Yeah. That's my issue with this version (and if you know my history it's going to sound hilarious coming from me).
should’ve just kept quiet then, you vandal. how can you blame me for stealing submissions when you’ve done it several times yourself?

well, nymx sometimes rushes his judgments and misses blatant optimisation issues, but you’ve never had a go at HIM for it. so why do you 2 think it’s right to start having a go at ME when NYMX was the one doing it FIRST?! and Spikestuff, regarding Castle Cat: if you’ve been so pissed off about not finding an HP value (that doesn’t even matter for optimisation anyway), you should’ve let me know in the first place rather than told me in a DIFFERENT BLOODY SUBMISSION. ending this post on a positive note. Induviel, well done on improving my submission and thanks for never being unkind to me, unlike the other two users in this forum.

Curious if there was a particular reason you used the (PC10) version of the game over the (U) 1.0 or (W) 1.1 version of the game?
no particular reason, it was just the first ROM i found that had a safe download.

No actual effort in this userfile which is faster than this submission.
took a crack at this myself and managed to beat your userfile by 14 frames: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638469817480655948

wouldn't jumping before hitting the upwards slopes be faster? voting no for low optimisation.

I feel like 90% of the effort for this game was put into the graphics for that chariot your soldier is running away from and the circular scrolling of the building in the top-left corner, with everything else being an afterthought. Vote "Meh" because of the short amount of actual gameplay time.
fair enough. i think the exact same with all the effort being blown on the first part of the game, just like in the NES version of Action 52 they blew like half the budget on the opening cutscene.

good find! i had no idea what the codes did and when i tried to input them on the level select menu nothing happened, so i didn’t think anything of them.

interesting improvement. i think you've removed some of the commands to make the TAS shorter?

you know what, i actually haven’t tested holding F. i’ll look into it when i get home. EDIT: holding F doesn't make a difference. i can confirm there is no way to go faster.

personally i’d rather stick to the original licensed hardware rather than use a third-party peripheral that wasn’t originally included with the system.

resynced and ended up finding enough improvement to save 17 frames in The Cabin! https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638414673314294208 there probably won’t be any more improvements for now. Induviel and I consider this the final draft.

Induviel and I are working on what's probably the final draft. we saved a further 20 frames on The Attic but some of these might be lost due to desync in The Cabin. here's the current progress: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638414424103352052 will make another post when The Cabin is resynced.

the optimisation here is insane, considering this is a moderately trivial game to TAS at a first glance. definite yes vote.
