don't ruin it! A huge part of the game is it's music and sound effects. If you take those away and replace them with something else the game is totally ruined. I was really looking forward to this but I guess I have to wait for someone (oh Teriiii...) to make an smv with your tricks implanted in it.

I think editing the avi is a bad, BAD idea. I can't image why someone would prefer it to a non-edited avi or the zmv/smv. It's not like the waits are very long in this game. And even if I know that it doesn't affect anything in the game itself, it makes it look more fake and not like a real game. If the game is not exactly the same as the one I have played, it doesn't really seem impressive. I don't just want to watch an action-packed movie, I want to watch a game being played. This is just how I see it. Oh, and I truly hope that you'll release the emulator file, it's so much more convenient. EDIT: I didn't notice what you said about multiple zmv files. Why don't you just make it with snes9x or wait for the zsnes rerecording support?

Isn't it the heat weapon that can kill Woodman in one hit? This just popped into my mind and I'm not sure about this but I have a feeling that it had to be fully charged and the game had to be played on Normal. On Difficult it took 2 fully charged blasts IIRC. The charging takes up a good amount of time so it wouldn't be useful in a run. There's a good chance I'm wrong so please correct me if you know better.

The movie looks awesome so far, I love how you use the enemies to jump over obstacles and skip parts of the levels. Nothing to complain about so far, I hope you're going to submit this when it's finished.
