Don't do the Ness fight, but do blaze by the credits and target as many of them as you can while going through them that fast.

Is anyone working on/thinking about doing an alternate 14%, ie taking Speed Booster instead of Ice Beam?
Is that possible? I can't imagine having enough power bombs to kill all those Metroids in Tourain. Then again, maybe I should watch the current 14% run before opening my big mouth. (I only watched the 100% run)

Shows how much I know about the game. I didn't know this one had item crashes.

The run is now 13:37 long
Am I the only one who chuckled at this? I'm reminded when I did Metroid Zero Mission in one sitting and got 1:33:37 on accident. (I'm not a speed oriented player when I play casually)

you lose both your weapon upgrade and special weapon (up+attack).
I can understand losing your final upgrade (flaming whip/spear) but I don't recall losing your special weapon unless you actually die. Oh, and up+attack doesn't use the special weapon in this, since there are 3 buttons on (most) Genesis controllers. :P

Actually, certain enemies DO have more health in harder difficulties. I recall the giant Cyclops near the end was nigh impossible to kill without luring him towards the magic casting wall towards the left.

Sonic Mega Collection is actually a collection of ROMs using a modified version of Gens which was ported to gamecube and PS2.
Pretty bad version of Gens if you ask me, the Flying Battery in Angel Island act 2 still makes my ears bleed.

Right, so you're saying there's no "Play all mini-games as a quest" mode?
Nope, though MP3 was my favorite because of dual mode.

I use WMP, but I got FFDshow from the links in this site so that may have something to do with it. WinAmp is reserved for music only for me. :P

I'm also pretty sure you can't get an unlockable character as a helper until they've been unlocked. At least, that's been my experience. So no chance of seeing ness fight.
Entirely true, going against Luigi in that stage seems like a bit of a spoiler to me...

Don't get discouraged, it's not like you have a finate amount of rerecords at your disposal, I'm cheering for you on for one of if not THE first published SSB run! :)

Yeah, I guess you're right, the fact that after level 30 or so in a stat, a 1 point increase really isn't that much anymore. Heh, a TAS using Zur would be interesting.

Perhaps he was thinking similarly to the fact that if you stand where Knuckles lands as Super/Hyper Sonic, you damage him a lot faster. But I doubt that will work with Tails spindashing in place.

I doubt that I will be able to actually make a TAS of this, I'm just putting the idea out there. I think it will be a good game to TAS because you have to think about which of the 3 characters you want to start with, and what to do with stats. (sacrifice mobility for power etc) Plus I always get a kick out of Zur.

Hmm, I know that boss can be killed a lot faster, using a different ability, but I'm not sure if the mobility you gain by keeping the Missile ability makes up for that.
I know hammer can kill him within seconds, just move next to him as soon as you enter the room, hit him a couple times on your way down, then do a flaming swing (up+b) or two and he's done. I don't know if you can get hammer without wasting time though.

If you're talking about the Mystic bonus, I think that only works when you're in the magnifying glass either on the right, left, or top of the screen. I'm not 100% sure though.
