Um, I am quite sure it is possible to write key listeners that respond to the key's value instead of its scancode on Windows, because I've done it with pygame/SDL. Whether the programmer bothers is another matter. :)

Actually I prefer the first image you listed. :) I think dithering looks very ugly. Edit: Well, except for the fairy, she doesn't look great there. Hrm.

A nice thing would be converting SVGs into Mario Paint 'movies'. Seeing as SVG is a vector graphics format, it should be much easier than trying to interpret arbitrary raster data as the clearly vector commands available in the program. Also, if your program doesn't do it already, it should probably draw boustrophedon for speed. Well done. :)

Large numbers in a combo gauge aren't that interesting - this is my issue with the Killer Instinct TAS - also, SSB doesn't have one. :) Just do absurd things! Make 2 of the players play pinball with a third; have one guy get pounded on by the other 3 then have him KO them all back at once! Just do fun stuff in a 3-stock match or something.

Uh? Since when does 'highest score' mean 'entertaining'? Maybe in a different game, it might.

Yeah this is pretty much the crux of the matter. It's a party game. Play it with a party!

I agree! So, focus on entertainment :)

Might I also suggest you use FCEUX to record the next run? The more people who jump to FM2, the better. :) Watching now.

I'm looking forward to this one. I did some preliminary planning for it a while back, but you have surpassed that. A little over an hour? Can't wait. :)

Nah, I'm pretty sure it happens in single player; I've certainly walked through doors without opening them. Edit: Yeah, I'm not confusing it with that 'door looks closed' bug. It seems a lot of doors in Act 2 tombs seem to allow running through before opening.

I would try and do this, but the SMV file format is horrible. :)

There are a lot of random sidescrolling brawlers on this site and very little to set them apart. The animation on this game is pretty good, but I had a hard time staying interested for even the first half. Meh.

I like this one. The animation and speed is at the right kind of level to entertain me, but the levels aren't exactly inspired. Not the most interesting TAS on the site but definitely not in the bottom 50%.

You just got duped again. But that's the point of 'screw with newbies', as our friend AKA so delicately puts it. Nobody is stopped from watching this movie (now bkDJ kindly made an encode), but many things are stopping it from being published. If you just want to watch it, then you should be happy! If you want it (or any other TAS on this game) to be published, then make it more interesting.

Yeah C never implicitly casts to boolean unless you do something like bool x = 1;

Yeah, return(0); doesn't mean 'call return with argument 0', it means, return (0), i.e. 'evaluate (0) as an expression and return it'

Despite the long orb collecting sequence (which is actually occasionally interesting), this was a good watch, and overall a pleasing experience. Upthorn bugged me with stuff while he was TASing it, and I'm quite happy with his decision not to go back and redo it all. Yes.

That list is slightly out of date (there is an ECCO movie, etc.) I wanted to say Chaos Engine, but it's not... wait, *looks for Soldiers of Fortune* no that isn't there either. Bah. From that list I'd most like to see Rings of Power, because I have no idea how to play that game.
