Easily one of the most entertaining speedruns I've seen in SOME time. Very very amusing stuff. I think Oh no OWN goal is definitely gonna catch on at least in my inner circle when I show this video to all of them.

Excellent work with the dreamsnake. A very enjoyable run otherwise too... all of the block destructions were pretty enjoyable.

I am very pleased I helped inspire this much of a stir for this game. I remember it being pretty killer and look forward to seeing what's done with it in the speedrun(s).

As much as I'm loving this relatively unimportant little language discussion... Anybody doing the run? And if so, how far along is it?

Wow. Have to say; out of all of the fighting game tas' I've seen, this is probably my favourite. If anyone else here is a fan of IDM you might understand me when I say I think this speedrun sounds beautiful. Sometimes those cuts get going really fast. Very neat little game; pleased to discover it was a rare title... makes sense, don't know how I forgot. Oh, but for making us endure that pun in the ending... I should also mention that I'm pretty pissed off too. ;)

wtf was up with that final boss!? The entire game looked G up until the final battle. Looked like it was straight out of a 14-A bloody/horror SNES game.

Actually, the auto scrollers aren't so bad for me. That's where the player really gets a chance to show off how much he can play with the glitches. I enjoyed the run, it was colourful and fun. I bet it was fun to make too.

Well... that was one hell of a run. I really liked it, probably in my top 5 nes runs. Music from hell is accurate (if there are credits, I wouldn't be suprised if the guy who 'did the music' didn't want to be attached to them); but I think boring is far from true. Fastest leveling up EVER. Not for everyone maybe; but it gets a thumbs up from me.

Probably my new all-time favourite run. Took all the things enjoyable about the last run and perfected them. Congratulations to all who contributed in it's production. A truely magnificent run. My only gripe is that while there is time when no input is required (waiting for bowser to explode to grab his key for example; possibly other times) something more visually impressive wasn't done. Backflip glitching, analog stick fun... whatever. Still, all of the glitching in this run was fantastic to watch.

Eww eww eww. What a terrible looking game. I'm sure the run was great, I saw it beginning to end, but anyone who actually got any enjoyment out of playing that final tower must be a sadist. Or a puzzle addict. JXQ; I hope you are the latter.

Very cool. The glitched uppercuts to sub-zero is the highlight for me. Very nifty to see 3 heads. Other than that it was pretty entertaining for sure.

the torrents are hosted on the same machine as the emulator movie files, the frontpage, the forum (minus a few static images). If everything else on this site works fine for you, I don't see why the torrents would be a problem. when you just click the torrent link instead of using "save target as", what error message does your browser give you? (and btw, which browser do you use?)
I've been using firefox 1.5.something... and regular clicking provides me with a timeout error or the save target as/open prompt... but then the same issue occurs from there, it pretends to get the file but doesn't actually get it. Testing IE now.... huh... weird... it seems to work fine... Tested Firefox again just now, still broken... and get this: the IE Tab extension of Firefox allows me to get it just fine too. Weird.

I strongly prefer to torrent the AVIs so that I do not have to worry about de-synch but they have been a little picky for me lately. Lately though, they have been timing out. When I save target as they say they are done but there is no file there when I look for it, and when I copy the URL into Bit Torrent (I will switch to Azureus or something better after a torrent finishes) it says it times out there as well. Is this a server issue? Is this a temporary issue? Is it on my end? Anyone else been having this trouble?

I second this motion. It is a very stylistic game and would be very fun to watch.

Less Ashamed Of Self, I hope you realise that speed is not the primary goal in this run.
I know... it is obvious. Also, FODA... see some of my posts above, it is my strategy throughout to do it in more than one shot. It is possible that you desynched. :P

The extra glitches make this run a lot more enjoyable. A lot of the strategies in general just make it fun to watch. An excellent run for castlevania, glitch, and speedrun fans alike.

Not to say your work is of lower quality, but frankly, I find gocha's videos much more entertaining. I got mad every time I saw you stop right before the hole...
It dawned on me afterwards that burning the shot off at the beginning is not only more likely to take less frames, but will also make more hole-in-one-y shots more entertaining. Regardless, the fact remains (I believe) that a hole-in-one shot DOES take longer in frames than 2 shots. I remember it being about 23 frames each time. What I wouldn't mind doing, if it's ok with gocha, is using his finished product as a template for a faster version without any hole-in-ones. Time will tell; in the meantime however, I should really go on one of my other projects. This one's pretty stale for me I'm afraid. :S I had a lot of fun making it though, I guess that's what counts.

I only downloaded the rom once and played it for about maybe an hour. I don't know how much speed would factor into a shooter like that, seems about as linear as space harrier... but MAN is the game gorgeous at times. I would LOVE to see the whole thing through, get to the boss with the gravity abilities and you'll see what I mean.

I think that run like this shouldn't aim for speed.
Well the thing is... there are some shots where, I'm 99% sure, a hole in one can never be possible. Mind you; I probably would've said 8-1 was one of those holes yesterday.

Crap... I knew this would happen if I sat on my run long enough. Time to whip my WIP out. Here's what I had done. I can almost guarantee this run is longer but I bet I did some holes faster too. Specifically 6-3 in two shots. I was under the impression however that one DIDN'T want to take ANY hole-in-ones due to the celebration adding unnecessary frames. Thusly, my strategy involves many a minimum of 2 shots; sometimes burning shots off and frequently stopping right in front of a hole (which I believe is the inferior choice of the two) Maybe all of this was covered in discussion, I will review that as well, I just wanted to post this sooner rather than later if it would help any. I have not yet seen the run done here, I'm going to take a look at it now. More commentary to come. (Amazing work with the 8-1 hole in one... nothing quite that good in my run)
