Even with the speed set to 100%, most of the games I play only run at around 70%. Is there any way to change the settings so I can play at 100% speed?

This has to be one of the most difficult games ever, so i'm interested in doing a TAS of it. This version of Jim Power is similar to the SNES version, only tweaked to give it better graphics and to make it less shite. Does anyone know any glitches, or what the differences between Easy/Hard are? Also, is it possible to get a name change? This one is rubbish >_>

What stats are you gonna get? Stache and Power seem to be the only ones worth getting.

Sorry I haven't been working on this recently. The video keeps desyncing, so it might take a while. BTW Dan, do you remember the order of level types? I think it went scroller, boss. birds-eye view, underwater, boss. But what were the 4th, 5th etc levels? <Edit> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G36VOYQ1E4Q Here is a test run I uploaded to show to my friends. It isn't perfect, and the shots seem to be timed a few frames off sometimes... i'll edit them out when I re-run this.

I've looked around, but I can't figure out how to do it. Apparently you have to use + and -, but that doesnt work. I'm using the re-recording build.

I did, in my test run. There are 6 or 7 levels IIRC. 2 or 3 are sidescrolling shooters. They are fairly easy to do. 2 "birds-eye-view" levels, which are really hard, and will probably fuck up my run a bit. 2 side-scrolling levels in a submarine. I should be done with level 1 soon, and i'll put it on YouTube.

Yeah, Tool-Assisted. I began the first level last night, and I was pretty annoyed that the movie desynced on me. I'll have a look aroung the forums and see if I can find out how to fix this. On the actual game, its pretty much designed not to be speedrunned. Jim pauses slightly when he fires, jumps are slow, and you can't hit a normal enemy with your gun on the way up from the jump.

Apparently, there is a laserdisk game emulator named "DAPHNE", but I don't know if its true. Thanks though. EDIT: My bad, I didn't read the part about tool-assisted.

I don't know if that breaks YouTube's rules, but I find that YouTube or google video are the best ways to watch the speedruns.

They are interactive adventures, so you can't actually improve the speed by too much - maybe 2 seconds between good and ok games. But they are great fun to watch... Would they be accepted for a speedrun?

I recorded a run of Super Ghouls and Ghosts earlier. The AVI it recorded is completely screwed. Instead of starting from the start, it seems to have taken a bit from the middle of the movie, made the sound all wierd, and make the colours mostly green. When the screwed up bit finishes, it starts about a minuite into the run. Later, when I get to the start of the screwed bit, it says it can't play the file. Help?

Anyone tried this? It's almost impossible to finish, even with an emulator. Let alone speedrunning.
